  1. They might serve spontaneously to survive there...
  2. Semi naked lowlifes. Arrived as the tourists, ended up as the Fugitive, for small amount Why cover the faces of these things? Should publicized for easier arrest.
  3. In response to the viral exposure, the Phuket Provincial Office announced an upcoming press conference to address the concerns raised. ---------------------------------------------- Looks like those bureaucrats sitting in A/C comfort panicked, all of sudden. As a travelling videographer covered the topic they have long pretended Non-Existing. Everyone knows huge amount of seafood consumed in that region. But few have ever thought about the "invisible" people working this hard to put the fish on someone else's table. Will his footage lead to any positive input from the provincial administration? As this "issue" was already addressed to this kingdom.
  4. I just watched his video. Just cannot understand why his program was criticized. Just because he called that migrant workers' living quarter "slum"? These migrant workers are certainly living in a poor condition. But there are devotional righteous people doing their best to make a change for the better there. And this YouTuber faithfully and sufficiently covered such people's efforts. As well as the actual improvement attained. I felt the negative critics on cyber space Very Shallow. Not referring to the program contents itself. Instead, just picking one negative phrase for senseless accusation.
  5. TDC(Thailand's Dumbest Criminal) nominee. Just like Jungle camo stands out pretty well in urban area... He did it to cover the cost of his education? Planning the redo from the primary school?
  6. Mostly agree. Visa waivers now from 93 nations. Including from alcohol-free 3rd world Muslim nations. While they are here, they often drink heavily. Since they don't seem to have much of the immunity to liquor(due to their background; unable to drink back home). I presume they can easily go out of control while drunk and it can trigger dangerous/aggressive behavior. So it is wise to implement precaution in advance. Even Thai bureaucrats sometimes make a smart decision.
  7. If merely 60 days stay permit allowance is Abused That Often, why not another(valid for 5 years)? LOL.
  8. And their Retirement Visa conditions are also a lot more relaxed than this kingdom. If you are over 55, you only have to show your passport to prove your age. No other requirements. While you need to produce a couple of other documents like: Proof of retirement, financial capability proof(e.g bank statement with the current balance) if you are under 55. I studied their retirement visa scheme years ago. And the above is the information I got at that time. Compared to Thailand, it is pretty recent; since 2016.
  9. Thai Hotels Association linked these activities to the rise in condos being rented out illegally... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I felt this is the fundamental "reason" behind this whole new proposal (60->30days for visa waivers). Hotel owners feel they got their clients snatched away by those condo owners(renting their vacant rooms to the "short term" tourists). So, they want the govt to reduce the chances of their "competitors", by cutting back visa waivers' stay permit period(they must have lobbied high profile MPs). And the "Unpermitted business operation by aliens", is just an excuse to cover up their real interests. I felt bit of De Javu. To me, it looked similar to another issue: Tobacco makers VS Vapor suppliers. Tobacco trade group actively lobbied politicians to outlaw e cigarette, in order to keep their monopoly in Thai smoking market. I am absolutely a non-smoker. And that is really none of my concern though.
  10. Collecting someone else's suitcase wrongly at the destination airport. A kind of long standing travel problem from early days. Not every traveler is careful enough to check the name on the Claim Tag tied to the handle of the bag. Some people attach a lot of stickers to their c/in baggage. For easier identification of own bag, in case several others might be carrying the same kind.
  11. Wrongly mistaken for a drug trafficker. The worst possible risk during foreign travel, far worse than getting own belongings stolen. What if someone slipped narcotics like stuff into my bag after baggage c/in? In such a case, extremely difficult to prove own innocence; next to impossible. That's why I always carry only in-cabin baggage; minimizing my payload.
  12. It is a kind of amazing. That bag with heaps of cannabis wasn't picked up at BKK apt security check in the first place. Several foreigners were busted for such cases.
  13. No real surprise. As the corruption and wrongdoings are so Institutionalized here. Just a few days ago, we have heard this... Ex-finance minister exposes Phuket police extortion | Thaiger Still, at least, Thailand got a better media freedom than Burma and N/Korea. As that can make a headline...
  14. Do you offer Above Average wage for that assignment?
  15. Cleaners creates enormous value to society, by keeping various public place clean. Maintaining and improving public hygiene, and serving the well-being of the countless. She is one of such great workforce, silent unsung hero to the whole society. And she(and the whole cleaners) certainly deserves better. Cleaners worth more to society than bankers, says thinktank - Google Search
  16. That SO* just created Another Reason why its home country should be delisted from the Visa waiver scheme of this kingdom Wish that thing dropped dead by the high voltage shock from the cop's stun gun.
  17. Not just in Canada. So easy to find articles on that topic. As easy as the coverage of DT's tax evasion things... https://www.google.com/search?q=is+the+boycotting+of+us+goods+spreading+worldwide%3F&sca_esv=3b736228b17ed96f&hl=en&sxsrf=AHTn8zoQ-4B0w5q1TQf
  18. Previous military regime(2014-2022) did it. And it made previous govt enormously unpopular. Especially after their policy of Border Blockade due to Coronavirus scare(2020-22). And anti-govt rally took place in major cities of this kingdom.
  19. Might be a difficult decision. Quite a few Visa Waivers from the first world, also making headlines each day as we see...
  20. Is DT also serving the interest of (Winnie-the)Pooh)? Winnie-the-Pooh is the well-known meme for Xi Jing Ping(current head of the Chinese Communist Party/Chinese President, since March 2013). And it is banned to show it publicly in the mainland of China; regarded "ridiculing" head of their state.
  21. Today's lunch: Crispy Pork Steak and Potato Salad on Curry Pilaf. Ingredients: Steak: Lean pork, grated garlic, salad oil and starch. Salad: (Pre-cooked) Onion, carrot, potato fresh cucumber. Pilaf: Rice, carrot, onion, snake beans(chopped), and water. *Cooked in the same tub. 22. a surge in business closures.. ------------------------------------------------------------- Bureaucrats are partly blame for that; keen to bust and close "nominee business". Their empty public stance getting Thai workers out of jobs. Bangkok Post - Thailand cracks down on nominee businesses
  23. One thing you should know. Whatever the head of the tax department says, the actual laws weren't passed/changed yet. That is why no one is sure about it.
  24. Another case of "Free Travel" offered, in return for trafficking? When they fail, they are still entitled to Long Term Free Accommodation, all by the courtesy of Thai govt.
