  1. Don't the Thais call them soi oysters?
  2. As far as this Homophobia Festival, of course I support their free speech civil rights to have the event. But just pointing out what it really is if you haven't figured that out already. There will be no threats of violence and actual violence against it like there are so often with Gay Pride events both in the U.S. and abroad.
  3. The apps do have a lot of competing pressures of course. Attracting drivers with enough pay to make such a rough job worth it. Attracting restaurants while forcing them to cut their margins to pay them. Attracting customers with good enough service, and attractive enough incentives to encourage frequent usage. It's definitely not an instant minting money concept. I do know in the US now paying for delivery is more of a luxury item than an everyday thing. In Thailand it's much more of everyday thing, with people of all classes using it frequently even for very small orders. I hope it can remain that way.
  4. I guess most people are not super adventurous in their restaurant picks for delivery. But I'm always searching for the next novel delicious thing. Unfortunately, with the many hundreds of options, it really takes a long time to do thorough exploration. I wish they had better tools to speed that up. Maybe AI integration. Is there a way to do that now? I've been very slow to get into AI.
  5. Foreign tourists are already cancelling their trips to the US in droves. This is another reason for them to continue to do so. A world class international food scene diminished by a total moron in the white house.
  6. I can't even process that anyone actually believes that Trump cares one tiny bit about the common man, Your post is full of silliness. The "reciprocal tariffs" aren't based on tariffs at all. They're based on total idiocy conflating trade imbalances with tariffs and the big lie that they are paid by foreign nationss and aren't actually a tax mostly on lower wealth Americans. Doge isn't about cutting waste. Its about concentrating corruption with Trump cronies. It's about smashing all the government agencies to pieces to facilitate total power takeover by an autocratic dictator. A key policy goal of Trump remains even more tax cuts for billionaires.
  7. Doubling down on the ignorance and bigotry. Nobody is surprised.
  8. Yeah he's playing 5 D chess. The D's standing for DUMB.
  9. Good question. But when I was using Hungry Now the giveaways for market share were so generous (too good to be true) that it was obvious they couldn't sustain that for very long.
  10. Overall this is bad news for consumers. I assume that at least at one time Panda had a decent market share. Now with them gone, less competition, and less reason for remaining players to offer good incentives.
  11. That is shocking! But weirdly I stopped using them after they wouldn't accept my cards for payment. I also find their offerings inferior to Grab. I only use Line if it's a special place that isn't on another app. Yes of course Hungry Now was fantastic but they were clearly trying to buy market share and it didn't work. Is there any reason to check out Shopee? About Grab discounts simply join their premium "club" very inexpensively and get a 20 percent discount one per day up to 80 baht pretty much year round except for holidays and peak periods. Also discounts on all deliveries. The code for this is: EXPAT20 Sometimes you have to work a bit to learn the codes though but if you're in the club always try EXPAT20.
  12. The article in question. Will magas read it? (ha ha). Most of the "debate" here has absolutely nothing to do with the content of the oped. Typical. www.forward.com/opinion/713686/dolchstosslegende-nazi-lie-adolf-hitler-donald-trump/ How Trump's grab for power evokes an infamous Nazi lie – The Forward From his failed Beer Hall putsch in Munich in 1923 to the Third Reich’s downfall 22 years later, Adolf Hitler spewed venom against what he called the “November Criminals” — Marxists and Jews who he claimed were responsible for Imperial Germany’s defeat in November 1918. Hitler’s assertion, based on a conspiracy theory concocted by Germany’s losing generals and conservative politicians, was ultimately embraced by much of the German populace. In German, this myth is called the Dolchstosslegende, or stabbed-in-the-back legend. Donald Trump has created an American version of the Dolchstosslegende, propagating a myth that the nation is being led to ruination by Joe Biden and the Democrats, prosecutors who go after Trump, judges who rule against him, non-MAGA news media, practitioners of “wokeism,” and elite universities, among others. Trump sometimes lumps together those who oppose him as Communists. Red baiting was good enough for Joe McCarthy, so why not for Donald Trump? All of this is utter nonsense, of course, but this American stabbed-in-the-back lie is at the core of Trump’s assaults on democracy.
  13. 90 percent, huh? I want some of what you're smoking. Thanks for revealing your deeply ingrained ignorance and homophobia.
  14. Total bull. What happened happened organically over time. There was no grand conspiracy. Some LGBT are OK with it and some aren't. Maybe this is hard for you to absorb -- LGBT people are not a monolith.
  15. Not at all. Pay attention or maybe you're not capable of understanding nuance. Gay Pride events are not in any way about promoting hatred of heterosexuals. Straight Pride events are ALWAYS about promoting hatred of LGBT people. A difference that is very real if you're honest enough to admit it.
  16. He has actually ruined America remarkably quickly. Trashed it's reputation permanently. Declared hostility to the entire world (except Russia).
  17. Again not literally Hitler. Jew ass? Hmm. Thanks for the reveal.
  18. Don't believe it. Irrelevant either way. That is made in the US with no or very limited imported ingredients.
  19. Tsk tsk. Butthole shaming. My mother had the honor of hearing Einstein speak. I'm certain that Einstein would be very horrified about the rise of fascism in America.
  20. My grandfather read it. I read the online version but it sure has changed alot over the years.
  21. Sure you did. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_chicken Orange chicken is called Chinese food in North America, but orange chicken is rarely found in Chinese restaurants in China. Andrew Cherng, owner and founder of Panda Express, said that orange chicken is just a variation of General Tso's chicken, another dish that is almost unknown in China. Journalist Jennifer 8. Lee says that both "General Tso's chicken and Orange Chicken are Americanized mutations of sweet and sour dishes found in China."[1]
