  1. Thanks for the advice, but I asked how to document staying at a private residence and not how to game the system. Hopefully, this will be cleared up before the rules go into effect. This year we will be in Thailand in November and I will inquire about it.
  2. What about travelers, like my Thai girlfriend and I, who stay at a private residence? How do we document that?
  3. I think it will most likely have the opposite effect, especially for return visitors.
  4. How do you explain cases of long Covid in unvaccinated people?
  5. I don't care for suhsi, also. But, I enjoy all kinds of sushi. In fact, Japanese food is one of my favorites.
  6. Happy to say that I never had to send any of my dogs down the road so there wasn't any "next victim."
  7. My last two dogs were "rescue dogs." I had nothing to do with their upbringing with one of them having scars (rope burns around his neck) from abuse. Both were a pleasure to have and loved children. I really miss them.
  8. I get by with a flip phone and a laptop only because I am retired, although it is getting to the point where a smart phone may become a necessity.
  9. If any one of my dogs growled at me when I attempted to take a bone from them was soon down the road.
  10. In the U.S. many insurance companies will not issue a homeowners policy if you own certain breeds of dogs.
  11. I get these kinds of emails everyday in my SPAM file. Just delete them.
  12. Hawaii continues to price itself out of the market. Even mediocre hotels are ridiculously priced. Now the locals are hell-bent on shutting down the money making short-term rental industry, which includes surfer shacks like the one you rented.
  13. As long as he continues rant and rave over nonsense the trend will continue.
  14. She is a presidential candidate and not a president elect. We won't know who the official president elect is for a few months.
  15. Ever heard of starting out your meal with salad greens and a low-calorie dressing? Yes, I know it's normally not found in a typical Thai restaurant.
  16. If you can't buy a small wire cage trap with a trip plate, trying making one yourself or pay someone to make one. Make sure the bait is at the end farthest from the entry. As other have suggested drop off the cat miles away. Try an online search for what an appropriate trap looks like and how it works. Good luck. Another alternative is a pellet gun. I bought one to shoot mongooses which were attacking our baby chicks.
  17. I've always trapped cats that attack our two cats. They are taken to the local animal shelter.
  18. Fortunately, I don't suffer that much from our broken healthcare system. Being covered by both Medicare and Tricare I rarely have out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare even pays for the annual Medicare deductible. I don't pay for Medicare drug coverage because my prescription meds are greatly discounted through ExpressScripts. I basically agree with everything else you mentioned. We are being screwed by the socialistic woke crowd. Really feel sorry for my children and grandchildren.
  19. Are you saying he is wearing the wrong uniform?
  20. Paid $8 a seat for JAL flights on Priceline. Less desirable seats were free.
  21. Before Covid I booked through CheapOair until they started offering flights, but would not book them, no matter how many times I tried. Then I found Priceline. Tried booking directly with JAL. They were more expensive than Priceline. Our flight to BBK involves two stopovers, but segments all on one ticket. May cost more, but better results if any problems arise like delays, etc.
  22. It's an American company. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booking_Holdings
  23. As China's economy cools off more Chinese money is moving offshore, despite attempts by Xi to stop it. Evidently, some of that money is winding up in Thailand.
  24. I missed reading this earlier. Warren Buffet says his reason for selling Apple stock is that he'd rather pay the capital gains tax now before rates go up.
  25. I said a major market correction and not an economic crash. You yourself have said the stock market is not the economy. As for Buffet, he has been a net seller for several years, but has stepped up his selling because valuations have continued to what he feels are unsustainable levels and not a crash in the economy.
