  1. 10 reasons why visa waiver scheme for Indians to be cancelled LOL.
  2. Click bait, AKA BS. Increasingly common in Thaiger news.
  3. Surprise, surprise. E Cigarette, supposedly illegal here. But openly available in Lazada. And I often see the people smoking it in the street. Have never seen them busted...
  4. These scumbags often later(after their returning home) pretend as if they were victims of the inferior prison conditions while they were behind bars abroad. Always do their best to defend their rights while defying other people's right to live in peace.
  5. I suspects these lowlifes must have been doing the same thing back home as well. Doesn't really look like the First Timer.
  6. Looks like the law and order is better kept here, than UK today. Their police is said to be less than reluctant to respond to call; saying underfunded and understaffed.
  7. Quite possibly. While they are on the run, no concern for other road users' safety. Might have hit someone else as well. Lucky, it didn't happen.
  8. Ideal final destination to those sick Cheapskates; all by the courtesy of Thai Govt...
  9. Snatching other people's bags. Sped away on rental bike. Promptly busted. Turning own holiday into nightmare, by themselves...
  10. Another 1st World Trash, Banged Up Abroad...
  11. Strongly agree. Shameless crime spree in own travel destination. Not an ounce of respect to other travelers and the country of their visit.
  12. Is it most common among those men in uniform? In the past 20 years, I saw quite a few cops drink during their lunch time(often at the table of road side diners). And the during March-May(hottest season in the central and northern regions), daytime drinking seems more frequent among civilian workers as well; local diners' cooks and shopkeepers often sip beer while on the job.
  13. Today's Cooking Hack: How to make a Poached Egg without burst(in a microwave oven). 1-Pour a little water into bowl(larger one is better; contents won't spill out easily while cooking). 2-Crack an egg into it(water controls the temperature rise). 3-Make a few small holes on yolk(serves gas escape while heated). 4-Set the microwave to low(minimum) power(100-200w; depending on your machine). 5-Put a gentle cover on its top. 5-Cook it for 3-4 minutes(time duration depends of your machine's minimum output). Advisable to try a couple of times, and find out the most suitable setting. Good luck...
  14. Good morning. This morning, around 4am, I woke up to the sound of unseasonal rain(quite unlikely at this time of the year in northern Thailand). Later, it also started to thunder. Today's pre-dawn breakfast: Soymilk Soup Noodle with poached egg. Ingredients: Yellow noodle, Chinese cabbage, pumpkin, onion, okra, soymilk, garlic shoots(chopped up to inch), egg, water. Seasonings: Chicken stock, soy, oyster, and fish sauce, grated ginger.
  15. When genuine prescribed documents are produced, they are unlikely to say No. Unless the applicant is blackmarked for something. The most common cases where immigration officers exercise their Discretion: Frequent repeat visa-waiver entrant at the land borders. Or repeat tourist visa application at Thai embassy in the neighboring countries. Mostly for the suspicion of illegal employment/business in Thailand. These things actually happened around 2010s. I know someone who got a warning stamp from Thai embassy in Vientiane(Lao capital). And it said that the future tourist visa application might be rejected.
  16. Future hurdles could include the rise of electronic travel gates and the potential phase-out of traditional passports in favour of digital identification. Senseless 23rd century fantasy...
  17. Is that about Non-Immigrant Retirement OA? That visa is issued by the Thai embassy at applicants' home country. They only have to prove they have that amount in own account at home(not in Thailand). But they have to have an overseas health insurance cover valid for a year(to cover their stay period). And when they apply for its extension next year in Thailand, they have to prove they have THB800K in their Thai bank account(fund transfer from home country needed). As well as healthcare cover proof must be produced. In contrast, Retirement O(obtained through the status change of visa inside Thailand), no needs for that insurance coverage. But need to show the bank balance of THB 800K in own Thai bank account when applying for the change of visa(from tourist/visa waiver entry). And the same requirement applies when they apply for its extension.
  18. Today, the golden era for Thai visa agencies appears to be waning. The ease of obtaining 60-day tourist visas on arrival reduces the necessity for border runs, traditionally facilitated by these agencies... -------------------------------------------------------------------- Demand for Visa agents services will dry up, only if unlimited 60 day no-visa entry(back to back re-entry from the land border) is granted. Now, men in uniform at some border check points might need these brokers more than the Visa Run Expats for their unofficial income supplementary scheme. Saying No to frequent repeat re-entry by land. But saying Yes, when they came back with the help of the agents; in return for the kick-backs in Brown Envelop from the middlemen...
  19. It should be the standard procedure for many other trouble makers from outside.
  20. Consequently, the culprits were fined ฿3,000 each, had their tourist visas voided, and were deported back to Israel. Furthermore, they received lifetime bans from re-entering Thailand ----------------------------------------------------- That's the way to handle riff raff from outside. Kick out promptly, and don't let them in again, in any future.
  21. Hard working criminals. Should have used that energy and passion for something straight.
  22. What actually happens to the seized drugs? Is it going to be burnt?
  23. requires Thais to maintain a minimum of 50 million baht (approximately US$ 1.5 million) in fixed deposits for at least six months to gain entry to casino entertainment complexes.. Did they borrow that idea from the immigration bureau? As it sounds similar to the financial requirement for the non-immigrant o retirement LOL. Prescribed Account Balance and its deposit period, to be eligible.
  24. They must have targeted Middle-Class/and/or Above. Recent statistics say that 37.5% of the population is regarded Middle Class. While the top 1% holds 67% of the nation's wealth. population ratio of the middle class in thailand - Google Search Many of the poor Thais seem to marry(within the same social class) at earlier age(high teen to their 20s). While in case of the more affluent, career/wealth building tend to be their higher priority in life. Bangkok Post - Wedding belles in steep decline, study says So those scammers got the latter in their scope. The monied, but short of time for romance; their prey(like any other cases of this kind of crimes)...
