Would you invite The Devil to your church? Ask Hitler to come to a synagogue? Let a bank robber be a teller at your bank? Allow a pedophile to babysit? Bring a T-Rex over to play with your dog? Get a rapid tiger as a pet? These are all the most ridiculous questions the world has ever read........ until yours.

The 60-year-old, who has not been identified, entered the kingdom in early 2000 on a tourist visa and never left, evading previous police checks by claiming to be in the process of extending his visa. He was finally caught in the northern province of Chiang Mai on Monday during a crackdown by immigration officials on overstaying foreigners -- more than 9,000 days after arriving on a 30-day visa.

not all crimes are the same. I think this one would go up the ladder much faster. upscale, check.. money involved, check... I do think we all agree the system CAN work, but ....... once I met a very angry couple, money stolen, video proved it was the cleaning staff, she fled back to Myanmar, many trips to police station, they still left very upset. hotel didn't get in trouble. who knows what really happened. gotta get that money back before it's spent. lol

I agree, BUT the farang will lose face. lol Police come, everyone takes pictures, everyone talks, farang dragged out....pointed at, arrested, nobody says overstay so nobody knows... visitors stop coming. as crazy as my answer is, I can see the police note the farang's presence and maybe arrest him once off hotel property. seems like we would see these stories.....we don't. so......

Maybe already answered. I just got a fresh stamp this week, so I'm OK. Let's say I'm 0n overstay. No clue if it goes into some centralized computer system, but I'm pretty sure it does. OK. Now, no clue if this information goes to every province. OK, now I travel and stay in a nice hotel. I say "nice" because let's say 100% of the time they photocopy my passport and bring it to the police station. Or do something online. TM30, whatever, something. Some do photocopy my stamp, some don't. some really do nothing. Let's say they follow the law. I'm guessing that the police/immigration will come and arrest me. correct? I'm just surprised I've never seen this before. Maybe the same with trains, bus station, etc....

Just checked, there's plenty of room on the next flight. The Mirror headline: "Brit and his mates get stampeded by a herd of elephants while at a zoo complaining about the elephants." From the article, "Look here matie mate, no security for these elephants!!! crazy times here. everyone crazy. zookeeper on meth...oh, look, here come the elephants!!! Nobody cares." At least he died doing something he loved. complaining.

We are the farang. Visitors. Merely ATM's jumping through hoops so we don't get deported, so we must give the disclaimer: Every province is TIED at 100. Everyone is ranked 100/100 and is magical, amazing, and should be explored. Because my life is limited, I cannot explore every province over and over and over. Once might just be enough, unfortunately. Maybe I will be on a bus and travel through one of these places, ah, that's life. Note: This is MY personal opinion. I have never been to Phuket or anywhere south of there. I have heard stories and seen videos of Yala and Pattani. 100/100. I've been to Bueng Kan but not the caves, waterfalls and whatever. Once I do that, it will likely go on the list. One and done, if you will. But maybe you will find your wife there...so visit once for sure. Udon Thani has some nice mountains I want to see. The rest? A year was enough. Prepare the stones!!!!!!!!! 1. Amnat Chareon 2. Sisaket ศรีสะเกษ This seems like the name is Sriisaget but whatever. maybe the r (pronounced like an L in most places) is silent. 3. Uttaradit 4. Tak 5. Yasothon 6. Nong Bua Lam Phu 7. Chanthaburi 8. Trat 9. Lopburi

A playground found under the ocean 10,000 years old ?
Quentin Zen replied to CharlieH's topic in Off the beaten track
Question everything on TikTok. TikTok is not peer review. Maybe trying to get funding for something. Maybe only trying to get money and views. Maybe an ad for some playground made by (insert name) Maybe AI Anything is possible. I will put my laptop at 9807480371480234783204172384034723 BC because the air around it dates back to............... Remember, the average TikToker is about 9.8 years old with an IQ of a little over 19. -
Where’s All the Dodgy Low-Budget Tourists Gone?
Quentin Zen replied to Lewie London's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
was OK around 2008, terrible afterwards. 1990's was decent. Bro, you gotta get with the times. All the backpackers go to Vietnam or Bali or a few islands in Euroland.......Some Russian backpackers are in Phuket. Thailand is transitioning to Hi-So. Golden rice in Issan for 10,000 baht. Backpackers beg me for pictures......cannot poor Oliver. -
I'd recommend renting in the area for a few months first. The nightmare stories of condos charging fees if some tenants are gone, shoddy construction, deteriorating over time, noisy neighbors, etc.......Rent, walk around at night, snoop on everyone, and then go with your gut. I thought I would buy a condo in a big city when I could retire but after all these years that will probably not happen. never say never....if it's "perfect," then you gotta buy. Local guide, years ago, said Laem Chabang Towers was only two stars. Yea, read all the reviews. 3.9 on Google isn't high enough for me to even consider, since a lot of 5.0 are fake already.

