  1. Up a bit, down a bit, up a bit left, down a bit right, down a touch - FIRE, Bernie the Bolt witnesses the surge!
  2. Me too, I thought I had pulled a fast one with the bank book - mine was last updated the day before. Photos have been blue or white and "oversize" for years.
  3. Yes, it amazes me too how the Thais put up with it!
  4. I got scammed on Marketplace, lost a couple of thousand Baht, it was a scam, ao I just do not go there anymore. Kaidee is by far the most professional site of the 3, well run and never been scammed. Facebook is just riddled with scams.
  5. Why not try listing them on Kaidee or Bahtsold? I for one would never try to buy anything from Fartbook Marketplace, it is full of thieves, scammers, rip off merchants, liars and bullsh%tters. Kaidee is the best in my book, I have managed to sell items there quire quickly. Bahtsold appears more for Farangs, the prices are about 15% more, but obviously, this is the premium required when buying anything from a "Farang" as they take care of everything so much better than Thais....cough cough!
  6. From the experience of others here, you will struggle to get that service in Chiang Mai, most people I know have had to travel to places like Pattaya where it is more "accepted"
  7. More fairytales, lies and excuses, who will be the poor Judas Foat?
  8. I loved Da Nang, stayed at the Centre Hotel, double room, nice and clean, about 300 Baht /night - similar hotel in Bangkok would easily be over 1000 Baht - One thing though about the Vietnamese hotels, their bathrooms are a bit strange. You go into the bathroom and there is a massive 8 foot by 4 foot picture window in the bathroom that looks into THE BEDROOM! You can take a dump in full view of anyone in the room at the time, makes a nice change I suppose. I meant to say that I made a terrible mistake by going to the tourist trap - Hoi An, if you hate fake tourist areas, give this place a wide berth, it was horrible, fake, scammers, rip off fruit sellers. There is so much more interesting places to visit, Hoi An is the worst place I have visited there.
  9. Go to Da Nang, you won't regret it! People are great, food is good, accommodation is way cheaper and much better value than Thailand, Beaches are beautiful, quiet (time of year of course) some good bars and restaurants, well worth a look - I wish I had visited 20 years ago. As for pricing, well I can buy good beer cheaper in the UK than in Thailand these days and Vietnam is even cheaper. The currency however will drive you nuts!
  10. How does anyone run an online business here without a dedicated connection? Every time that we have bad weather, the internet goes off and it usually takes TOT 2 days to repair it, this is a regular problem in the north. Heavy rain or winds, internet down for two days. No one can run a business like this. Thailand has just copied the latest tech and just stuck it in place. No history of research or development, no history of the process development with no experience of implementing the tech then learning and developing over time. Thailand just implements the top layer, then when something goes wrong they have no idea or experience of fixing it. They are not able to run it properly as they just buy the top layer and are inexperienced. No online business can survive two day shut downs when the rains are heavy. TOT have fixed this many times, always a fault nearby, and always a fault that comes back again and again. In the US and Europe the internet has matured over the years ans most of the developed world can look after and maintain it, Thailand cannot, they have no history of research development thewy just copy without any experience, They do this with almost everything which is why nothing works properly as everything is selotape and prayers.
  11. it can be correct and is quite cheap compared to my experience. A business friend sent me 50 caps and shirts - all company logo shirts, for poor children at a school we visit in the north thailand. We give shirts and hats to poorer children, but the goverment charged us 300% - an agent eventually got it waved as it was not for selling,
  12. I think you might want to check your keyboard settings, caps lock - is it on or off? Then have a look at your language setting, if there is more than one system language the # key and the " can become swapped. To be safe, open an app such as notepad, type in your answers and see if it is correct.
  13. Our good friends always go for there dinner at christmas to the empress hotel in chinag mai.
  14. I would not be having a problem with taking this blood, I see no problem as long as the blood is tested as with all blood donations, having gay blood does not make me a gay. They are helping saving life.
  15. I wonder just how much money has been wasted going through this charade, and more pointedly, where did all the money go?
  16. Desperate times calls for desperate action. Personally though, I have never found anything done by the taxman to be "Thrilling"
  17. I have submitted a 90 day application using the immigration online service, but there seems to be problems. My application has been with immigrations for 2 weeks but all it says online is pending. My date for reporting has now became overdue but no reply from immigrations. I have a receipt for my application, but no one answers my application, only pending. If I go to immigrations will they try to fine me even though I applied early but no one answers.
