In the early hours of September 4, at approximately 03.00, rescue teams from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya were dispatched following reports of an injury caused by a collapsed toilet in a rental room located in Soi Sukhumvit Pattaya 46, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. Upon arrival at the scene, which consisted of a row of single-story rental units, the rescue team entered room number 8 to find Mr. Pattharun, a 22-year-old male, lying on the bathroom floor in distress. He had sustained a large laceration on the back of his right thigh, with blood pooling on the floor. The rescue team quickly provided first aid before rushing him to Pattaya City Hospital for urgent medical care. An inspection of the bathroom revealed that the toilet had collapsed and broken, leaving sharp fragments across the floor. Bloodstains were found throughout the room, evidence of the severity of the injury. Mr. Bird (a pseudonym), a friend of the injured man, recounted the incident, stating that they had been sitting outside the room when Mr. Pattharun went into the bathroom. Shortly after, a loud crash was heard, followed by his friend's cries for help. Cathay Pacific's decision followed the detection of an engine component failure in one of their planes, using a Rolls-Royce manufactured engine, which malfunctioned after takeoff Cathy Pacific are inspecting all 48 of its Airbus A350 planes as a precaution, and said in a statement "Thus far we have identified a number of the same engine components that need to be replaced, spare parts have been secured and repair work is underway. Each aircraft is undergoing a rigorous inspection. Upon completion, the aircraft cleared for operation will return to service, while those identified with technical issues will undergo further repair and maintenance work," Mr. Chai Iamsiri, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Airways, stated that the airline has no plans to suspend the use of its Airbus A350 fleet, which comprises 23 aircraft. He reassured that Thai Airways’ maintenance division conducts thorough inspections of all aircraft before each flight, adhering to stringent safety standards. The incident occurred around 03:10, amid rainy conditions, contributing to the tragic chain of events. The accident began when a white Hino trailer truck, carrying an empty container, collided with a 10-wheeler Isuzu truck loaded with flour. The impact caused the Isuzu truck to tip over, blocking multiple lanes of the highway near kilometre marker 7+600 in the Khlong Si area of Khlong Luang district. As vehicles struggled to avoid the overturned truck, a black Toyota Fortuner, driven by Mr. Napat Panthaweegan, 51, collided with the 10-wheeler. Although he sustained only minor injuries, Mr. Napat’s vehicle was trapped in the wreckage. Moments later, a white Toyota Revo pickup truck, carrying three refrigeration technicians, crashed into the scene with devastating force. All three occupants of the Revo were pronounced dead at the scene. Rescue teams, including volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation and motorway rescue personnel, responded promptly. They used specialised equipment to extricate the bodies from the crushed pickup truck. The deceased have been identified as Mr. Prawit Kaewphu, 29, the driver, Mr. Songkran Oonsantia, 42, who was seated beside him, and Mr. Witthawat Wongvien, 33. The men were returning to their workplace in Bangkok after a job in Khon Kaen province. According to Mr. Phasthanat Rueangrit, 52, the driver of the trailer truck, he had been driving in the left lane when he attempted to avoid a parked vehicle on the shoulder. This maneuver led to the collision with the Isuzu truck, which then lost control and overturned. The subsequent collisions involving the Fortuner and Revo trucks occurred shortly thereafter. The incident occurred near Sala 1 in Sriracha Subdistrict. The body, found approximately 10 metres from the pier, was that of an unidentified male, estimated to be between 35 and 45 years old. The man was wearing a green sports shirt and camouflage shorts. Upon examination, two gashes were found on his forehead, both about 4mm long, likely caused by impact with a hard object. The body bore additional distinctive features, including a tattoo of a Kabuki demon on the left side of the chest and the words "Born in the Reign of King Rama IX" on the right chest. Multiple stitch mark scars were also observed on the left knee, indicating a previous surgery. Blood stains were discovered on nearby rocks, but no signs of assault were evident. Authorities estimate that the man had been dead for at least five hours before his body was discovered. It is initially suspected that he may have collapsed, hitting his head on the rocks, or he could have been a fisherman whose body drifted to the shore. Further investigation revealed that the deceased who was later identified as Mr. Samat Wongdokmai, 35, a resident of Chalong Market. According to family members, Mr. Samat had gone out to collect scrap metal in a public canal in Chalong Market during the rain the previous night. It is believed that he may have been swept by the water, into a drainage pipe, causing his injuries and drowning him, before eventually flowing into the sea where his body was found. The accident occurred at approximately 19:40, on September 3. Pol. Lt. Col. Channarong Sansang, Deputy Inspector of Khao Chaison Police Station, received the report of the fatal train accident, which took place between Khao Chaison and Ban Ton Don stations in Village 5, Khuan Khanun Subdistrict, Khao Chaison District, Phatthalung. