This current escalation was set off by the Israelis rampaging and vandalizing the Pai hospital. Thai businesses have put up signs banning Israelis from entering. The police announced they were going to round up foreigners breaking the laws but this band stupidly thought they would continue despite the warnings. The police showed more tolerance to the Irishman than they did to the Israelis and to Matheus who has an Israeli partner. Local social media and mainstream media is quite opening is discussing how the locals are annoyed by the behavior of the Israelis, so no surprise they were targeted. I am pleased that the Thais are not painting all foreigners with the same brush for the behavior of a certain group and are focusing on the trouble makers and not dragging us all down with them.

If you live in Thailand so you actually communicate with the people in the country you live in what be one good reason. Thais have enough English speakers to do very well. I think you can not grasp the reality that it is completely unnecessary for 95% of Thais to speak English. They have no use for it.

Indeed it has. The same type of people that will be rubbish in this project would have been rubbish in solar and batteries ten years ago. Personally I find service in Thailand much better than in the UK. If I gave the barmaids back home a little touch up I would be arrested. Here they encourage it. Buy them one drink you can go the full grope and they will give you and nice little fondle on the tackle. Sexually charged jokes and banter is a lot of fun. And in Thai pubs the “pretties” constantly keeping my beer full. In restaurants they give the menu and patiently stand by the table waiting for you to read the menu and decide what to eat instead of giving you the menu and telling you to call them over when you have decided. I have never had some scantily dressed young hottie ever give me a wipe down with icy cold perfumed cloth on a hot day in a pub in the UK either. Very nice people the Thais. Most Thais won’t go all over the world. They have no use for English. Surprises me the amount of foreigners who live here for years or decades and are illiterate and effectively deaf mutes. And then berate Thais for not speaking English.