Quentin Zen replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
forget my last post. In the first five months of 2025, Thailand welcomed 14.36 million foreign tourists, a 2.7% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. In April 2025, the top countries contributing to Thailand's tourist arrivals were Malaysia (362,636), China (317,213), and India (206,286). Here's a more detailed look at the data: Top Countries (April 2025): Malaysia: 362,636 tourists China: 317,213 tourists India: 206,286 tourists Russia: 155,314 tourists United Kingdom: 110,231 tourists South Korea: 84,455 tourists Germany: 82,859 tourists United States: 80,506 tourists Laos: 80,468 tourists Australia: 75,067 tourists -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2025)
Quentin Zen replied to Rimmer's topic in Entertainment
Mindhunter. Was fine. Mobland. Terrible. Movie: The Departed, good acting, fairly predictable, but based on a true story Tonight: Dark City, 1998. Hey, when you get old you can rewatch stuff from 27 years ago. -

I'll try to help.... I think you need to CANCEL your Ed visa before leaving. Remember to do that. Not sure why you would need an ED visa for only two months. Also not sure if ED and Digital Visa are mixed....ask about that. Ed visa can now be given IN country, yes, In Thailand. costs more. around 15,000 baht for the "convenience" and then 1900 every three months. you get 60 days then pay 1900 for another 30.....I'm pretty sure you can study on just a stamp. nope, can enroll in country. Can start classes immediately. There's a few weeks wait for the letter from MOE, but that's for the visa. Not sure that's what you really need. take my answers with a grain of salt... confirm.

I'm feeling very lucky today. I needed some help with documents and notory and blah, blah, blah.... reached out overseas to people I haven't talked to in about nine years, and they both responsed positively in about a day. I'm not asking for money, so maybe that's different. lol. I think that's "luck" (see below) Had about three close calls in Thailand (accidents), one could've easily changed my life. Of course I don't think I did anything wrong, but the truck overreacted, went into a ditch at a super high speed, and had about 10 people hanging out in the flatbed. Luckily, nobody was hurt, no damage to their ride. I'm sure I would have been blamed. Got lucky, I guess. Parents were absolutely not rich, but, looking back, above middle-class. Luck. I went to such a bad high-school that doing nothing put me on the Honor roll and top 10% of my class, the biggest metric for one school that accepted me. Luck. Once I swear I had about zero in my bank account and magically got $2500 that day (tax refund). 1990's maybe. Luck. Owner gave me about $5000 just for not leaving on bad terms. Lucky. note: rich people are headaches, but they are rich. Some people hook up with one person and gets AIDS and they get pregnant. That's not luck. Pulled over for whatever driving offense, let go with a warning. many times. Lucky that the cop liked me. (complex). lol. Some people walk across the street during the filming of Final Destination. That's not luck. Oh, my luck will run out (maybe today) and I wish I was luckier (we all do). I've been unlucky with Shopee and Lazada here. Unlucky with cars. Unlucky with.......... On a scale of 1 - 100, I'd put my luck meter at 86. Higher than I deserve. Luck isn't strictly either "made" or "born," but rather a combination of both. While some people are born into more advantageous circumstances, "luck" is also significantly shaped by mindset, perception, and conscious choices we make. Elaboration: "Born Lucky": Some individuals are born into families with greater financial resources, access to education, or other factors that give them a head start. These initial advantages might be seen as "luck" in the sense that they are not solely determined by individual effort. "Making Your Own Luck": Even within similar circumstances, individuals can actively shape their own "luck" through their mindset and actions. Studies suggest that luck is more about a positive attitude and willingness to see opportunities than random chance. People who are perceived as "lucky" often seize opportunities, reframe failures, and actively shape their circumstances. Preparation and Opportunity: "Luck" often occurs when preparation meets opportunity. Individuals who are prepared and proactive are more likely to recognize and take advantage of opportunities that may otherwise be missed. The Role of Mindset: A positive and resilient mindset can help individuals navigate challenging situations and perceive "luck" in unexpected ways. Chance and Influence: While there are uncontrollable factors, much of what we perceive as "luck" is influenced by our choices, attitudes, and behaviors.

Not hit, no. Shoot to kill? Absolutely. She (woman, or maybe a guy who has pronouns she/her, lol) is holding a bomb. She's weilding a knife and already attacked some kids. She has a knife to my kid (if I had one). She has a gun pointed at.... She is about to press a button launching WW3, etc...... She's pointing a bazooka at my head..... A billion scenarios why shooting her would make perfect sense. Hit her? Nah, too much energy.

Can't you just print money online? Digital nomad, just be digital?? I don't think this visa is for the broke backpackers. Try the ED visa. Here are all my socials, follow me on....................................... shhhhhhh.......I don't need a headache. Go take your selfies with the elephants, think this is being a digital nomad, and then gofundme when you run out of cash.
