    Take the job. Move to Phuket alone. Scope the place out and see how the job fits, then move the family. Planning life in 5-year bites is not a bad strategy.

    Back in the day taxi drivers would get a "commission" if they brought a passenger to gem store. A friend of mine used to suggest to a taxi driver that he would go to the gem store in the taxi, the driver could claim his "commission" and then split the commission and have lunch together.

    Honda spare parts for small bikes can be ordered at the Honda dealer. Most Honda parts can be obtained from the biggest spares stockist and one smaller place. Yamaha with order spares. Kawasaki parts have to come from Lazada or the next biggest city dealership, but they will post/mail them.

    Quite common. In our local "big" bike workshop they request we buy some of our own spares as they are not locally available.

    Once a year a certain running/drinking group in Bangkok has a river cruise. We used to stand semi-inebriated at the back of our boat and yell "You paid too much" as we passed the dinner cruise boats.

    Some idiot🤔 Local immigration office provides a list of what they need I return on the date they request and then they prepare all the paperwork while we wait. All I do is sign and sit in front of the camera.
