I've thought of at least a partial solution to two of Thialand's continual problems, which show up on these forums and which will save Thai and many Farang lives! How about rounding up all pit bulls and vicious soi dogs and putting them on the balconies of all rooms in Pattaya hotels above the first floor?

Another "breed" that kills a lot more people and other animals than pit bulls is humans. Would you suggest we "sweep the world and eliminate and execute every single one of them" also? But, of course, we (humans) are in the process of doing that already with our continual destruction of the Earth's environment. Pit bulls are an insignificant problem compared to that.

Delusion? You mean like dark energy and dark matter? How many more ad hoc hypotheses will you need? Oh, it's matter alright, the overwhelming majority, and never mind that it neither emits nor absorbs radiation. Neither does my God. Yes, @SlappyMc, just like our delusions of dark energy and dark matter or just plain old energy and matter. All our concepts of reality are delusions created by our (human) intellect. "God" is just one of the more crazy ones.

Foreign man knocks out Thai transwoman on Pattaya Walking Street - video
WDSmart replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I think of it just the opposite: in Thailand, the USA, or anywhere else, most crimes occur in urban areas. I'm originally from a small town in the USA, but since then, I've lived in many large cities all over the world. I've spent some time (a couple of weeks) in Sydney and Melbourne. I've always wanted to see more of Australia, especially the small cities along the northern coast. I prefer the country. Right now, I live in the jungle-covered mountains near a small town called Wangchomphu in Phetchabun Province, Thailand. It's remote, covered in trees and grass, and many wild animals like chickens, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, etc. We also have a lot of dogs that roam freely on our property. I love that. Why do you think there were so many dead animals on your drive, as described above? -
The Republican Reckoning: A Post-Trump Civil War Looms if He Loses
WDSmart replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I agree that Trump will not accept his most likely defeat in the upcoming election and that he and his cult will resort to violence. I'll be sadly watching it all on CNN on the TV in my living room here in the mountains of Thailand. -
No. Both issues are relevant. Pit Bulls have very high rates of aggression, despite an odd club of cheerleading proponents defending their reputations. It's important to pushback against their nonsense. It's also important to draw attention to the endless growth of feral dogs in Bangkok. Mahidol estimates 0.5% have rabies and those which bite must have a higher chance. Having now been bitten 4 times, I want to see some focus on this issue. No, it's just that attacks by pit bulls are reported more frequently. The increase in feral dogs is a problem created by humans. We're the ones that first brought them here and then abandoned them. We have to deal with that but in a compassionate way. I have had 10 to 20 dogs for the past 20 years at my home (I live on about 24 rai in the mountains) and have never been bitten. I also want to see some focus on this issue, but a focus that does not include just killing all pit bulls or feral dogs.

Sure, if you are a US citizen and a registered voter! I'll amend that to just "a registered US voter." You have to be a US citizen to register to vote.

I agree that Tickle looks more like a male than a female, but I support the court's decision. First, I do not favor restricting membership in an organization, especially an online organization, to only those of a particular gender, race, religion, etc. Second, Grover, the founder of Giggle for Girls, shouldn't be allowed to determine someone's gender from a photo.

No, because the concept of "God" is a delusion we (humans) have invented to help us feel we are in control of our lives.

Wrong then, and now. The only reason the husband could/would be on the Chanute is if a mortgage/loan was registered at the same time. This is recorded on the Chanute and yes the land owner could not sell until the loan has been discharged. Caveat......Can be joint Thai/foreign ownership with a Condo, not land. @couchpotato, Thanks for your comment, but my Thai wife and I (USA) have multiple properties, including rice land, that have chanote deeds and have no loans out against them. When we bought them, the land office in our area (Phetchabun) told us the properties had to be in my wife's name but would include my name and require both of our approvals of any sale or even using the properties for collateral on a loan. Also, we sold one of the rice fields we owned (no mortgage), and I was required to sign during the sale. Now, maybe my signature was not REQUIRED, but we were told it was at the time. That sale was about five years ago. That was clearly the belief of the land office here in Phetchabun.

How stupidity is an existential threat to America
WDSmart replied to simple1's topic in Political Soapbox
Yes, I agree with the general premise. I cannot for the life of me understand why so many US citizens (40% or more?) support and would vote for Trump. But if that turns out to be the case in Nov, I'll have to accept that my home country, the USA, is full of idiots... -
No thanks. I don't watch Fox News.

I looked into this a long time ago. What I found then was that if a couple (a foreigner married to a Thai woman) were to buy property (land), it would have to be done under the Thai woman's name, but the foreigner husband's name would also be listed on the property. Although the husband wouldn't own the property, the Thai wife couldn't sell it without the husband's permission. That was 15 years ago, so the laws may have changed by now.

wrong. how do you live with such self hatred ? a lifetime of selling out. now trying to make up for it with extreme thinking. It's not "self-hatred"; it's self-acceptance. Do you doubt that what I say above is true? Do you doubt that humans have caused the death of more living beings and even extinction of species than any other bring on this planet? -

But nowhere does it say what, if anything, he was doing or had done to the dog, which might have provoked it into assaulting him. I also love dogs. I currently have about 20 of them, all strays, which I have "rescued" from the road that runs past my mountain home. People from the cities come up here to dump their unwanted dogs. Although they fight among themselves, I've never had any of them attack me or anyone else who visits here. They do bark at them, which is a good thing for me - like an alarm - but never physically attack them. And yes, the police, as they are want to do as humans, killed the dog to "solve" the problem. I prefer the "Thai counterparts" approach which to relocate the dog. -

It's a dog. No, the most dangerous and destructive species on this planet is humans. -
As a US citizen who has lived in Thailand for over 20 years, I can only reply, "No, we don't!" 😉

If you do want to consider the species, which species in this incident is the most vicious and dangerous?