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found the body of a man lying face up beside the railway tracks, approximately 100 metres from an unofficial railroad crossing in the village. The victim’s head was missing, and his body had suffered severe injuries. Nearby, a blue Honda motorcycle with Phatthalung license plate number was discovered. The deceased was identified as a 32-year-old local resident. During the investigation, a local resident who had been cutting grass for his cattle at the time of the accident reported hearing a loud crash as the train collided with something. The train then stopped, and the resident approached the train driver, who mentioned that he thought the train had struck two individuals, but only one body was located. The resident clarified that he had often seen the victim walking with his dog, suggesting that the driver might have mistaken the dog for a second person. The train eventually resumed its journey. The victim’s wife provided a statement, explaining that her husband had gone to work earlier in the evening and had not returned home by nightfall. Concerned, she saw reports on social media about a train accident and called her mother, asking her to check with relatives about her husband's whereabouts. Fearing the worst, they went to the scene, where she recognised her husband’s motorcycle and immediately realised that he had been killed in the accident. Authorities searched the area and located the missing head and transported the body to a local hospital for further examination. Despite the man's efforts to navigate the strong currents, both he and his motorcycle were quickly overpowered and carried away by the rushing waters. Local villagers immediately organised a search and rescue operation. At around 09:30, the man's lifeless body was discovered nearly one kilometre downstream from where he had attempted to cross the river. A four vehicle collision on the Pikun Thong-Ban Rai Road in Ratchaburi on September 3, resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals and left three others critically injured. The accident occurred when a black Toyota Revo pickup truck collided with several vehicles, causing a chain reaction that involved a Honda sedan, a Toyota Sport Rider, and a blue Hino truck. CCTV footage captured the moment the black pickup, traveling at high speed, rear-ended the Toyota Sport Rider, causing it to veer into oncoming traffic and crash head-on with the other vehicles. Police Colonel Songwut Charoenwichayadej, the head of the Mueang Ratchaburi Police Station, along with rescue teams and medical personnel, quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a Honda sedan severely damaged with two deceased individuals inside, identified as Mr. Chamnong, an assembler, and Mr. Manoon, 67, a Ratchaburi resident. Nearby, the black Toyota Revo pickup was overturned, with three injured passengers trapped inside. The injured were identified as Mr. Kla, 40, the driver of the black pickup, and two women, Mrs. Jaew, 73, and Ms. Kanjana, 39, both in critical condition. They were swiftly transported to Ratchaburi Hospital for emergency treatment. Police were alerted at around 13:00, on September 3, prompting the immediate dispatch of officers from the Karon Police Station, including Deputy Inspector Phirawat Yodtor and other local law enforcement officials, alongside a forensic team and emergency responders from the Phuket Ruamjai Rescue Foundation. Upon arrival, they found the area surrounded by curious onlookers, both locals and tourists. The area was quickly cordoned off to preserve the scene for forensic examination. The preliminary investigation by the forensic team and a medical examiner from Vachira Phuket Hospital revealed that the victim had sustained multiple injuries. Notably, there were bruises around the eyes, cuts on both arms extending to the bone, and further bruising under the chin and inside the mouth. The injuries suggested that the man had been dead for approximately eight hours before his body was discovered. The forensic team noted that the nature of the injuries, particularly the deep cuts on both arms, made suicide unlikely. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities considering it foul play. Pictures from responders . A fire broke out in a used car dealership located in Soi Sukhaphiban 5, Soi 5, Intersection 16, Bang Khen District, Bangkok, in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred at 05:00, on September 3, at the dealership situated at No. 28, Soi Sukhaphiban 5, Soi 5, Intersection 16, Sukhaphiban Road, Tha Raeng Subdistrict. The business, which deals in second-hand vehicles, was housed in a single-story structure made of steel with a metal sheet roof. The fire is reported to have originated inside the building, completely engulfing the structure and the vehicles within. A total of seven cars were completely destroyed in the blaze, and cannot yet be identified. Four others which sustained fire damage, were 2 BMWs and 2 pickups. The fire consumed an estimated area of approximately 120 square metres. Firefighters from Bang Khen Fire and Rescue Station managed to extinguish the flames using water hose lines, and the fire was controlled and extinguished in just under an hour. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, as the fire completely destroyed the building, making it difficult to determine the origin.
