  1. The terms "Trump" and "Intelligence Briefing" are an oxymoron.
  2. So, is a "transgender woman" a man who dresses and acts like a woman or a woman who dresses and acts like a man? I know here it means the former. Would this act bar women (the latter above, or even "real" women) from using men's restrooms also?
  3. All you say is true except for the last sentence. The popular vote does not determine the votes in the Electoral College, the Senate, or the House. Trump did not get a majority of the popular vote. The last figures I saw on CNN yesterday showed him with 49.9% of the popular vote. (Harris got about 48.5%). 49.9% is not a majority. 50.1% is a majority. 49.9% is a plurality, but yes, it means Trump did win the popular vote.
  4. The votes in the Electoral College determine the winner. Trump won that. I was just posting that Trump did not get a MAJORITY of the votes cast in the popular vote. He did get a PLURALITY of those votes, but for the presidential election, it's only the Electoral Votes that count.
  5. Trump's 'huge lie' shows 'he’s taking everyone for an idiot' So, does this surprise anyone except the voters who voted for him? And, I suspect it doesn't even surprise some of them.
  6. I would only support the deportation of "illegal" immigrants who have been convicted of criminal acts. I would not support the deportation of "illegal" immigrants who did enter the country illegally but are seeking asylum. I believe their cases should be heard, and then, if their claims of asylum are accepted, they should be allowed to stay in the USA, my home country. If their claims are not accepted, then they should be deported.
  7. Yes, I know. It's determined by votes in the Electoral College. I did see this morning on CNN, however, that Trump did not get a majority of the popular vote. His percentage now is 49.9%. Harris' is about 48.5%, or something like that.
  8. Yes, but apparently, a plurality of voters (49.9% the last I saw) either didn't think about that, didn't care, or actually support that.
  9. After Trump's election as president, does this surprise anyone? Everyone should be prepared to see things like this and worse during the next four years.
  10. Too late! My fellow citizens have either been conned of actually have the same values Trump has. We'll (USA) will have to suffer through his presidency. Hopefully, there will be something left four years from now from which we (USA) can rebuild our government, economy, and country.
  11. Hopefully, there will not be an "Exodus' of left-wing voices. I know mine will not go away. Trump's administration will start deteriorating in a couple of years, and most of those who voted for Trump will start realizing what a poor choice they made. Then, hopefully, the left-wing voices will still be here and offer a way out of the devastation Trump and his cronies have caused. .
  12. I think appointing anti-Semitic cabinet members is very disappointing, but nothing I didn't expect from Trump.
  13. Sadly, I know how she feels....
  14. Trump and Musk are two despicables who will soon prove utterly destructive to our country (USA).
  15. I must be among the 31%. I trust CNN, but certainly not Fox. Also, in thinking about all these surveys, remember that Trump won the general election vote by about 52% to 47%, so it certainly appears the majority of at least the voting public in the USA can't be trusted to make rational decisions either.
  16. I primarily watch CNN, and it doesn't seem "in shambles" to me.
  17. There are no forms of energy that we harvest from any source that does not harm the environment. All technology harms the environment.
  18. You're correct, except the ergs out /ergs in always show a net "loss" of ergs. These ergs are called "lost' because they are unusable by humans and are called "pollution." Most of them are egrs in the form of heat.
  19. There is no such thing as "renewable" or "green" energy. Those are just marketing terms. All technology, especially "energy-creating" technology, pollutes and costs more energy than it ever makes available for human use. No technology "creates" energy; it just harvests existing energy from one source, usually converts it, and then makes it available for human use in another source. Good examples of these are both solar and wind-powered energy technologies.
  20. Trump's presidency will affect me because virtually EVERYTHING he stands for is against my values. But more disappointing than that is knowing that over half of the voting public in my home country was either so dumb they were conned by his lies or, worse yet, actually have the same agenda he does. I am deeply saddened right now.
  21. I suggest you put the divorce on hold and extend your marriage until you can get some other type of visa... 😉
  22. Strike three! Democracy and any hope of a sane government are now out...
