  1. Everyone in Thailand is welcome by one side, and unwelcome by the other side. Thaksin is welcomed by he who will not be mentioned, so he doesn't need to worry about anything for now. I rather see Thaksins's back than his front
  2. When they will fix this forum, that while you are writing a reply, the page will not reload and everything written is lost???? You claim to be a successful seller on Shopee and Lazada, but you don't know the rules? Shopee didn't approve your refund, they approved your return, and when the seller receives the item he has the option to refund you are open a dispute. I have said in previous threads that Lazada and Shopee sellers are scum and fraudsters, and when you have a claim beyond the 3 day Shopee return warranty, you are on your own. I recently had a lengthy phone discussion with Shopee in that regard, and asked what happens if a seller doesn't honiur the warranty written in the listing. Short answer to a long story, nothing-Nada- zilch. They will ask the seller to honour the warranty, but that is where it ends for them. Lately I ordered a steering rack for my car, and it was listed as having 1-year warranty. In the order, I included a message to the seller that I required an invoice with his details and the mention that the item had a 1-year warranty, to which he agreed. The order arrived without the invoice, so I contacted the seller about it, and he plainly refused to issue the invoice. I involved Shopee, who after some time succeeded that the seller issued the invoice. Right after that I got blocked by the seller. Two days ago I wanted to order some ball joint from 333 JC from a Shopee seller, and 333 JC gives 6 months warranty on their products, but there is a lot of copy on those sites. So I asked the seller if the item had warranty. Answer was "yes". I then asked, how long? The next minute I was blocked by the seller.
  3. Because in my home country I have to pay an equal amount of withholding tax and can't claim it back. I'm a tax resident in Thailand, and my country has a DTA with Thailand. Latest rumours (on this forum) is that Thailand may tax on income NOT remitted to Thailand. I made clear already that I don't have any intention to remit any money, be it pension or interest or savings, to Thailand. Probably not in this lifetime, as I have enough savings here already
  4. It doesn't matter when they sold ho much. Buffett is known for his buy and hold forever stakes in companies, and only sells when he smells that something isn't right. He started with 10% and now holds 6.9%, that is more than a 30% reduction, regardless how you want to wriggle yourself in an attempt to deny FACTS.
  5. Now I understand why you think your calculation about EV durability are correct............... Buffett sold more than 30% of hi stake in BYD so far. That reduced its stake in BYD's issued H-shares to 6.90% from 7.02%. Buffett's company began investing in Shenzhen-based BYD in 2008, when it paid $230 million for about 225 million shares, then equal to a 10% stake.
  6. When you apply for an O-A visa in your home country, not only funds in the home country bank are accepted, but you also get 2 years instead of 1. At extension time, Thai immigration makes the rules. FCD's are accepted s proof of funds by Thai immigration
  7. If that wasn't some double speak I've never seen it. What I have read is that recent EV's offer an 8 year warranty on the battery. Do you have an 8 year old EV? What my experience with Chinese companies tells me is that they use to go bust, or change name, when massive warranty claims are filed, and the customer is left holding the bag. FYI, Warren Buffett is in the news for dumping his BYD shares. Maybe he knows something you don't. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/berkshire-hathaway-sells-39-8-094308237.html BEIJING/NEW YORK (Reuters) -Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has trimmed its stake in China's BYD, which surpassed Tesla last year as the world's largest seller of electric vehicles. Berkshire recently sold 1.3 million Hong Kong-listed BYD shares for HK$310.5 million ($39.8 million), according to a filing on Monday with the Hong Kong stock exchange. That reduced its stake in BYD's issued H-shares to 6.90% from 7.02%. Buffett's company began investing in Shenzhen-based BYD in 2008, when it paid $230 million for about 225 million shares, then equal to a 10% stake.
  8. In my country also the first 1000 Euro in interest (per individual not per account or bank) is free of withholding tax. In previous years interests were negligible, and I wouldn't exceed the 1000 Euro. This year I had a significant inheritance, and interests percentages have multiplied at the same time, so my guess is that for 2024 I will have to pay 15% withholding tax on about 5000 Euro of interests Banks only deduct the withholding tax automatically once you exceed that plafond of 1000 euro in that particular bank, not if you exceed it in multiple banks combined. In the latter case I have to mention on my tax return, and I suppose I get taxed 15% withholding tax, not income tax. My country has a DTA with Thailand, and since I moved to Thailand, the revenue office has informed me that there is no need any more to file a return. I have no assets in my country, and until this year also had no income. Since the 1st of January I receive a pension, which is taxable, but the yearly balance is right below the plafond that people have to pay tax. I have no intention to remit any funds to Thailand in the near future. So my point was actually, if I declare the interests in Thailand, and pay the 15% withholding tax here, on my tax return I can declare them as paid tax and get them refunded, since i have no other income in Thailand. 5000 Euro = is about 195.000 baht. A withholding tax of 15% on that amount = 29.500 baht. I can claim back up to 60.000 baht of paid taxes in Thailand
  9. Is it April 1st already? Why write a news article about an event that everyone in Thailand knows will never even be considered?
