  1. I agree with you, but I also believe that criticism, ridicule, and offensive cartoons or text should also be allowed for all ideas, religions, political ideologies, and people.
  2. O I've been required to take all the tests you describe when renewing my driver’s licence, especially for my last couple of licences, and I’ve lived in Thailand for over 20 years. Also, a computer test on the Rules of the Road and sitting through a 30-minute video, all in Thai. I usually try to slip out of that one after about 5 minutes.
  3. I just turned 80 and expect to live about another 10 years, or until about 2036.
  4. My understanding (but I'm not a legal expert on this) is that you are right: non-citizens can’t own land here. Thais can own land, and that includes single women. If you are a non-citizen (or a Thai man) and married to a Thai woman, your name should be on the title of any land she owns, and she cannot sell it without your permission. If you want to give her permission to sell it, you can do that by going down to the government offices and signing your approval. I'd advise you to take all your documents - marriage, passport, etc. - when you do that. However, you don't own that land, so you cannot sell it without her approval either. And if she dies, you cannot inherit it.
  5. Anti-Semites hate both Jews and Arabs. Look up the word "Semite" to see that. I think most of this hatred by the West is due to Christianity. I think most people who are "Jew-haters" right now are really "Israeli-haters." They hate the way Israel is conducting its genocide on the Palestinians in order to own all the land in Palestine. I also think racism is practiced by all people. It's just the way we are. We are uncomfortable with people who don't look or think or act the way we are used to.
  6. I switched to this method several years ago, and it is my assumption that the deposit has to be in a Thai bank.
  7. Biden, as usual, is 100% correct. ☹️
  8. I think Anthropic and all other suppliers ought to have voided their contract with the USA Department of War when it changed its name from the Department of Defense.
  9. You have a body that needs food. Try not eating for a month. A popular saying in Zen is, "When hungry, eat. When tired, sleep." Just be.
  10. I can only comment on #3... My main bank account is in my name only. It's my understanding that it has to be that way, so I can use it to get my Long-term Visa yearly extensions. HOWEVER, I do give my wife the authority to withdraw money using the bank book and her signature. This way, if I can't go into the bank, like if I'm in a hospital or dead, she can take my bankbook in and withdraw all the funds and put them into her bank account, This solution doesn't prevent her from with drawing the funds, but is good enough for me.
  11. The title of this document is wrong. It should read “minors,” plural, not singular. 😡
  12. Yes, zen also has walking meditation. It's called "kinhin." But no thanks on your offer to explain anything about any kind of mediation, for two reasons; 1. Meditation (of the kind I practice) doesn’t need “explaining.” That, in fact, is counterproductive to the activity. You don’t have to understand anything; you just need to sit (or walk, or do dishes, sweep the floor, etc.) to remove all intellectual activity (delusions) and “Just Be.” I’ve practiced this kind of meditation (zazen) for over fifty years.
  13. Life needs a purpose, it is not just enough to exist! Your perception of your life does not need a goal or purpose. In fact, if you do believe it does, it is because you believe “you” are a separate, distinct "self” instead of realizing the very idea of “you” is a delusion. There is no “you”; there is only Just This! To help you realize this, I suggest you try sitting zazen. 🙏
  14. You might need a purpose in life for it to have meaning, but I'd recommend you free yourself from the belief that life has to have meaning. Just live!
  15. I find your disagreement with my claim that I’ve been in agreement with you “ONLY ONCE” during recent years to be very regular.
