  1. Meet 2 uk guys today , one was stabbed 2 times on may 5th , by a guy from isreal , so no Thai bashing .. He was in the police station as bkk hospital where holding his passport as 3 days in icu where 620,000 thb , he was transferred to nathon , where a further 14 days treatment where 39'000 thb .. The police wanted the uk guy to get the isreal guy to pay his hospital although he had insurance , but the insurance would not pay due to an iv trip on the bill be 37,0000 thb ...

So not to dull on samui , just never reported ,

  2. Surely by now every tourist who comes to Pattaya is aware of these scams and must know to avoid them like the plague. All countries have access to the internet even if their media have not warned their citizens of the risk involved.

    No they are not

I spent 30 mins on beach road yesterday , and watch 2 people scammed out of 100,000 the each .. It's a joke .. It made my blood boil as pattaya is becoming better but this vile is keeping it bad !

  3. Spending a couple of days in pattaya ..

Was walking along beach road when I saw the jet ski guys giving a tourist a rough time . I sat down to watch .. Same story, damage to the side , and they wanted 100,000 thb ...

While watching this , 2 other guys rented a jet ski , came back 15 mins later .. And they tried the same scam on them! But even more shocking is there is a foreigner also involved who try's to negotiate with the tourismt .

Utter disgusting ... And if I saw 2 people done in 30 mins , how many are scammed everyday !

Pattaya is such a better place then it was before , but what i saw was just not on

  4. i think also the problem is the journalist aren't allowed to tell or investigate the story, i remember with the death of kevin, one of the papers had photo evidence that he was in fact murdered and had proof, but they where told to not report by the police !,

  5. has anyone got any good experiences to tell? , i have rented once from Lamai ( outside Lamai Wanta, and never had an issue with them ) , plus also in Chong Mon once .....

Good friend of mine also rented one out from the Lamai Wanta area and never had a problem. I put this down to them not being able to scam everyone and that my friend comes across at the sort of person who would rather punch out someones lights and serve time than back down.

The Jet Skis on Lamai beach are owned and run by Water Edge Sports, an Australian company.

hmmm, so that might explain why no one gets ripped off then??? .... maybe they could get the licence to run every beach in thailand .

  6. Three or four years ago Air Asia bought 600 Rai at Don Sak for exactly this purpose but gave up on the idea. They were going to run a high speed ferry between Don Sak and Koh Samui.

When Bangkok Airways redeveloped the existing airport they created the Samui Airport Property Fund which sold out at 10.9 Billion Baht with reported earnings of 10.9%. This fund effectively paid for the new airport although the runway was already there. Who is contributing to that - the passengers as we well know.

Now building a new airport would not be cheap if it is going to be big enough to handle the larger aircraft and meet international aviation standards. Who is going to fund this? Do Samui Residents have that amount of money to invest? (Maybe we should ask the taxi drivers to stump up!) It can only be done by Thais (in my opinion) partly of course due to land ownership issues but also because powerful political forces would be needed to see this through.

Still cannot see why they cannot build out into the bay, its not deep and it has been done all over the world.

the backhander to the marine department wouldnt make in feasible

  7. I beleive you can fly from Suratthani or Phuket to BKK for roughly half the cost!!!!Samui airport and the flights are a complete rip off! mad.gif

NOK AIR . Surat - Don Muang Bht 1426 one way

Air Asia Surat - Suvarnabhumi Bht 1426 one way.

    anyone know the baggage allowance?

    • Director said: 'Women from the rich West exploit young African men. But it's also a business, and they (the men) get something for it'
    • It had its gala premiere yesterday in Cannes, where it is one of 22 films competing for the Palme d'Or

  10. So what is there to do for an Average Joe on Samui during the day? , cant seem to find a detailed list ,

as far as i know , but not to sure on the upto date prices ( maybe Dave at ST can fill the caps in )

    1) Day out fishing - Price ?? ( used to be about 1,000 thb)

    2) Day out snorkling/ Diving

    3) Island Tour - Different packages avilable

    4) Visit to marine park

what else is there to do? any secret hidden gems to explore on the island?

  11. OP.

There is a place called Chinese Taipei. So how about Chinese Siam? smile.png

Only if it involves a massive sponsorship deal. If there is more cash on the table I would go for Sky Thai or Pepsiam.

a country is generally named after what it is good at and know for , so Thailand it is all about Getting your leg over with a young bar girl and getting scammed on the way home

but saying that, the russians are now taking over, so you really need to put all the above in to get the name

  12. Went there maybe 12 months ago.

Was every girl a lady of the night? ... who knows, didn't speak to every girl ... but the two ladies who occupied the spare seats at my table were free lancing.

The band was good but the song selection will depend on the band playing on the night.

What I did like was sometime between 11pm and Midnight out came the free food.

Pop over to the table and load your plate up.

Normally I wouldn't go down Soi 3 except to go to the Hospital but was in another Bar and I always ask a local about where they go ... and they suggested the Bamboo Bar.

May we know why you are asking?

No cover charge so logicial to just go and see for yourself.

Sure, you may know why I am asking....Because I went there twice last year, had a blast, and was hoping that the place is being run the same way it was back then. I can only hope to meet a non-working girl, though....I know that this is not the most popular view, but I would prefer being with a woman for free rather than having to pay for intimate services....So the question remains: Are there non-working girls there?

    Thanks in advance.

One way or another you always pay...

    very true ! .

and if you are looking for a ' normal ' girl, soi 3 probably isnt the best place !. try Soi 11, RCA and Thong Lor .. plenty of normal girls there, and a few rich ones !