  10. The topic is about cars, not Chinese toys
  11. I'm registered at my embassy as permanently living in Thailand for at least 10 years, and as such haven't filed any tax returns in my home country. Recently I had an inheritance, and that money is in my bank accounts in my home country. In my home country there is an exemption of withholding tax on the first 1000 Euro interest per individual, above that you pay 15%. Now if I earn 999 Euro of interest in 3 different banks, so 2997 Euro in total, no withholding tax is deducted, because the banks don't know each other, and I have to file the interests on my tax return. Though, I legally don't file any tax returns, since I'm permanently live in Thailand. Doe this mean, I now will have to file tax returns in my home country, or can I get away with it? Edit : On second thought, can I decide to pay the withholding tax on those accounts in Thailand, then legally get up to 60.000 baht in withholding taxes refunded ?
  12. Currency exchange companies like SuperRich can transfer whatever amount overseas, but it has to be exchanged in foreign currency first
  13. For once I hope the US voice on this will be heard internationally.
  14. I'm not a Brit, LOL, our election was June 9. BTW I believe that my ballots were sent by the Embassy since it had a Thai postal stamp on it.
  15. I sent mine back by snail mail, and I even considered that as 60 baht too much. I took a picture of the envelope with the postal stamp attached as evidence, because sure it will not arrive in time, but that's the least of my worries. Why they need to send me the ballot papers only 7 days before the election date is a mystery to me.
  16. It would be a great help if you would refrain from being a major pedant on this forum arguing with EVERYONE, just for the sake of arguing. If you had opened you s*it eyes you had noticed I posted 2 examples already
  17. That is just my point. If they had an strict algorithm in place, as another member claims, how this item could ever pass? https://shopee.co.th/3D-NAND-SATA-SSD-1TB-Blue-3D-NAND-Internal-PC-SSD-SATA-III-6-Gb-s-SATA-SSD-i.266357122.24068377394? Or this one https://shopee.co.th/3D-Nand-Sata-Ssd-1Tb-Blue-Internal-Pc-Iii-6-Gb-S-G-9--i.266356953.23087439599?
  18. In your dreams, otherwise why would that strict algorithm not catch brand-new 2Tb WD Blue SSD's sold at 500 baht. Or items with brand names, while that real brand doesn't even manufacture that item? I can give you hundreds of such cases that are active for long time on both platforms. I have even reported several of them, with solid evidence included. Why do you think that if you return an item that is fake or isn't as promised, you are not allowed to write a review? Simply because Shopee or Lazada doesn't want to be exposed for them supporting their bogus sellers
  19. 6 month ago I bought a Windows 10 key from Shopee for 83 baht, minus 10 baht coupon, so total 73 baht. Still working fine. Shopee removes those shops and listings very quickly, so you have to act fast.
  20. You are arguing with someone who started a thread that he stopped eating baked beans because they were more than 50 baht for a large tin. Why you think he would ever think about paid iptv packages? He's the kind of guy that think cheap is good, and cheaper is better
  21. My money always used to arrive in seconds, but lately they tell me it HAS arrived, only it isn't in my account. Last transfer arrived in my account, according to Wise, at 9:08pm last evening but till now there is nothing in my Kasikorn account.
  22. Just wait, the young generation voted for MFP, and FFP in the previous election, and they got fooled twice. Surely they aren't happy with what happened, and they may voice their discontent about Thaksin ruling the country again at a later stage.
  23. Wise payments to my account are also delayed lately. I receive the email you got paid, and when I click the tracking link it says your money should have arrived in your bank at xx.xx time, only thing is that it hasn't, and may take 1 or 2 days to actually show up in my account. My account is Kasikorn, which I thought was a partner bank from Wise. Not a major issue as I know it will arrive, but they should get their act together, since this never happened in the past but very often in the last month. In the past, it might have taken a little longer than usual for some transfers, but then the tracking would also not show the money should be in your bank now. It would show like, it takes a little longer or so, but as soon as it showed as in the account it would be in the account. Edit: I havent read the whole thread, but do the delays happen with all banks, or is it just Kasikorn bank?
  24. I DO mind. This is a payment I received from someone in Australia, and this discussion is not about Swift transfers. The tread is about Wise, and another member said that he used XE, and they were cheaper and no fees. I showed him the evidence that there are fees at recipient end.
