So many useful idiots for Putin outside Russia have taken up the talking point that Russia never thought they would conquer Ukraine by way of a direct attack on Kyiv in a few days or a week or so. Let's back up. Pretty much the entire world initially thought that Russia would defeat Ukraine very, very quickly. INCLUDING and probably especially Russia. Not a war but a SMO don't you know? I remember. I thought so myself. You couldn't really hear voices saying differently. That was UNTIL things started going belly up for the invaders and Zelinskyy was famously offered a ride out replied that he didn't want a ride out but did want ammunition. Even after that, there were real fears Zelinskyy would just soon be assassinated. (Russia recently tried that again so it still might happen but this is now years later.) So then later what did we get when after the war dragged on and Ukraine showed remarkable resistance. We got silly people parroting Kremlin revisionist history propaganda that Russia never thought the war would end quickly and it was all going according to plan. But that was not the truth. The Russians definitely DID agree with the world at the time -- that they would be triumphant in a matter of days or so. Just so you know. When you hear that garbage Kremlin talking point again from useful idiots for Putin and you will, do not believe it for a second.
