Again, I will say that Germany, under the Nazis, did not have a socialist economy. Certainly, all the MAGA followers are victims of Trump. You could even say that people like me are victims of Trump. I used to talk to and listen to conservatives and understood their support of some of their policies, even though I disagreed with them. Now, I, like most others in the US, am resident in only one of two camps, neither of which have absolutely any respect for the other. This is Trump's legacy, and, as I've said before, it has reduced the US political scene to a level from which there may be no return.

On the contrary. My philosophy is one of love and cooperation. That is why I advocated socialism and communism first. Both are based on having the entire community contribute as much as they can to the state's assets and then have the government, in the case of socialism, distribute that according to need, and in the case of communism, assure all have equal access to all assets. Capitalism is the form of economy that encourages competition, resulting in an economically tiered society. I didn't make Trump up. If I had, he would have been a lot less destructive than he really is. He is the one who hates. Just listen to or read any of his statements.

Thailand And 16 Other Countries Call For Release Of All Hostages In Gaza
WDSmart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Neither has Israel. This conflict did not start on Oct 7. It's been going on for over 70 years. -
There is much misunderstanding in the West about just what socialism and communism are. At least in the US, we've been indoctrinated to hate them by having them associated with such political groups as the Nazis ("national socialists") and Soviets ("communism"). Socialism is an economic system in which everyone contributes what they can to the assets of the state and receives what they need to the best of the state's ability to provide. Communism is an economic system in which all assets of the state belong equally to everyone. Neither Nazis nor the Soviets had either one of these.

Socialism, hopefully, leads to communism, which should be everyone's target economic system. I call Trump a "fascist" because his aspirations, IMO, fit the definition of "fascism" in the Oxford online dictionary: "an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization." Biden, IMO, is "okay." I'd rather see someone else running on the Democrat ticket. My first choice would be Pete Buttigieg, but I don't think he'd have much of a chance with the US electorate right now. We need to get through this next presidential cycle, and then maybe there will be more favorable choices.

The Democrats are better than the Republicans because they are more liberal. I'm a far-left liberal, a socialist, actually, so I believe the Democrats are better...not great...but better. Trump is a fascist, and many other derogatory terms I could use. I believe he will spend some time in jail and maybe even prison if he is not elected president. Will he win the Nov election? I don't know. I certainly hope not. I think if he does, the USA will have sunk to a level from which we will never be able to recover.

To see the reaction from the left is why. Is that why, really? Don't you care anything about what he'll do to the nation or maybe even the world? I know there are a lot of people out there who have been conned by him, but you don't seem like someone like that Well, if you're looking for a reaction from the left, you'll certainly get one, but from me, it will just be one of disgust. I'll be disgusted that there are so many of my fellow citizens that, for whatever reason, would vote for him. That will greatly reduce, if not completely destroy, my respect for my country. But, of course, I decided long ago to retire in Thailand and plan to spend the rest of my life here. So, other than the disappointment of seeing my homeland changing in such a despicable manner, I will continue to enjoy my life here.

Thailand And 16 Other Countries Call For Release Of All Hostages In Gaza
WDSmart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, but a release of all the hostages would have to be conditional on a permanent ceasefire, withdrawal of all IDF from Gaza, and the beginning of negotiations on a two-state solution. -
wow. the fact you received any positive emoji responses from this is appalling. you now have people on here supporting waterboarding trump just because. how far many of you have fallen is quite scary. but you are fighting for democracy as you say so i get it. heaven forbid i ever forget to pay a parking ticket and some of you are in charge of punishment. seems there are a number of posters here who think torturing the former president is a good idea. you make me sick. Nobody is supporting my suggestion to waterboard Trump "just because." We have plenty of good reasons. I would not think waterboarding would be an appropriate punishment for not paying a parking ticket or any other fine. I'm sorry I made you sick. I hope Trump is eventually put into prison for some of the many violations he's charged with. There, he will not be waterboarded, at least by the prison officials. How the other prisoners treat him, however, may be welcomed by people like me.

Pregnant Husky Scalded with Hot Water by Owner, Sparks Outrage

"neither side will accept defeat is total BS" Yes, that quote is "total 'BS'." My name is "Bill Smart," so my initials are indeed "BS." But seriously, @charleskerins, do you think if Trump wins, the Democrats will believe his election was legitimate with all the gerrymandering in some states and changes they have made to voter registration requirements, voting restrictions on mail-ins, and early voting? I believe if Trump wins there will be a lot of serious doubts as to the legitimacy of the election and legal challenges. And if Trump loses, his supporters won't take that for an instance, and there will be chaos for sure. Again, my belief is that there will be "blood in the streets," which also could be abbreviated as "BS."

Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
WDSmart replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I hope "foreign income" does not include pensions, like USA Social Security payments. -
I am bracing myself for what will happen after the November elections. Neither side will accept defeat, and I fear no matter who wins, there will be blood in the streets. Of course, I'll be watching it all on CNN from my easy chair, safe in the mountains of northeastern Thailand. I just hope whoever wins, my Social Security benefits will not be affected.

American Tourist Dies After Falling Off a Hotel Balcony in Pattaya
WDSmart replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Unbelievable! I just don't understand why so many Farangs (and some Thais) die in Pattaya from falling off a balcony! The obvious suspicion is they were pushed off, but there seems to be one reported on AseanNow at least once a week! And I suspect there could be more than that not reported here. What's happening in Pattaya? -
Looming Over Trump’s Conviction: Reversal by the '13th Juror'
WDSmart replied to Social Media's topic in World News
In my non-lawyer opinion, I think most of the arguments concerning the verdict's inability to DIRECTLY link any of the three illegal handling of funds (which are misdemeanors) to the felony crime of using them to try to influence an election. I think it is more like this: It is like three women breaking into a young man's house at night, each of the women carrying their own pistol, and then each firing several times at the man sleeping in bed, resulting in his death from a single gunshot wound. As far as guilt is concerned, it wouldn't matter which woman's gun fired the shot that killed the man. The two who completely missed would not be charged with a misdemeanor of firing a gun in a private residence. They would all be charged with the felony of murder. Their intentions or success would not be questioned. -
British Expat Arrested For Punching and Killing Russian Man
WDSmart replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The charges here, if any, will all depend on what the "sexual advances" were. If they were enough to be considered "assault," then I think the Brit will not be charged. If they were just leers and words, then the Brit should be charged with at least assault or even something worse, like involuntary manslaughter (if there is such a thing in Thailand). -
Thailand Faces Economic Question: China and EV Cars
WDSmart replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Okay, I didn't click on the link in your first reply because below it, you included a photo of a kind of car I wasn't looking for. If you can stretch to ฿500,000 I would recommend the Neta V So, I assumed the link was to a car like that. Anyway, I've clicked on the link in your second post and, like I said, I think this one is exactly what I've been looking for - the Wuling Air EV. Thanks for posting the link again.
