Neither Safari iPad, nor Firefox ipad or even chrome iPad can display that page while they can all display other AIS pages. Also Google Lens cannot translate the page you display, while it can translate other pages without problems. So while the information maybe relevant and there are usually English buttons on many pages that avoid the requirement for Google Lens.

It very much depends on which Apple Watch you have. If you have GPS then you must have your iPhone with you. If you have GPS + Cellular then you don’t need the phone as well (assuming you have a Cellular plan with the phone) Apple watch are not tethered to anything, they are paired to an iPhone or have a mobile network plan. If you have a mobile network plan you must have roaming enabled for them to work on other networks outside Thailand. if you don’t have an account for the phone you must have roaming enabled on the iPhone for them to work on other networks outside Thailand. Both iPhones and Apple Watches can work on Wi-Fi anywhere without network roaming. in General if you have the correct roaming (don’t forget to buy a roaming plan or pay a ridiculous amount) enabled they work as well inside Thailand as they do outside.

A decent phone for 5,000 baht?
sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
however true that is, and it’s absolutely true, it is far better to save copies of photos automatically so that a disaster to the phone is a non event -
Dtac international call rates
sometimewoodworker replied to Irrumator's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Skype is very much better than it used to be, and it was never very bad for me. you may well be locked out of PayPal if you have a Thai PayPal account, however you don’t need it for Skype. I have my Thai bank card (SCB Master Card) registered and set for automatic top up of $10 when the balance is under $2.00, I get a notification about once every few months that the auto top up has kicked in. just download Skype on your phone, computer & tablet then just use it FWIW the call cost is about ฿1 per minute Aug 13 11:31 +44208xxxxxx7, United Kingdom Call $0.023 15:56 $0.420 Aug 13 12:29 +44208xxxxxx7, United Kingdom Call $0.023 06:56 $0.210 -
A decent phone for 5,000 baht?

As I said “I don’t do Android” however you can almost certainly transfer most, if not all, of the music and videos if there is enough space on the new phone. -

sometimewoodworker replied to Elkski's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Nothing, or delete them. They don’t affect the phone unless they are eating memory Created by the system or other apps. Maybe no, maybe yes, if required they maybe recreated, if deleted they may stop applications working (but probably not) They may have been. You may have done something to display them. if you have done nothing your install / system may have got corrupted. caveat: if you don’t know exactly what you are doing randomly deleting files can brick your phone. That is why sections of the OS are designed to be hidden. example normal view what is actually there i know enough to know what I can delete or change and what must be strictly left untouched I don’t know (or care enough) to bother with the details of Android systems. But I know enough about enough OSs to know how they function and the way files are named. -

None of those are apps. They are all system files. They are usually hidden virtually no apps have a “.” In the name none that I know of have more than 1 -
Recommendations for a bore water pump with filter?
sometimewoodworker replied to grain's topic in DIY Forum
I disagree. While the main supply may be ½ the shorter the length of ½ pipe used in the overall supply the lower your friction losses will be, so using 1” pipe wherever possible, this is specially important in the lower pressure town supply. This is in the posted diagrams Again I disagree, there was no noticeable loss of pressure with 3 taps wide open with my 155W pump, and it is certainly possible to have a pump that is too big if you don’t use an inverter pump (they are over double the cost) This is the standard layout of Thai water tanks, they have two lower outlets and you should always leave the bottom one with a stopcock but not connected to the pump. In our case even with a rather turbid water supply we went 10 years without opening the bottom tap so the suggested interval is rather shorter than is probably needed. -
The outside temperature is only 31° C, there is never direct sunshine, and the participants are Thai. The temperature in the house is 24° C in the main room and 30° C in the clear story so no AC required here either.

No drawings, there were none, the AC is rather better than needed but SWMBO got an inheritance so splurged. Size is 3 X 4

Recommendations for a bore water pump with filter?
sometimewoodworker replied to grain's topic in DIY Forum
Exactly the same. In the 10 years of using the 155W pump and 20 year’s reading the Thai forums. reading all the threads here I have never heard of a pump shutting down because the water supply is too hot, frankly I don’t believe it has ever happened, I would welcome evidence to the contrary. It is certainly possible to have your “cold” water supply get to a temperature that maybe slightly to warm (or even much to warm) for a cool shower. So in that case you may want to protect your tank from direct sun. Our current supply never gets over 35C so is suitable for our needs. Others may prefer a water temperature of 20° C, in which case an inground tank may be better. For us the storage of 7,500 litres of water under one of our rooms is about a 1 month supply and probably never gets over 30° C (note to self I should shut off the village supply and run those tanks dry as a test) -
If you really want a colonial flair then you should get the MrKen fan for that 72EC9213-0C83-46B5-90BD-FED30CBB78CA.MOV

Maybe in your household your spelling is correct for your inhabitants. 555555 But in English the spelling is filter for a water filter, but philter is a love potion 555555 -
Recommendations for a bore water pump with filter?
sometimewoodworker replied to grain's topic in DIY Forum
For the first 10 years of our marriage we were in a single story house and our 155W constant pressure pump was easily enough. For the pump putting a roof over it to avoid full sun will do no harm and reduce UV degradation but is not required. The thing that will assist with maintaining maximum pressure is to use 1” pipes as far as possible since the standard ½” everywhere will reduce the available pressure if you have more than about 3 tap’s running at a time. -
It is.you need a fan that goes slow and is silent. Or in other words a MrKen DC motor fan.

Completely true, zero Thai BS but not much knowledge of why you didn’t do it. And you are not designing your system efficiently if you pump from the town water supply, even more badly informed if you have a tank. there are several reasons why you never pump from the mains, there are plenty of threads listing the reasons but in general the town water supply is a positive pressure system, sucking makes it a negative pressure one and brings all kinds of contamination and pathogens you really don’t want. So fill your tank directly from the mains put your pump after the tank and your filters after the pump, though you may want a “crunchy bits” filter before the tank. The tank will act a a first settlement tank and reduce the solids pumping through the main filters. -
Are these 2000 Baht Stihl chainsaws legit?
sometimewoodworker replied to AndyAndyAndy's topic in DIY Forum
That is the most ridiculous statement I have heard. The tool is available new for ¼ of less than the price of a genuine one. It is supplied from the largest manufacturers of counterfeit products. Its price is less than the cost of the genuine parts, even excluding profit. qed it is fake. It is perfectly possible that it may work, it is even possible it may continue to work. It may be worth the price charged, equally it may be a disaster waiting to happen and slice a 6mm slot through you. However it is not a Stihl chainesaw -

The amount of transmission will undoubtedly be noticeable and probably not negligible. That is exactly why we installed the reflective blinds. The supervisor likes the warmth from the glass door and reflected heat from the blind, on the other area the other supervisor isn’t interested as she can’t easily get behind the blind The late afternoon sun can only strike the windows for a small amount of time as the trees on the workshop side provide enough shade
