Who said anything about giving up electricity. I can remember folk in the UK camping outside nuclear power stations because it was nuclear, where are they now... Stop oil brigade super glueing their hands to the road, so traffic can't move, causing even more pollution in the jams. These folk probably parked up in Tesco's car park.... They do absolutely nothing to force anything..

Isn't that strange, I can get a Visa/extension with my yellow book as proof of residence, yet your place won't renew a simple thing like a licence with one. Just goes to show how petty some offices can be..... -

2 of everything, most places accept yellow book name address page, take the book with you... -
If a Thai has a PP they can use it, if not they pay, I think, 40bht for the waiver/entry paper, that's what Mrs.T does... At Mukdahan there is a small building before the bus ticket office to get this waiver paper. printed off.

Most Thai's haven't got a passport, they enter Laos on a waiver, procured by their I.D. card. Anyhooo, the wife does not have to attend at the Savv-Consulate with you.
