  1. I am a Trump-hater, and I think this decision is discriminatory. It is described as only barring "...transgender girls and women from participating in female sports." What about transgender boys and men from participating in male sports? Why the gender discrimination?
  2. ... nuff said Yes, most of what I "know" has come from things I've read or heard about it in some way, not from my own personal experience. I'm sure it's the same for you and everyone else on these forums.
  3. I agree you should have to "prove" you're a US citizen to be able to register to vote. I don't know how hard it is to get an ID, but I have read that in some states, it's not that easy. An extreme example would be someone who is 'living on the streets" (has no actual address.) Also, in many states, even after you've registered, voting itself is difficult. An example would be vote by mail or absentee voting. Some states have a lot less voting access in minority areas, etc... Anyway, IMO, registering and voting should be made as easy as possible everywhere.
  4. Only ~78% of voting age are even registered, ~262M of ~335M - wiki & google Only ~58% bothered voting either, ~52M, of 262M voted for either - wiki Yes, those are very disappointing figures. Of course, some of those who should be eligible to vote are, in some states, kept from registering because of questionable qualification demands. However, I agree that voter registration and turnout are very disappointing. I voted here, online, from Thailand, and found the procedure surprisingly easy.
  5. Just tells you most voting US citizens are kwai. Actually, "most" voting US citizens did not vote for Trump. He only got 49.7%, so "most" of the voting US citizens voted for someone else. Harris got 48.2%, so she only lost the popular vote by 1.5%. 2024 Presidential General Election Results
  6. I don't hope that. Why would you want that? But if they do, I only ask that they don't eliminate the Social Security benefits from the money already taken from retired people like me.
  7. That "an even worse one that had received not one primary vote" got 47.6% of the popular vote, just 2.3% less than Trump. No one got the majority of the popular vote.
  8. Electricity harvested from the light from the Sun is not free, and it's not non-polluting.
  9. RFK Jr. is unfit, just like most of Trump's nominees. But the most shameful fact in all of this is Trump was elected president. I'm extremely disappointed and even a little fearful of my fellow US citizens. I'm very happy that I now live in Thailand and can just watch all the catastrophes develop from my easy chair on CNN, as long as they keep their hands off my Social Security payments.
  10. "Passenger" is gender-neutral. So are many of the nouns and pronouns listed in the article. All of the verbs are gender-neutral.
  11. I have a complete exam every year, and it includes a PSA test and score. I'm 79, and my PSA count is right at the limit. However, I was advised several years ago by several of my friends in the USA who are doctors that anyone my age should not really consider having their prostate removed, even if there is evidence of cancer. They told me that type of cancer is very slow growing and should not become a problem unless I lived above 100.
  12. Does Trump completely lack decency and compassion? Yes, absolutely... 😡
  13. I think we differ in two areas on this. One is that I want only QUALIFIED candidates employed, not necessarily the MOST QUALIFIED. The final decision considers other things, such as years of experience, salary expectations, and, yes, DEI. The second is that it makes me a non-racist and a proponent of DEI.
  14. @proton, After reading your response above, I saw a book on DEI that I thought you might like...
  15. Just please note that no airplane collisions and crashes like this happened while Biden was president.
  16. This happened to me also on one of my computers, a tower. It had Win11 Pro 22H2 (installed in 2022 and now out-of-service). I installed 24H2, and now everything is fine. I didn't have to pay any money, but the installation was a hassle. I now have to do the same thing on my other computer (laptop) that has 23H2.
  17. That's certainly the attitude of right-wing fascists like Trump and his supporters. But it's also certainly not a "woke" attitude.
  18. It should be that we will do what we believe is right regardless of what others do. If others do wrong, we should punish them if we can, but we should not then do the same thing as they do.
  19. So, that means his disapproval rating would be 51%. I'm in that section.
