I wouldn't say it was a "complete failure." Now, Iran knows the strength of Israel's defensive capabilities. That could either deter it from striking again, or it could have revealed weak spots in those capabilities. We'll know again soon if Israel decides to retaliate.

Wrong. They all have a chance to learn to live with each other. Problems are caused by the belief that one side needs to win. When I used the phrase "...any chance of success" above, I didn't intend it to mean "win." I intended it to mean having enough leverage to negotiate a solution so that they can "live with each other." I assume that will be a two-state solution.

I like the idea of thoughtful responses, we need more. Given Iran's surprisingly poor technological showing, Israel should announce they intend to fully support and protect the Irani people, and that all future responses will target only Iran's brutal regime. The generals targeted in Syria were just that. So was Qasem Soleimani in 2020. My point is neither Iran nor Hamas or any Arab country I know of can challenge Israel militarily. They have to use different tactics. Killing Israeli civilians using terrorist attacks or assassinations, and capturing and holding them as hostages are the only two tactics I think Iran and Hamas have right now that would have any chance of success.

That's why I suggested that Iran instruct some of its operatives inside Israel to kill three Israelis. That would be more of a "proportional response" and probably more successful.

I think Iran has taken the wrong approach. Assuming Iran has operatives in Isreal, here's what I think they should have done: - Readied all their missiles and drones and leaked information to Israel that they would release them at the same time at the same hour Israel attacked their mission in Syria on Apr 1. - Just before that time, increase all their military offensive preparation activity to focus Israel's attention on having their defensive forces ready. - At the time of the Apr 1 attack, have three of their operatives in Israel kill three Israelis- three Israelis for three Iranians. - There should be one in the north, one in the middle of Israel, and one in the south. - The three Israelis should consist of one elderly man, one young woman (preferably a mother), and one child about ten years old. - After these killings have been accomplished, Iran should declare its retaliatory action was over, had been successful to their satisfaction, and draw down its offensive weapons (keeping on the alert with their defensive weapons in case of offensive action from Israel.) That's what I would have suggested they should have. As an explanation, doing this would show Israelis: - They cannot depend on their superior military forces to protect them. - They are vulnerable wherever they are. - They are vulnerable whoever they are.

All space exploration projects by all countries should stop. We have done nothing so far but pollute our planet, litter our outer atmosphere with debris, and scatter abandoned equipment on other worlds. Just as we are destroying the biosphere of our own planet, we seem to want to go to other worlds to do the same. We are like a cancer on the Earth. I stand by the "indiscriminate bombing." The IDF just bombed everything without any regard for what it was. They did not just bomb military targets, they bombed apartments, hospitals, markets, everything.
