There's a novelty. If Plod did this regularly, the daily death figures might come down? -
Pattaya Plod has been staffed by drones for the last two decades of my memory. It's getting them to leave their offices that's the problem.

Commencement of UK state pension
mikebell replied to 503726's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
Then it must be the local sorting office. Here is a recent example of Bang Lamung's crapness. My GF successfully applied for a Schengen Visa; it was posted back to her by the Spanish Embassy as she had paid for Courier delivery. Despite this; despite the address being in Thai, the package never arrived. A journey to the sorting office showed that they had written the wrong delivery address. The courier merely tossed it into a garden without securing a signature. 48 hours of anxiety was finally ended when the house owner noticed it in his garden & phoned GF's number on the front of the package. -

I NEVER get any mail delivered to my Thai address - including the very-necessary Proof of Life form because Thai Mail is crap. I now use my daughter's UK address & she sends me a photo of any mail. I wish I'd done this 17 years ago - my pension would be 100% more than it is today! -

Crime Chonburi Karaoke Bar Raided for Underage Prostitution
mikebell replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
As I read the headline, I assumed that the raid would yield no crime being committed on the 'forewarned is forearmed' policy. I was amazed that criminality was discovered, until I read it took the police at least six months to check it out. -
Thank you all for your responses. I/he are much relieved. I have, however thought of a further complication; he/my daughter/myself are having a holiday in Vietnam. After a short stay in Bangkok, does leaving the country & then returning negate his 60 day Visa Waiver? He wants to stay in Thailand for 60 days on our return from Vietnam.

I am easily confused; (it's an age thing.) My son-in-law wishes to stay with me to avoid a chunk of 2026 UK Winter. His/my research for VOA TR60 = Requirements for Visa-on-Arrival: Application Form: Fully completed. Photo: One recent photograph. Proof of Funds: 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family. Passport: Must have at least 1 month of validity and at least 2 blank pages. Travel Tickets: Fully paid onward travel tickets that are usable within 30 days. Fee: 2,000 Baht (cash only, non-refundable). How can the above bold line work? How secure is paying 2000 baht across a counter at BKK? Anyone paste a link for the application form?

It baffles me how quickly Plod swings into action when the victim is a Hi-So, whilst Lo-sos have to appeal for action via Facebook.- 1 reply

Remember 1st comes the feasibility committee; (10 million for several members of Hi-So local families). Next comes the jockeying for the building contract by mega-companies distributing 'sweeteners'. This money is then recouped by skimming on the suppliers of materials. The resultant build will cost many lives and police will begin an investigation, after warning those involved, to leave for foreign climes.

It's obvious that they are Cambodian 5th Columnists preparing the ground for an invasion of Thailand. This is scheduled to take place at 1 minute past noon on any Wednesday in August. The timing is crucial as all Thailand shuts down for Noodles at Noon. By the time Thai Generals return from their three hour feast, it will all be over. -
Report Pattaya Motorbike Drivers Protest Strict Helmet Law Fines
mikebell replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I am not serious except when I hold up Pattaya's invisible police for scrutiny. It is my contention that the local (village) policeman is the 1st example of corruption that the average Thai meets in his lifetime. Everything flows downhill from this in every walk of Thai society. -

They are not used to seeing police working. Not to worry, it won't last a month or cops will be dropping with exhaustion at the unaccustomed exercise. -
I don't Know if 'Sirens' has been mentioned. Not the puerile Fire brigade nonsense, but a grown-up series with characterisation & slick dialogue. Stars Kevin Bacon and Julianne Moore + Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock.
