  1. I have had more people look at my house from the boards in big c and tesco than any of the 8 agents i have my house with!but still cant sell after 4 years, will have to wait, its the same all over the world.

So surly if your house has been on the market for 4 years , people have viewed , it's with all the agents , the price might be too high ? Property is selling in Samui , pattaya , Phuket and Bangkok .. But it is a buyers market and not a sellers market .

  2. Since the events that Made Tim Famous, his Facebook now has over 42,000 Subscibers , and is growing fast in numbers everyday !

    https://www.facebook.com/timshark

I think every member here with a Facebook account is subscibed , as it was Thaivisa who first gave out his FB profile, and it has grown from there in a short space of time...

but, if you take the time out to read his posts, he is a truly remarkable guy, and personally a credit to pattaya !, just wish he would sort the Jet Ski lot out !

but every post he makes, he normally gets over 4,000 likes !, could even be a marketing tool to some biz in pattaya !

    ALSO

sinse Tim Ward has been on the scene , anyone else notice the Glitter Man has disappered ?

  3. Very weird. Why would anyone swallow 110 gr heroin, then "smuggle" from Bangkok to Samui.....and how would he have given the heroin to someone at the airport after arrival....and why immigration when you are already in Thailand???????

    Not 1.April yet.....no.....just checking.

You can pass immigrations and customs on Koh Samui, don't have to do it in BKK

Most immigration coming to Samui is done at BKK. Only direct flights are processed here.

Perhaps the better way of looking at it, is the guy cleared customs in BKK, & was on his way to Samui. They still have a CQ sticker & immigration here do keep an eye, as in most cases is forwarded direct to Samui. They do random checks.

also as there is NO PC red tape here, they probably suspected he was up to no good if he was from Nigeria...

  4. Royal Tandoori (40-50m N of Weekender in Lamai)

I often pop down to the food stalls next to the lady boxing and grab a lamb biryani (140 Baht and quite good) but yesterday I stopped at Royal Tandoori and got a mutton Biryani instead to take away. Rice was a little soft which I expected as Jasmine rice is not up to the job but the flavour was wonderful. The main reason I am writing this is bacause of the seriously large volume of mutton that was used. Price was 180 Baht but I got 2 dinners out of it.

Back out in a couple of days and think I may go in for a sit down for a prawn vindaloo.

i used to use this indian many moons ago, and was always impressed with the portions and quilty

  5. Bangkok Airways has won its court case against the Koh Samui Municipality, enabling it to re- trieve household tax payments worth Bt117 million.

The municipality started pressuring for household tax payments after the airline’s launch of a property fund in 2007. The fund raised Bt9.3 billion for the 449 rai (72 hect- ares) of land used by Samui Airport. The air- line later struck a 30-year lease with the fund for the airport’s management.

The airline insisted that the property fund was part of fund mobilization, not property leasing, whose returns would be subject to household taxes.

  6. A Nigerian national was arrested May 8 after 10 packets of cocaine were found in his stomach. Pol. Col. Watchana Boworn- boon.

Suratthani immigration police superintendent, said the suspect, Okpara Obin- na Uzochukwu, 27, arrived at the airport on a Bangkok Airways fight from Bangkok.

He was cupping his belly, complaining of severe stomach pain, as he passed the passport- checking area of the airport.

  7. New airport unlikely, mayor says

SAMUI doesn’t have much space to build a second airport, Mayor Ramnate Jaikwang said recently.

The mayor said he understood the need for another airport to bring down the cost of air tick- ets to Samui. But the island no longer has vast track of lands for the new airport’s runways.

Leveling mountains to be developed into an airport could destroy the island’s environment and ecological balance, he added.

  9. Just being here for a few days , and being away for 6 months , I can see the sheer build up of traffic , there are now to many cars using the roads for what they where design for .. Plus more motorbikes ( kids being the worst ) using the roads. You now even have to wait nearly 5 mins to cross the ring road safely , before , maybe 20 secs as no traffic , but now it's like the m25 , but with 25 times the butters driving ...

Question is , how can the island cope ? , as nothing appears to being done now ? I also see more mercs and porches on the island .. But a small island should reallymbe limited to only x amount of cars?

Plus I also see then-daily road kill has gone up here , not animals but humans , was surprised to see a guy knock off a bike and killed warranted all of 15 mins time and the roadnwas back to normal

  10. OMG! where did you find this?

Hope they round up the wild boar on Koh Tan.... first! or there will be hit and run incidents and pigs flying! laugh.pngwhistling.gif

(yes it's true, there are wild boar on Koh Tan.....)

This has been around for a few days ... I would have posted but i was waiting for my land deal to go through .. I am now the proud owner of 4 rai on koh tan , with exclusive rights to 7/11 , family mart, kfc and burger king ... Worlds first only tropical island service station

  11. It is not that easy.

Bandit Airways says " We carry 900,000 or 1 mill or whatever" tourists a year. But they cannot tell if they areThai tourists, Thai locals, foreign tourists or foreign locals.

They cannot sort out who are tourists on the ferries.

    reality - NFI

    Probably 1 to 1.5 mil

Boater - the immigration numbers will be low. There are too many places not reporting tourists regularly.

Well someone in immigration isn't doin there job properly .... Hint hint ...
