    Health risk at Songkran in Chiang Mai old city. Bacterial infection: Near the moat(boundary of the old city and outside). Quite a few locals splash filthy water from the pool (into which life sewerage flows). So during that period, I always stay put during the day. I stockpile enough food beforehand and avoid going out.

    Very true. Things look quite different depending on where we stand. As well as by how fortunate we are. To foreigners, with certain level of financial security, Thailand often looks like a kind of paradise(even if not being superrich back home). But to the underprivileged among the locals, the whole life could be quite tough and hard.

    Today's lunch: Moo-ping(Thai BBQ pork) and salad with rice. Ingredients: Other than warm rice. Moo-ping: Lean pork, roasted sesame, and starch. Salad: Coleslaw fresh tomato, (pre-cooked) carrot, onion, Seasonings: Moo-ping: Pepper, grated garlic, soy, oyster, and fish sauce, sugar(soaked in the seasonings for 3 days). Salad: Soy and oyster sauce, vinegar, and pepper.

    While preparing for overseas travel, there are quite a few things to make sure. So, a lot better if the prospect traveler can do it well before the arrival date. Unsure it may be changed for the better in the future though.
