  1. And before that the graduated scheme. And after serps was S2P. Its a pretty complex history despite its seemingly simple definition.
  2. Its not a discrepancy. I just explained why. Can't you read??
  3. Thats not how the state pension works. You don't take the 2024 maximum and apply it to everyone who's been in payment for 20 years!
  4. Whats wrong with finding fault with the points you made. Why so defensive? I like cities more than beach areas. So an easy solution. Mainly though its the tourists and expats in pattaya i'm not thrilled about. Plus their age range.
  5. Do you live in pattaya? Sun is bad for your skin. I wouldn't go near the sea of course. Cheap accommodation is not a hobby or pastime??? The gyms are spoiled by the skanky people pattaya attracts. There are 2 malls worth visiting. Been here nearly 2 years. Finding it a bit boring now.
  6. Georgegeorgia gets about fine with his. Its the big steps at nirun where he gets a bit wobbly.
  7. This company still registered in the island of nevis in the caribbean?
  8. Have a mate who uses ed visa's. He doesn’t study, its just a blag to live here. Mainly for the <50's. Said he knows guys who have been doing them for years. He has to do a border run once per year i think. As for budget, i spend far less than i thought i would. But i'm not funding a girls lifestyle and no desire to accumulate stuff of value either. I could live here incredibly cheap if i had too (i think i do 555) - folks love to nitpick over statements like this. But but but ...what about that triple heart bypass etc etc.
  9. Elite. But neither do education visa's.
  10. My visa has no qualifications. No capital or income requirements at all.
  11. Imagine kalasin, but bigger 😉
  12. OP should've brought a travel mop to keep busy.
  13. I'm 49 and very healthy. Keep +1.5m in the thai bank. Bangkok bank app has a 'quick display' feature without a pin code. My plan would be to show the balance to demonstrate i have a deposit. +10m in cash is quickly accessible from western account.
  14. Congleton is an affluent area. I used to live nearby. Its also a Little IT hub, so no doubt her partner will be an IT remote worker. £100k minimum earnings for him, if they live around there as a family.
  15. You may have had a refund of your contributions and therefore no accrued service. Whilst this rule is not applied in recent times for public sector schemes, historically it may have been.
  16. How many years membership in the scheme? ...possibly less than 2?
  17. In the UK i have a 6% 1 year term deposit maturing soon. New rate about 4.5% Got too much already invested in the markets so i'll probably stick with declining interest rates. By no means ideal.
  18. I had a few tests done in UK a few years back. A free over 40's program available through your local GP. No issues but i'm sure only the basics. I should get a full check, its a good point!
  19. I'm pretty lazy, virtually no cardio exercise (unlike yourself, i believe). One little hack i have adopted is swap out 50% of the rice with lots of tomatoes. Its taken a bit of time to find my calorie neutral point just by looking at food. But the talk of unhealthy thai food is nonsense, as you already know.
  20. In the (almost) 2 years i've been here... Meiji milk, 2 litres, was 85b now 99b. Mcgarret rolled oats, 45b now 56b. 10 eggs are 69b in villa. Can't remember before price. But up i'm sure. Bananas went up quick, then down, now up again?? ...130b for a bunch of 14. But in the same timeframe, since the day i arrived here and after 2 years costs and expensive visa, i'm about 12m baht up. GBP to THB up lately, but when gbp weakens when uk interest rates drop my domestic uk funds will go up nicely. Bases are covered!
  21. I eat rice or noodles 5 times per week. Milk, sugar, bananas, oats ...every day. Pizza, burgers, beer ...at weekends. I eat everything. 25 years of looking this great. My ability for consistency is off the scale.
  22. Don’t use this ....use our's instead! Come on don’t be naive. Fear sells. Added: no mention of maturity dates, right? no need to reply i already know the answer.
  23. Fair enough for reading the literature but you don’t actually understand when, why and who they are for. Because how could you? Offshore bonds are not just used in connection with periods of non UK residency. They can also be suitable for people for have never left the UK and never will. Confused? So what else don’t you understand about them. Everything really. You focus on exit charges but what about enhanced allocation, for example. Personal finance is a strange subject. It brings out some peculiar over-confidence in folks.
  24. No doubt similar to our offshore bonds, which don't have one and every other offshore bond i've ever seen. So lets see these policy terms.
