Secret feature of your cordless drill !
sometimewoodworker replied to Social Media's topic in DIY Forum
The Festool drill tightens to the maximum by holding the barrel as I spin the chuck and doesn’t tighten further with the chuck stationary. The Mikita however will tighten further with the chuck stationary. It is quite possible that Festool may actually be making their own, it is virtually certain that they make the CENTROTEC chuck (which isn’t really a chuck at all but a shaft retention device) however the keyless chuck could possibly be a custom Röhm (Reohm) chuck, though it doesn’t have the locking system from the Röhm video so probably not one of theirs. -
Thai Driving Licence form - where to download?
sometimewoodworker replied to bbi1's topic in Pattaya
Regrettably the DLT site is exclusively in Thai apart from the licence and IDP requirements. I have never got a form before going to the DLT offices and neither have any of our Thai friends, I have never seen anyone going in or to the counter with forms. The only things have been the documents required, the counter staff always fill in the form if there is one. So printing off a form is reasonably pointless. -

It doesn’t work on either my Mikita or Festool drills -
Converting UK to Thai Driving Licence
sometimewoodworker replied to DodgerRodger's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
While I can’t comment on Bangkok DLT offices certainly here in Isaan many offices do not have queue systems, most will allow just turning up as well if there is a queue, but you will almost certainly need to watch the video on line and printout the certificate if you want smooth sailing. Also you can go to any DLT office, though smaller ones may refuse(too difficult), giving you an opportunity to travel to more places in Thailand, a Thai speaker may be required in some. -
At 15m you’re likely to be getting surface water not down into the aquifer, so I would want an analysis of the composition.
-
And you haven’t mentioned the fact that all the water authorities ban pumping direct from the mains.

Is it wise or acceptable that PEA splits 2 ways?
sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
It is wonderful stuff but a bit spendy, the stretch cuts the width by around 50%. I just fixed SWMBOs watering hose that I split by running it over in the morning when it was a bit hard. It did the job very well, so it works for plumbing as well as lecky. -
I would try iwater 599 Moo 2 Mittraphap Road Tambon Sila Amphoe Muang Khon Kaen 40000 Though the other obvious place is Khon Kaen University or PWA Regional Office 6

With our house, though I didn’t use CAD, our architect took our SketchUp and pencil design put into CAD and a professional SketchUp model and we got almost exactly what we had designed. There are few things that I would change but nothing major.

Driver lic renewal bkk. 2 year to 5.
sometimewoodworker replied to RoyLee's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
AFIK and i could easily be wrong there isn't usually a test for a renewal. So this maybe a DLT office specific one, or a new requirement. Certainly here in Udon I haven't heard of it being required. -
“It says” you don’t give the information as to what or where “it” is that you are quoting. The English language versions of many websites, both official and non official, are notoriously either not up dated, have incorrect and/or incomplete information. This is reasonably well known. The websites of the embassies are inconsistent in the information they provide, many have information that has been superseded several or even many years ago. There were not several embassies that stopped issuing the letters, there were initially 4 this shortly dropped to 3 The immigration division almost immediately followed, even preceded, this with the memorandum I referenced above. This memorandum was translated and published by ThaiVisa, AFIK it is probably still available on the aseannow.com website. As it is signed by Police Lieutenant General (Surachet Hakpal) Commissioner of the Immigration Bureau it is a definitive as it is possible to be in Thailand The requirements have been extensively explained over the last 4 years here

How to unlock a device when the owner dies.
sometimewoodworker replied to Social Media's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Then go to https://support.google.com/accounts/troubleshooter/6357590?hl=en you may well require legal documentation including the death certificate -
You must have had your head in the sand for the last few years as the immigration department has given clear guidelines of how you and the colonial cousins can provide the required proof of foreign income, not to mention the dozens of threads in this forum giving the same information. the immigration policy No. 0029.173/Wor Date: 26 December 2018 the Memorandum Date: 4 Jan 2019 is the one giving this So exactly what “info is out of date”

You are welcome to prove 3 months prior to renewal, personally mine is in 12 months prior. However immigration only requires the deposit to be in-the bank for 2 months prior to application. (For retirement the deposit needs to be at 800k 2 months prior to application etc) These requirements have been in place for several years now.

We have used non glossy tiles everywhere, some with more grip than others. There is one problem with that and that is that they take marks and stains quite easily, to the extent that I’ve just purchased a powered floor scrubber, it does a reasonable job but certainly isn’t fast, quiet or cheap, even so I probably wouldn’t change any of the tiles to glossy ones just because of that.

Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?
sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
Well since I probably made the table I’m going to use I have more leeway on on that, along with the point that I’m probably less likely to damage my own work ???? -
Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?

Not bad though the PTT2-26DFR at ⅔ the price does offer more bang for the buck. -
Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?
sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
Any table will do for a bench, for cleaner, use Lazada, you can get cans of break cleaner, grease, any farm supply shop has that, tools, you probably need very few, again any farm supply shop has them, possibly just a Philips driver. Far from a forgone conclusion until some TLC has been performed, but maybe. use Lazada, you can get Bits you want or a farm supply shop. -
Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?
sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
It is very clear that there has been little if any cleaning of the drill. FWIW I have power tools I’ve had in reasonably consistent uses for over 50 years that are cleaner than that drill. My first step would be to completely disassemble the drill and clean and lubricant it, at that point you can see if the lack of care has trashed the parts to the point that maintenance is not worthwhile. Things like bearings and other wear parts are unlikely to break the bank. Then you can see if it is worthwhile spending money on it It is far from clear if it is an actual Bosch tool since the reference D-70745 is for a Bosch battery. you can get a reasonable quality tool for under ฿2,000 like this, I have one. -
Bosch SDS plus rotary hammer polarity matter?
sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in The Electrical Forum
Polarity is irrelevant for those drills. They are virtually all double insulated so likely the earth pin wasn’t connected anyway and the cable is just 2 core. Quite likely the motor wiring has either burned out or shorted. -
Water meters in the villages are usually owned by the people using them, often the walls are built near, but not exactly on the boundary. So it is quite possible that neither claim is correct.

Shipping a Smart Phone from US to Thailand
sometimewoodworker replied to WaveHunter's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
It’s (or will be) an iPhone. iPhone’s are not android so changing the phone language and region configuration is simple, fast and not locked in. Chinese iPhones are different and AFAIK don’t have e-sim technology but the do have dual SIM card carriers
