The Met Police WON'T ban Poppy Day pro-Palestine rally
JonnyF replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
That's nonsense. Police are required to be unbiased and apolitical while on duty. If they cannot do that, they should not be in the police force. They cannot be seen to take sides, that type of policing is the realm of banana republics. -

I like your style. If I'm not working and fancy a sesh I always start early and finish early. Daytime drinking is much better than late night when all the weirdos come out, plus you can still function the next day. -

Don't be silly Chomper... If I wrote in one of the various Biden/Trump threads "Chomper said Biden is doing a decent job and would do a better job running the US than Trump ever could" it would be an entirely accurate description of your position. I wouldn't need to provide a quote from you saying exactly those words in exactly that order for it to be accurate . It's clearly an accurate summary of your position. Next level pedantry from you once again. -

Throughout the entire thread you have implied that the protestors are peaceful by claiming that they are simply going to peacefully protest and oppose government policy. Here is one example from page 2. -
The Met Police WON'T ban Poppy Day pro-Palestine rally
JonnyF replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Nor was it stopped by the police. The trouble is that The Met are so far to the left now that they are essentially Pro Palestine/Anti Israel themselves. It's got to the point that the officers themselves chant "Free Palestine" while on duty in uniform. Political Policing. Ignoring the law for certain ethnic/political groups. This won't end well. -

I agree. Getting rid of De Gea on a free and then spending 50 million on Onana seems silly. De Gea is a much better shot stopper and Onana's skills with the ball cannot be utilized with a back 4 that can't receive the ball confidently. Buying Mount and leaving him on the bench. Always playing Rashford even when out of form etc. He's made mistakes, but I guess my point is that changing the manager won't change much. Mourinho, Van Gaal, Rangnick, Ten Hag can't all be bad managers (Ole was). My gut feeling is Ten Hag regrets taking the job now. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts making calls out of leftfield to get the sack. Last night he made some weird decisions in the game that contributed to a 4-3 loss from 2-0 up (albeit with 10 men). I'm not saying it was deliberate, but he has an air of desperation about him now and I think he'd be relieved to go. He can see they are miles off and I don't think he has it in him to turn it around. -

Nonsense. Context is everything. When the song accompanies violence and calls for Jihad, we all know what it means. https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/11/08/from-the-river-to-the-sea-is-a-call-for-genocide/ -

How could this happen? Chomper said they are all peace loving... Expect more anti-semitism, more violence, more antagonism at the weekend. -

An excellent look at the song "from the river to the sea" that will being chanted on London streets during this 'rally'. https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/11/08/from-the-river-to-the-sea-is-a-call-for-genocide/ But to be honest, when they can (and have/will) openly call for Jihad and genocide and face no repurcussions from the biased Met Police, there is no need for coded langauge. It's interesting that for the left, an LGBT meme is hate speech yet calls for Jihad and the elimination of the state of Israel is a peaceful protest, even when they are fighting the police at the same time. They are fooling nobody. The world's oldest hatred is on the rise and those supporting it should be ashamed. -

There is a "real threat of serious disorder". They just choose to ignore it for the Pro Palestine crowd. Like I said, post a LGBT meme on Facebook and watch their balls grow. Political policing. Shameful and cowardly. -

On the plus side, he seems quite a lucky manager. They're flattered by their current league position due to some late goals in very poor performances. On the down side, he has a very poor squad that can't play the type of possession football that he wants to play. He'll do well to finish top 6 with those players, assuming he lasts the season. -

The Met police showing how biased and pathetic they are once again. We saw it during Covid when BLM were allowed a free pass while anti-lockdown protestors were shown an iron fist. We saw the Pakistani grooming gangs ignored because they didn't want to inflame tensions in minority communities. Now we have kid gloves shown to anti semites because they don't want to offend Muslims. Absolutely pathetic. Police taking political sides. Even trying to redefine the word Jihad so they don't have to take action against those calling for it. Cowards. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/mark-rowley-suella-braverman-police-scotland-yard-downing-street-b2434422.html Yet when an autistic teenager says a female cop looks like her "lesbian Nana" they suddenly grow a pair and start dragging her out of her house screaming. https://metro.co.uk/2023/10/25/police-officer-nicknamed-lesbian-nana-investigated-over-pepper-spray-incident-19719704/ Could they be any more woeful?- 696 replies

As opposed to just the right amount of rape?
-
He sounds worried, like he's trying to convince himself more than anyone else. Is it possible that their strategy of tying up Trump in ridiculous lawsuits isn't working? So now they're trying to gaslight everyone into thinking that Biden is in fact wildly popular? Desperate stuff even by their standards...

Twin Teenagers Surrender After Shooting Another Person to Death in Bangkok
JonnyF replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Actually if you read the whole story there was an exchange about which technical school they were studying at which led to an argument and then the altercation. Now I'm not saying that makes it OK (please don't strawman me), but I'm just clarifying that it wasn't quite as random as just shooting him because he didn't like the guy's face. Let's hope they both get life in jail. -
I hate the "safety" sensors on my car. The lane sway detector pulls me back into danger when I am moving away from something on the side of the road e.g. a dog, vendor, pedestrian etc. The collision detection slams the brakes on when I am doing a U-turn on a narrow road or go down a sudden dip in the road. Fortunately they can be turned off but that has to be done every journey. Very, very annoying. RIP to the 2 on the motorcycle. Being rear ended like that is my biggest fear on my motorbikes (it actually happened to me in 2020, resulting in 6 broken bones) and one reason that I tend to ride a bit faster than the traffic flow. In this case, the driver was going so fast that you'd have to be going stupid speeds to stay ahead. She should be charged with manslaughter. Probably reading something on her phone.
