Which members do you think are Russian/Chinese/NK etc bots?
MalcolmB replied to gargamon's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
How much was good money? What do you think have been the improvements? And in which ways was it better before? I understand this is the third owners? George, Dan About Thailand and now Tiger? Usually companies are best under the original owners who built it up, the second owner is lazy and prefers an already established product and would be incapable of anctually starting from scratch and the third owner destroys it. Happens in family businesses that are passed down the generations as well. -

UAE Tourists Attacked by Motorcycle Taxi Driver in Patong
MalcolmB replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Are you two guys seeing each other? i think you may be over dramatizing it a bit with millions of taxi and motorcycle taxi trips happening every single day. There will always be a few idiot customers and incidents and misunderstandings because of language and cultural differences. i find taxi services in Thailand one of the positives here, easier to get a taxi here and much cheaper than the UK, and the Wins are very handy, quick and cheap. Some people just like to moan about everything instead of appreciating how good life here is. They can not cope very well. They should catch a taxi to the airport. -

Racism against Brits by Brits in the UK is rife these days. Maybe you should write in. Some people are highly sensitive and easily triggered these days, always looking to be “outraged”. -

Yeah, always throw your food at the young below minimum wage staff. They are the ones scamming you, that will show them, teach them some respect. Are you overweight? They might be trying to help you slim down. -

Thailand’s steel sales drop 8.7% amid cheap Chinese imports
MalcolmB replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Ok then how about this one. Apples with apples. U.S. steel companies and workers since the 1970s have probably received more government assistance than any industry in the country. This includes hundreds of import restrictions; tens of billions of dollars in state, local and federal subsidies and bailouts; exemptions from environmental regulations; special “Buy American” rules just for integrated steelmakers like U.S. Steel; and federal pension benefit guarantees. https://www.cato.org/commentary/us-steel-ubiquitous-market-failure -

To all you Thai speakers out there!
MalcolmB replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I can confirm that Thais do speak very rudely in Thai about Bob. Everywhere I go I hear it. Taxi drivers and prostitutes probably the worst, but even in 7/11, banks, restaurants etc. -

Thailand welcomes 20 million tourists in seven months
MalcolmB replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good job Thailand, they manage to entertain, feed and accommodate more people in six months than the entire population of many countries and with a low % of incidents. A slick well oiled machine. Probably getting a few extra Brits now from Spain as they have turned nasty on us. -
