The Triumph 3.0 V8 has been deemed the worse engine ever created. Though Triumph was then part of BMC/BL, they let Triumph continue trying to create a Triumph V8 when BL already had the Buick/Rover 3.5 V8 in their arsenal. It was a big mistake.... ???? PS. Daimler/Jag had the "little" V8, it was a 2.5..????

It really is about torque numbers at a sensible rpm. In a truck you need those numbers at a low RPM, where a work horse mainly works, together with a sensible final drive ratio. Some rides which do not have low RPM grunt compensate with a lower ratio rear end or lower trans gear ratio's. To be honest, you really should test drive one with all the extended family in the back, a bit of weight.... ???? Read the first para regarding grunt.... https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-news/isuzu-d-max-gets-1-9-litre-diesel-option

Recent (well, maybe pre-Covid) cataract surgery in Thailand ?

Just find a gov hospital that does the job, I got both mine done in an Army hozzy about 20 minutes away from home. All in cost 18k an eye, that's including one night in the hozzy both times, which I didn't like, but the sight results did bring a smile after years of frustration... ???? -
Most cars of the BMC/BL era rusted away, regardless of make. I had quite a few BL cars over the years, of which some, I thought, were very clever designs. The Mini was a revolution, and that soon went into the setup of many BL rides. I thought the Austin Maxi was a great car, first to have 5 speed, not only was it cavernous, because of front-wheel drive, it had a huge hatchback tailgate, but it never had an MG badge, the performance version was just called HLS, mum had one...????
