When was the last time that you spoke with a foreigner?
SMIAI replied to simon43's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Foreigners that I would prefer to avoid... The ones who are aggressive and hostile whilst suggesting that foreigners are aggressive and hostile.. 😊 The ones who whinge and complain about foreigners whinging and complaining..... The ones who abuse the Report function to the point where they are told to not use it anymore... The ones who complain about other foreigners... -

I disagree...the negative responses say a lot about the perception of the aforementioned. -

Watch out...👀 grumpy old men about 😊 Who socialises with strangers? I make friends firstly, then socialise. You have to introduce yourself in an acceptable manner. That's how it works. Rather than to stand at the wings, criticising because no one seems interested in you. I communicate with foreigners every day. Family and friends and females in the 24 to 35 year age range. But of course there is not going to be much interest in striking up a conversation with an old foreigner who is stuck in their ways, male or female. -

My suggestion would be to contact the call centre to see what they can offer. Especially if you are willing to leave and let them know that. My old mobile packs are rolled over. Maybe they can do something similar for you. But NOT via the shops, but via the call centre.

Further to what is written above about the acquisition, the agreement states that they are not allowed to raise the price of Broadband for at least five years. I cannot comment on whether that is being adhered to nor whether they have raised and shuffled the TV component prices to compensate. It's worth pointing out that with some AIS mobile packs, AIS Play Family is included.

Weirdo stalker still following me around 😊

If you are getting a £ sign when you press Shift + 3, it means that you are using a UK keyboard layout on a US/Thai keyboard. A U.K. physical keyboard has one more key than a physical US keyboard, as you have just found out. With a U,K keyboard there is a dedicated # key. You'll need to switch back to the US keyboard layout to select Shift + 3.

I have no idea as to what you are getting now 😊 I think you'll need to compare by yourself. The free content is indicated here: https://www.ais.th/play/en/freecontents.html You pay extra if you want to view Premium content. But as you can see, Internet alone starts from 500 baht now. If you have an Android TV or similar device, you probably don't need to pay anything to watch the free content. So 500 baht per month will be the base price including AIS Play free content.

Lots of words, but zero detail on your "fantastic deal". PLAY is their TV offering. You get an AIS Play Box to plug into your TV or you can install their application if you have a suitable Smart TV.

What prompted you to choose 3CX? I think people download Google Voice by setting up a Google Playstore Account in a corresponding region. But don't quote me on that 😊 Alternatively, try downloading the .xapk: https://google-voice.en.uptodown.com/android/download/1079812772-x 2025.05.04.756771251 May 10, 2025 15.37 MB is the version available there.

Impulse...the suggestion was in the very first reply, in the very first sentence in reply to the OP. 😊 TV was the first suggestion, but also included the monitor option, since that was what was asked. If they wanted to keep the cost down for example, with a smaller second hand monitor with a DVI/HDMI input. 2000 baht total possible. But if their budget stretches to 4.7k, @jacnl2000's suggestion should suffice.

Did Trump actually succeed in getting Pakistan and India to ceasefire?
SMIAI replied to thesetat's topic in Political Soapbox
That news is going to upset the Trumpettes claiming a win for Trump. Are these people idiots? Do they have Biden on the brain? Everything is Dems and the Left, simply not understanding that most of the people reading have nothing to do with Dems and the Left. Can't they give it a rest and simply discuss the conflict? It's a terrible affliction. An obsession. -
..hence the recommendation of the additional Android Box.

The alarming mental decline of Donald J. Trump -- watch this space

But you are here....so address it, since it's germane to the topic. -
Perhaps you should get on with using the recommended Softphone software together with Localphone @Greenside What is stopping you? It's not a large investment and they are considerably cheaper than the others mentioned here. Smartphone works for me, you can use WiFi is your mobile connection is patchy.

Cost? A minimum of 1000 baht for an Android box. Examples: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006895813611.html https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005430447276.html Up to you for the monitor, as you can buy second hand or new, but you'll want one with an HDMI input. You haven't mentioned portability. If you need that, then of course you should consider a laptop or Tablet.

There is no such thing as a 32" 4K TV for 5k. Just...no. Most likely not even Full HD, but HD 720p.
-
Sounds like you want a TV 😊 My suggestion to you, if you want to keep the cost down, is Monitor and Android box. A cheap TV will have low resolution with a limited capacity to play media. Android box will be able to play most things.

https://www.voipbuster.com/dashboard recommended here by a certain member, charges up to £0.11 per minute to U.K. landlines and £0.153 to U.K. mobiles. He claims they have "good rates" whilst criticising TALK360 for charging £0.04 and £0.06 respectively. 🙂 United Kingdom (Landline) £ 0.008 £ 0.008 United Kingdom [non-EU-callerid] (Landline) £ 0.110 £ 0.110 United Kingdom [Main] (Mobile) £ 0.153 £ 0.153 United Kingdom [Main][non-EU-callerid] (Mobile) £ 0.153 £ 0.153 United Kingdom [Others] (Mobile) £ 0.297 £ 0.297 United Kingdom [Others][non-EU-callerid] (Mobile) £ 0.297 £ 0.297 United Kingdom [084 Rate] (Landline) £ 0.085 £ 0.085 United Kingdom [087 Rate] (Landline) £ 0.170 £ 0.170 United Kingdom [Personal] (Landline) £ 0.255

The earlier question was for @Greenside , as to why only a Windows 10 device is being considered. In addition.. are they referring to Zoiper, rather than Voiper? https://www.zoiper.com/en/voip-softphone/download/current I would imagine that Localphone are suggesting Zoiper, configured with their details.

Why only Windows? is there not a Smartphone available to make the calls via Application?

Excerpt: Navarro later told reporters outside the White House that British consumers would like chicken and beef imported from the US despite the use of chlorine and hormones. He called sanitary standards a “phoney tool used to suppress what is very fine American agricultural product” and said the market should decide, adding: “We don’t believe that once [British people] taste American beef and chicken that they would prefer not to have it.” Tom Bradshaw, president of the National Farmers’ Union, said he welcomed reciprocal access to the US beef market, but was concerned imported American beef would be produced to a lower standard. More steaming BS from the U.S team.
