  1. They're about the most complicated extension that can be applied for. The local offices are not even allowed to approve them and they have to be sent to a higher level office for approval, hence the "under consideration" period for marriage extensions. They often try to push people over 50 onto retirement extensions once they hit that age.
  2. It would help if you did the research to determine that the entire premise of this post is incorrect. E-visa is standardized across the world. The non-O is available in Spain, as it is available everywhere else.
  3. I haven't previously heard of anyone needing a 4th flight ticket to show leaving Thailand. They've just needed the 3 tickets proving they need to "enter" Thailand multiple times.
  4. There's not anything particularly special about such a case. You simply apply for extension based on marriage to Thai instead of work. You just need to get the requirements for an extension based on marriage so you make sure you can meet those requirements when you apply. They may require you to formally "cancel" your work extension when it runs out, but they also might just let you apply for the new extension directly without doing so. That would be the question you would need clarification on from the immigration office. But the actual application is normal.
  5. There is no DTV qualification for visiting family. It's completely unrelated to your application, and cannot help it. If it cannot help, the only thing it can do is hurt it.
  6. When I asked Kasikorn Bank about a credit card, the minimum deposit for a secured credit card was only 50,000 baht. You might want to try some other banks and ask about secured credit cards rather than unsecured. You have no chance of getting an unsecured credit card without both a work permit and at least 6 months of pay slips.
  7. What you don't understand is that it's working as intended. Foreign embassies are for you to get a visa at home before you travel to another country. For someone that lives in Malaysia they would plan ahead and live their daily life while waiting for the visa so it's no problem. The embassies have grown wary of foreigners using the Thai embassies in SE Asia to try and live in Thailand and not do things the normal way. They've purposely made the processing times long to dissuade this behavior and make it difficult and inconvenient. It seems it's working on you, but not enough to prevent you from applying in the first place.
  8. They already specifically said that the ETA (if it ever happens) will be used to allow people previously approved to use automatic gates. The entire purpose of ETA is to standardize the process so it's not at the discretion of the immigration officers anymore.
  9. Validity is more important for the airline than immigration. But what kind of travel are you doing that will take more than 48 hours so it's valid for both? I thought the 30 hour trips from the US were bad... Realistically neither will check it. If they ask for it they will glance at it and accept it at face value.
  10. What would agents have to do with anything? There are legal requirements to enter as a tourist. Just because you aren't asked doesn't mean some people aren't. Especially if they are looking for an easy reason to deny you entry, those legal requirements are the first thing they are going to ask for.
  11. Most of the Thai embassies in SE Asia specifically state that processing time for e-visa is 10-15 business days. So that could be 2-3 weeks, longer if there are any holidays in there. When doing official business, always take the greatest estimate provided by the entity, and then add a few days to account for any complications. Also, if there are any issues in your submission and they contact you to get additional information, that usually starts the timer over again.
  12. When you select "multiple" there's a little warning that says you need to justify the multiple entries. It has been reported from many embassies that means you must show a flight into Thailand, a flight out of Thailand within 60 days, and then another flight into Thailand. This shows the reason you need multiple entries. Without showing the intent to enter multiple times, the embassy might instead issue a single entry visa and you would lose the difference in price. Normally don't need to show a 2nd exit, just 2 entries.
  13. Are you flying on a single ticket and don't have to cross passport control to retrieve your bags and check-in again?
  14. It just means a policy that you have no intention of using. Usually because you already have better insurance, but that insurance doesn't meet the requirements for the visa. So you buy it to throw it away, as it's garbage/useless to you. The word throwaway has nothing to do with the policy itself.
  15. You're overcomplicating it. It means both sides of the passport in the scan. 2 pages when the passport is open. double page
  16. I'm assuming, it's for ตม (TM) which is Thai for immigration and the source of all the form numbers. TM30 = Immigration form 30, etc. But I could be wrong, as I've never seen anyone refer to immigration like that before.
  17. They're not going to abandon the ETA for many reasons. It's the only way they'll be able to introduce automated gates on entry for one thing. Getting all of the visa exempt people in through automated gates would do the most in streamlining the entry process. And then the biggest factor, it's really the only way they'll be able to implement the tourist entry tax they've been spouting about for years now. When all that money is involved, they will find a way to get it working eventually.
  18. Didn't they kill off the Smart visas with the new updates to the LTR?
  19. The difference is that you are talking about 2 completely different government organizations with completely different rules.
  20. It's your responsibility to check your passport every time you enter Thailand. The BOI has even warned about this, and that if you get the wrong stamp it can invalidate your LTR. You might want to go back to the airport ASAP and get that fixed.
  21. No. No one gets that for any visa. That's your responsibility to keep track of.
  22. I can make or edit a bank statement in 5 minutes. How is that verification of anything? There's a reason a bunch of the SE Asian Thai embassies were requiring people to come in and open their banking app on their phone and show the live balance along with bank statements for a while. Thailand doesn't trust foreign bank statements (as they shouldn't).
  23. There's no way to enter Thailand without getting a stamp. The automated gates are for EXIT ONLY. You will go to a manned booth and receive a stamp when you return. Immigration at the airports has gotten better in my last few trips, but still expect them to look at your passport for a while. They seem to take forever when processing an LTR to enter. I entered through Nong Khai a couple months ago and that took ages.
  24. Must be because they haven't finished that 10,000 baht giveaway yet. Wasn't that supposed to save their economy and drive massive GDP growth? 🤣
