  1. Of that I cannot be entirely sure, yes you might be right. I insisted on asking whether they knew what my tax number was and they did and showed proof of it. Shortly after this we got a visit from the Immigration Police who wanted to see my passport. There then followed a very protracted discussion about my Non-Immigrant B visa being under process and documents having been submitted and so on. They said because there is evidence that you are paying tax deductions and that there is evidence that the process to get your work visa clearly is underway, we are not going to do anything and arrest you. But we are going to come back at the beginning of the next academic year (mid-May) to double-check that you are telling the truth as the process should have been completed by then and you should have your work permit and visa by then. If you have not then we are going to take action. That was what happened.
  2. I did that and yes it was being paid.

  8. Hello all, I have accepted a job and been asked to go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with my qualifications. I have a degree, which has a notarization, and apostille and has been legalized by the Thai Embassy in London, and I have been asked to take this to the MFA. Unfortunately the school I am at is not exactly well-organized and getting extra information off them is proving very difficult indeed. They have said its part of the overall process to get a Non-B but that's it Could someone tell me what the point of me actually going there is? What are they going to do with the document I give them? Secondly, will I need to get the document translated? Thanks.
  9. Yes, I would also like to know that.

  12. Aha, that one yes. Many of them have done in the past yes. But why on earth anyone would want to go to them, where small bottles of beer are 180 baht, music is usually dreadful and girls are all boring I don't know.
  13. Some do yes

  19. Correct. It's a bit harsh to call it a tourist trap. It does have character, or at least it did. Not so sure now.
  20. Maybe he should have learned to control his emotions instead of choosing a life in prison for not doing so.
  21. If you ask me, that is definitely a UFO, and I should know, I've seen a few.
