  1. If you've been watching America's Got Talent and don't know who won yet, do not read this post! So the final happened and am wondering that perhaps AGT is not particularly American? The judges, a Brit, a Canuck, a German, and a Colombian. Some might be U.S. citizens now but I'm pretty sure at least two aren't. I noticed on Britain's Got Talent ALL the judges are Brits. OK I guess if they mean The Americas rather than the USA, that's three out of four. The finalists, an Aussie and a big crowd of Lebanese. So the Lebanese dancers won and well deserved, but it's such a big group, they're supposed to be moving to Las Vegas, how many will actually be able to get long term visas? Not being xenophobic, such international inclusion means getting even better talent, and I'm proud that American voters don't discriminate, but I'm really wondering about the visas.
  2. My prediction over 9 percent was obviously wrong. I'll now go with the consensus, something about 8.5. The "dream" of 11 percent is dead.
  3. Prosecuting actually very very serious FELONY crimes that are a threat to national security is not persecution. The Trumpist line is that this one ex president is above the law. I don't think this is what the founders had in mind! Ever heard of country over party? Trump and his fascist movement, nothing semi about it, is a direct existential threat to American democracy.
  4. It's a stalling tactic. Trump was lucky to get a Trumpist stooge "judge" so the stalling will happen. The only question is for how long and to what effect. Remember that any decisions that either side doesn't like will face continuing legal battles, item by item. Justice delayed is justice denied. This was an almost perfect case until Trump got that lacky judge that thinks ex presidents are above the law. It may be back to other avenues, such as the Georgia case, which is still a very big threat to the losing president.
  5. Inciting violence yet again as he did leading up to the January 6th coup attempt. It beggars belief that any decent pro democracy American still supports this traitor to the constitution.
  6. Where? Did they have a variety of doses?
  7. I predict 9.6 percent.
  8. Putin is not welcome. I heard that Biden will be an exception to the ride the bus brigade and appropriately so.
  9. I took a chance on six part series 42 Days of Darkness from Chile and have no regrets. The ambiguous ending was frustrating but strangely adds to the emotional impact. Still don't know who did it or why. Watch the Spanish version. I always do but I just watched a dubbed trailer and masterful acting was butchered.
  10. I would say wait until you need and invest your money elsewhere such as a stock index fund. There is a good chance your Thai condo will be an ill managed wreck in 15 years. There is also a good chance that a remotely managed condo will take you to the cleaners.
  11. I appreciate that the heroic Ukrainians are now liberating large areas of land occupied by the army of genocidal fascist Putin. Also there are now stronger signs of internal resistance in Russia.
  12. Sounds like you tried to do a domestic ACH transfer to Bangkok Bank New York with your Thai bank account number. If so, try SWIFT. Send dollars.
  13. She says she'll deliver but where is the tracking number? Don't over promise. She's lacking in charisma and her policies might be questionable but at least she doesn't come off as unhinged. Good luck.Britain. You're gonna need it.
  14. You obviously need a lawyer.
  15. Yes I love him but I find myself comparing him to the Marx Brothers who were better.
  16. Is it OK to say something like: The dish I ordered was the Cream of New York City Pigeon with Cajun blackened Albanian purple truffles (topped with pizza from the street). While tastes are subjective and many will love the dish to me it tasted like dog <deleted>. Asking for a friend.
  17. The irony is Mr. Trump advocated the death penalty for the security violation crimes he has clearly commited. Yet his insurrectionist anti democracy cult remains loyal.
  18. Maybe that's the latest MAGA insanely lamo line of defense?
  19. Yes the old black lesbian gambit. Either it didn't happen or it's irrelevant to proving any point what one person says as if one person could possibly represents all of any group. So basically a cheap debate trick.
  20. Strong pass. This is a blatant right wing political propaganda hit piece. Filmed in Putin adjacent Serbia Of course it was! https://kotaku.com/my-son-hunter-biden-gina-carano-robert-davi-halo-3-1849468462 Halo Voice Actor Directing Bat<deleted> Anti-Biden Propaganda Film
  21. I do not favor mask mandates even in crowded indoor areas. In practice, most people are wearing crappy masks anyway when they do wear them. But most everyone should keep up to date on vaccines, and high risk people would be wise to consider indefinite continuation of optional mitigation measures. Another comment, many people including me mask up while walking outdoors towards an indoor public space. It's become popular to mock such people and behavior without consider it's a matter of convenience to just keep the mask on. outdoors while on the way. If you see someone wearing a mask outdoors it doesn't necessarily mean that think it's worthwhile to mask outdoors. Pulling them up and down to the chin is hygenically questionable.
