what money is taxed 2024 ?
Jingthing replied to Carver2's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Also taxed in Thailand so you get credits. Roth IRAs are not taxed in the US but are taxed in Thailand. -
Update on Panda where I can't use my BB mc or Kbank visa debit cards and they restrict True Money to Thais. To join or renew the Panda Pro status which gets various discounts they have very recently added the option of joining that with Add To Cart when placing any order. So that helps me as I now only have the cash option with Panda although I have learned you can pay cash orders by scanning driver QR code from your banking apps.

Village People to Perform at Trump’s Inauguration Celebration
Jingthing replied to Social Media's topic in World News
They're old now. They're on record as not being Trump fans. But disco era Trump is a fan of theirs. So obviously doing this brings them a lot of money and also greatly enhances their historical legacy. Most humans couldn't resist such easily gained benefits. YMCA is a gay anthrm but it's a relic. The Trump maga fascist movement represents going backwards in LGBT civil rights. They hope to reverse marriage equality just as they killed federal abortion rights. It's already started in Idaho. No doubt it will be revisited by the far right supreme court. A key part of their campaign was about scapegoating trans people. So can't approve of them playing this event but understand why they couldn't resist -
I have no reason to think that Merrick Garland wouldn't have made a good supreme court justice. But as the Attorney General during Biden's term, his actions, more like his absurdly delayed actions, set the table for the reemergence of the disaster soon to be inaugurated January 20. He was appointed as a consolation prize for having had his seat on the court stolen from him. I understand the emotion behind that -- but what a massive historic mistake. The USA and the world will pay a very big price for the milquetoast behavior of Merrick Garland.

Not inclusive. Dividends. Capital gains on investments. Rental income. Pensions not excluded by DTAs (for example U.S. IRA accounts) -
To be clear I am not saying this fire disaster is a matter of one factor. It's a matter of many complex factors including climate change, population increases in high risk area, and all kinds of efforts successful and not successful of mitigation attempts by policies and actions. What I do know for a fact that the current maga effort to blame this on some officials being black, some officials being lesbian, and a government being dominated by democrats in a region dominated by democratic voters, and calls for cutting off federal DISASTER aid unless politically motivated "conditions" are met is incredibly stupid and incredibly wrong. Trump talks about annexing Canada. I wouldn't blame Californians after these outrageous insults and threats from federal maga and zero compassion while so many Californians are actively fighting for their homes and their lives (but lets do the BLAME GAME instead) to start to look into joining Canada (ideally including Oregon and Washington to make it geographically coherent).

So he didn't even ask you what were the specific sources of your outside Thailand income remitted to Thailand? I'm sure others have heard such things but I would be skeptical because we know for a fact that some types of income remitted to Thailand definitely are taxable in Thailand. But that's different than an office saying and following through on having no interest in ENFORCING that. Kind of joking but I guess it would have been rude to ask him to give you a signed document to the effect of what he said.- 263 replies

Pensions clearly pay out income. It may not be income currently earned, but it is still income. Thailand differentiates between ACCESSABLE pension income and EXCLUDED pension income (if remitted). U.S. social security is EXCLUDED. That said, my current understanding is that Thailand classifies U.S. retirement account withdrawals (IRAs, 401ks) as accessable pension income when in no way does the U.S. consider them as pensions (but withdrawals can be taxable income (Roth vs. Traditional IRAs). A classic pension has defined payments. A person could have an IRA and take out zero one year, 100K another year, at their choosing. How is that a pension?

That's a hilariously weak argument even considering the source. 92,000 out of world of the internet billions clearly not even vetted as eligible LA voters. Even if it was only vetted LA voters, really a puny number. You could easily get many more signers of such garbage for a petition saying the earth is flat. You know this but you went with it anyway. As far as Newsom's presidential ambitions, personally I could care less (intentional Americanism). Yes he's ambitious but maga just won an election. Give it a rest on presidential politics at least until after the midterms! It's just mental masturbation now to speculate which people will emerge as contenders in 28 if indeed there is even a fair election to happen in 28 after Trump has done his dirty authoritarian business.
