  1. I'm sure they have known where he is for a long time. How else would they know where not to look.
  2. Not sure if you can get here in Thailand Nixalite
  3. I am not sure if it was the same accident, but sitting eating breakfast in Khon Khan yesterday there was a news report with cam footage from a large truck. It showed a bike pull in front in front of him and then what looked like the bike had a rear tire blow out. You could see the rider look up from the pavement at the oncoming truck. The footage stops at that point and then shows the truck at standstill. It looks like the truck swerved to avoid the bike. If he would have kept going straight, the bike rider may have gone under the truck and avoided the wheels. After reading the full story, I see it was a different accident. No idea when or where the one above happen.
  4. I know of two with plans for their end. One got some kind of nerve disease where he lost all his hearing in bout 3 weeks and then his sight started to go. He was around 80. He went to the beach and was going to do that last long swim. On the way down to the water, he tripped, fell down and couldn't get up. A nice young couple came along and helped him back to his car. The second, got on the bus in Nong Khai. As soon as I saw him, I thought "Please God, Don't have him sit next to me". Well, you know how that joker God is. This guy looked like walking death. His clothes hung on him like there wasn't anything underneath. He lid up an opium pipe on the bus. We got to talking. He was French, was told in France by the doctors there was nothing left to do, he was dying from liver cancer. So he came to Thailand. He figured he had a few days left, he hadn't had anything to eat in days and hadn't taken a sh*t in over a week. I asked him wasn't he afraid of getting busted by the cops, he said he had already had run ins with them, they didn't want to have anything to do with him as long as he kept moving on. He was on his way to Phuket to die on the beach. I was on my way the ChiengMai, we parted ways in Udon Thani.
  5. On my mothers side, all died from heart attacks, her, her brother, mother and father. On my fathers side, they all lived into their 90s and died of old age, except my father, car accident. My poor mother, went in to have some kind of lung surgery, they found cancer, closed her up and gave her 6 months to live. Three days later had a stroke (I think due to the lung surgery), died within two weeks from a heart attack. My brother died of liver cancer, he had hepatitis for years. So--- I am in my mid 70s now, I have no idea.

  8. Back to the springs. There is something in the instructions about removing the spring. I just looked at my instructions and your wife is correct, for underground the spring should be removed
  9. Korat, 4 photos, One with house number, others in house, they did away with the bedroom photo years ago. In 12 years they came to my house twice, never asked to come inside, sat on the front porch. Took picture of themselves in front of the house (I guess to prove they were there).
  10. I read somewhere that if it is petal assist, its legal, no need for DL, other wise it is not. (same as farm tractor) But here in the Esan sticks, they are everywhere within 10 km of town. No one seems to care.
  11. ve spend hours talking to my son, but I have learned more about him from his sister. Don't you have a son?
  12. That is why there are still squatter's rights in the US. You can't just buy a piece of land and never go look at it. You can still overtly live on a piece of land and claim title to it after a number of years.
  13. Reminds me of what happen to a farmer I worked for in Oregon. One day he was in the Bureau of Land Management and while looking at a map, he saw there was a 50' by 200' strip right in the middle of his hay field that was given to the railroads more than 100 years ago. He sent in a letter asking if he could buy it. The reply was "No, and if you continue to use it, you will be billed for the use." It is now fenced off. Locally the house being built on the wrong lot has happen here also. It was a subdivision and the lot numbers were on a post on the right side of the lot when facing from the road. The builder thought the lot was on the right side of the post. The owner of the lot was a nice guy and they just traded lots.
  14. No witness! Son says it was the father that had the hissy fit. You can make a judgement from this?
  15. Maybe they are getting wise to the rented ticket, and are randomly checking to see if they really have a bought ticket.
  16. I know several Cristian, and Muslim Thais
  17. Someone posted this a couple of years ago. The poster came home after work and told his Thai wife that their dog Pokey told him that she had just lay around all day watching TV. She went into tears "Why would Pokey tell you that?" Dogs, cats, the spider watching me from the corner all have a different view of the world. My Thai wife and I see many things very differently. I have to bite my tongue sometimes, but we let each other have our personal realities.
  18. I don't know the details but I have been to small one day weddings. I am sure less than 40 people. The wedding was held inside as most of us were eating, Saw maybe 4 monks, the wedding couple came out after and danced. All done at their home.
  19. It depends on the site. I have played cat and mouse with Amazon Prime for a while. I watch movies. I could go for a while on one US VPN server, and then they would catch me and I would change to another server and that would work for a while. Then nothing would work. At the last I found that if I used a browser that I only used for Amazon Prime and a US VPN server, it worked every time. I quit Prime this year so I don't know for sure if it is still an option.
  20. I have Wellsfargo and use surfshark. I have no problem connecting with them without VPN, but if I use the VPN they make me do the two step security. I can still logon. For me it is just easier to turn VPN off to logon to the site. I maybe that I had done the two step on my Thai connection years ago but I spend 6 months there and 6 months here every year and at neither location have I needed to to the two step again.
  21. I would think your wife will do as 2baht said above. Doesn't she want a village wedding that would encompass all of what you are suggesting?
  22. I think I received one maybe 15 years ago. I believe that are sent out random or may maybe special cases. As long as they have your contact address you don't have to worry.
  23. Had a friend that fought in the war. Often woke up on the floor with his mattress pulled over him after hearing a loud noise. Said trained reaction.
  24. There are so many for Android. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=thai+to+english+translator&c=apps My Thai wife has been using the Thai-English Translator for years. I like Google Lens for reading text on signs and menus
