  1. There are 7 types of diabetes, yes 1.5 [LADA] is found in the older people, 1.5 [MODY] is normally found in young people, often found because of sudden weight lose/thirst/peeing
  2. Shipped from overseas ++ No product warranty Also in Thailand..... Abbott House Lumpini Building I asked them a few years ago, the implant needed changing every 14 days, set up for a years supply was something like 24,000 baht.... + Dr Fee and training I just use the normal Accu-Chek monitor, the strips can be bought in lots of places, Red Cross Hospital Pharmacy ground floor 100 strips = 1,200 baht, around the same opposite in the 3 Pharmacies on Rama 4 - normally buy on-line around 800 baht for 100 strips, been using a Accu-Chek monitor for about 25 years With NO needles pricks at all per day would be an Insulin Pump and Glucose Sensor. all in one ? but injection site must be replaced every 3 days ?
  3. Do you have a Blood testing machine ? you need one you need to test every day... 286 is high do you know what the reading was this morning ? after taking 2 x 500 mg Metformin since December... R U going down ? going up? you need to test mornings [fasting] + To start with before eating + 2 hours after every meal, after a while you will know what is rising your blood sugar levels Everyone is different + different food reacts differently in different people.. as for There's a lot of misinformation in the nutrition field - I agree 100%.... 2 Thai friends [one is 64 the other early 40's] have Metformin + Insulin every day = nothing to do with being overweight as both very skinny thin diagnosed with Diabetes 34 years ago, remember back then BS was over 500 Fasting + a1c 15%. but think I had it for many years before then, Red Cross Hospital BKK, diagnosed in 2015 have LADA Diabetes and Insulin 2 x day was added, last few years keep around 95 - 120 every morning [102 this morning] 103 with A1c 6.1 last week Hospital blood work. For reasons never worked out, the few odd times will suddenly drop I get a cold sweat and shakes = test BS and sure my BS is down far to low 60 or under.... + also on the odd times my BP [Blood Pressure] will suddenly drop like to 50/30
  4. Never understand why people use Private Hospitals then complain ? Always use for many years Government Hospitals, last year banged my head bad went to the E R the nurse cleaned the wound, the Dr stitched it up the nurse dressed it...... 15 stitches + 2 different Med"s for 5 days, bill 360 baht... daily cleaning and redressing 100 baht a day, 6 days later stitches out cost 60 baht... Thai friend has works Insurance, so uses private Hospital, stepped on something at work last month, 12 stitches + some pain killers & antibiotics 9,100 baht !! + 1,700 baht for daily re dressing I am happy with the Government Hospitals here, [did use Private Hospital in 2004, never since]
  5. https://www.brother.co.th/en/products/all-printers/printers/dcp-1510 https://www.advice.co.th/product/laser-printer/brother/brother-laser-hl-1210w
  6. I have the Brother DCP-1510 and still great results after 6 + years. Always buy non-branded toners Do not print very much maybe 5 pages a month, but use the scanner many times a week, [if you are scanning colour it scans/saves in colour] It is good to have a printer at home for the odd print needed [live out in the sticks] got sick and fed up the Inkjets {NOT cheap ones] clogging up all the time + worked out expensive as all the colour tanks replacement costs + the Inkjets appeared to be about 2 years before unusable before having to buy yet another new one... The Brother DCP-1510 was the 1st and only Laser printer I have ever had, would never go back to Inkjets.
  7. No idea, maybe the newer ones are not so good ??. maybe a fitting problem ? or the paint ? Maybe km covered ? we live some 55 km from BKK, many work in BKK, one drives to Hue Hin every day = high usage here in the Village, one guy with a Vigo 2016. is gold, the canopy looks more dirty muddy grey these days and another with a Ford is dark blue very faded in places 2014, + problems with the window struts and the rear lock, both have the same very faded canopy back lights - there now yellow not red........ saying that the Black 4 door Vigo 2018. is still perfect he will change it this year anyway as done 420,000 km. The only problem we had with the Sammitr canopy was the motor for the auto back release got stuck one day a new one was fitted by Sammitr... we normally change pickup @ 300,000 km or 3 years. because of Covid present one is almost 5 years old will change in the next few months. Downside, the steel canopy has not got a front the roof and side are butted up to the cab and mastic makes the seal = if cab and canopy flexes + the sun = can crack and let water in if it rains,,,, new mastic is easy applied The Carryboy is a fiberglass tub so has a front to it = there is a gap between cab and canopy = better ? mess can get down between so cover both the canopy front and cab rear windows. one old guy with a old model used to take the back off every year to clean
  8. Best one is https://www.sammitr.com/en/pickup-truck-solutions-steel-canopy-and-accessories/ There Steel, Canopies - NOT Fiberglass that fades and cracks
  9. Is the reason I use a few different browsers No problem using Opera browser currys.co.uk opens fine but blocked with that message on Chrome and AVG browsers... use AIS
  10. Thanks Like today, feel odd/bad + bad eyes + the shakes, BP OK bit low, but BS very low...... = wasted 5 strips trying to find the blood would be so much easier to look at a automatic monitor. [or with voice]... did ask a Dr a couple of years ago = Dexcom G6 Sensor was very expensive + expensive ongoing supplies.
