'They' was the sorting office. They photograph each (important?) package & allocate it to a delivery guy. They wrote the wrong number which was compounded by the insouciant guy tossing it over a fence without getting a signature.
The Spanish Embassy approved my (GF's) application within three days.
They have not delivered a single piece of mail addressed in English in six years; Xmas/birthday cards binned. More importantly they did not deliver my Proof of Life form from the DWP which meant my State pension was stopped, causing me great stress and complication.
BIB = Boys in Brown. RTP in whatever location have the tools but just don't use them. Sometimes it's laziness; a desire to stay in A/C comfort; other times it's for financial reasons.
'The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing' My whingeing is mostly aimed at RTP & in particular Pattaya's Kwaistone cops. Do I take it you see no wrong there?
Now she has revealed the winning number, the price of 10818 will go through the roof. (In any case, the winning ticket has usually been sold to a Hi-So, before the draw.)
I am not a police lover and hold them 80% responsible for the daily death figures. I have noticed a marked improvement in Pattaya centre (not so much in the sticks). Vietnam manages 99% helmet use/enforcement; was this enforced by higher fines?
I cut/pasted a photo into Word & printed a page of them (on photo paper). I used them for years by dint of always wearing the same shirt in the photo to suggest I'd just had it taken.
Love Lewie's writing. Can't believe there are FOUR people with no sense of humour. How can I ensure I never miss one of his threads. Is there a follow button that applies to writers not just topic?
Keep It Simple Stupid. Just check what Vietnam is doing and imitate. If Thai admin can make anything complicated they will.
This is a micro-example repeated thousands of times a day. I go to Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya 3 times a week to play table tennis. When you have finished, you get a ticket stamped by the cashier; go down two floors; locate the information desk manned by two workers and have your parking ticket endorsed; then locate your car.
These non-jobs are all in the name of the much vaunted 98% supposed full employment figures. Look at the whistling car-park attendants; look at the MAKRO Bill-checkers who can scan 183 articles in 1.7 seconds before you are permitted to take your trolley to the car; look at the number of Immigration officers who sit at desks chatting; bank assistants will ignore customers (especially ones with a language problem); go to Thaiwatsadu cellar & you will find groups of ten non-workers actively hiding from work.
and the disappearance of many local cats.
Times must be hard if authorities are arresting workers early in the month. SOP is to wait till near the end so the employer saves on wages.
This is part of the problem. Thais are extremely impatient and will make risky decisions rather than wait (for a green light) or train barrier. After the long delayed arrival of the train, there's a dangerous free-for-all amongst the traffic build up.
