Pattaya does have a lot more to offer than the bar/girl/etc scene. The problem is that a vast majority of visitors to Pattaya go for those reasons, nothing wrong with that, but many then believe the whole of the Pattaya area, and the rest of Thailand is the same. As many have said, get away from the central area and you find a very diverse and normal way of life. I would describe the greater Pattaya area, as in the map below, and wonder how many have explored all these areas.

Went through BKK recently. After check in, you go through security checks and then down the stairs to immigration. At the bottom of the stairs the re entry desk was on the right hand side, in the far corner. This is before going through passport control/stamping. If you use priority check in I believe you need to asked to be let into that area, others can confirm this. You can take the forms and picture with you, or they will complete at the desk for a fee. When I went through immigration, passport queues were busy, but only one person waiting at re entry desk.