  11. Blood Glucose Smart Watch anyone got one do they work ? read last year https://thaiembdc.org/2021/04/21/thailand-develops-smartwatch-that-measures-blood-sugar/ but seen nothing since, but see China has them... + on Lazada and shopee If they work would save a lot in the long run with the price of the monitor strips.... + convenient and can see anytime one wished
  12. Bought the largest one a few years ago expensive every few months went back to Samsung repair centre would not charge, was FREE for the 1st year, returned maybe 7 times always the same problem, would take 3 days to repair... Then they started charging so has been sat in a draw for the past 3 or so years....
  13. 1991 high cholesterol Dr Prescribed 20 mgs of bestatin every night. Still prescribes them every visit so have taken them for 32 years = cholesterol is fine get the full works blood test every year Friend has been on 40 mgs of bestatin every lunch time for about 6 years and is still on the high side
  14. Friend tested Positive last Tuesday mouth saliva test.. He went to the Hospital and took another test = Negative Dr said before testing brush teeth + use mouthwash, take your med's wait 30 mins then test... to many people are testing positive because of old germs in mouth giving false readings. He has tested every day since all Negative.. something I did not know - [only use for years C 20 Antiseptic Mouth Wash]
  15. Maybe there is a notice displayed ? Went this last week into the Pink Bank, deposited the 11.000 baht into Bank Book for House loan, have been doing this every month for the past 15 years..... This time MUST have Passport.... would not accept without id/passport had to call friend who came to the Bank with his id.. There was a notice all in Thai - every transaction = must show id [for non Thai then Passport] ... regardless of Nationality Never been asked before in 1000s of Visits
  16. only read the other day passenger boarded with tickets and boarding passes to find there seats were not even there The plane seating + the computer did not match... there was 3 rows of seats less fitted then showed on the computer/booking staff did not know.
  17. Think the OP answered the question .. "no intention to ever live back in the mother country" me at over 70 never bothered to renew my UK license, cannot see myself ever returning to the UK. [needs to be renewed every 3 years + Medical for the over 70's] . had my Thai license for 18 years, so will just keep renewing that.. Also have a German, French, Dutch and Portuguese Driving licenses no idea if or when then run out likewise cannot see myself ever returning.
  18. Had no idea been looking at going EV on the next car {Feb 2023 change] but here appear not a good idea yet, but been looking, appears the automatic system is already being tested in many places but some time away... Dynamic Wireless Power Transfer (DWPT) - a system that relies on coils positioned beneath the road surface to charge the EV. Israel and Italy , Denmark, Norway. Holland are testing different types, also roadside charging markers.. Appear Japan will have the Wi-Fi charging system by 2025
  19. Not sure I understand the push for EV cars Clean air, No solid dirty fuel, OK thought that LPG was pushed to cover this, CNG and NGV the newest... You have some places in the UK where people go out and cut or let down big cars/4x4 tyres in protest, some of these are on gas so clean ? or are they..... there again Guess these Protesters will do the same with EV cars it they are short on Electric at home The way I see EV is every so often there must be built in boost charge lanes on the roads so the EV cars get charged, {like in Formula E race } Like here you charge up pre-pay for your Motorway pass, do the same for recharging EV's on the move of course the downside is Government worldwide would have to invest million/billions The biggest problem gas was the time it took to fill with gas over petrol, with EV's at present appears takes a hour or so to charge + the waiting time to get to a charger..
  20. No idea is it good or bad ? Always drank for 30 + years no lees then 30 mugs of fresh black coffee a day. was the only drink the coffee machine was ON from the time I woke up to the time went to bed.... When I moved here 19 years ago, drank less coffee, for past 10 year always drink 5 mugs black coffee every morning..... one Dr in his 60's here seen him many times over the years said to drink less, I told him I do as used to drink 30 cups a day !!!! Do have Blood Pressure problems, Another Dr 2 months ago [looked to be just out of short pants] [on my 3 monthly check up] said if my BP is low drink another cup of coffee or 2 as this will rise it.... Yesterday morning was bad blurred almost passing out --- BP was 101/58. after 6 mugs of black coffee BP was 147/77......... so maybe it works ?? Appears every DR/Medical person has different ideas on most things
  21. Not in CM..... also snapping my frame went into a local Thai optical shop out in the sticks near me, he looked at them, tested my eyes, said the lenses were OK so we looked at new frames, ... He then went on his machine and trimmed my lenses to fit the new frames... so can be done/repaired Earlier this year had my eyes tested at Government Hospital, she said best to down grade to bifocals [have had Varifocals for over 40 years] total cost with new Frames + lenses + Eye Dr test 1,200 baht. Hate bifocals will not have them again
  22. Had a problem like this a while ago PC battery maybe the problem = the clock is running slow or stops intermittently = Invalid token as you try signing out before you sign in or so it thinks..... ?? [did have a problem of the year suddenly changing] After I replaced my battery never had the problem again............
  23. For some maybe..... had part 1 in November 2019 = 5 days in Hospital, told not to have the final part. of this Vaccine.
  24.
