  1. Nice negligible pullback with the latest btc ath. Love that institutional support. ????
  2. Yes. And it's typically a phone call asking about the nature of so and so transaction or the source of so and so funds. It's no different than if you do a lot of random SWIFT or direct transfer transactions that trigger whatever flags they might have in place. If the amounts are sustained and big enough over time, well, I don't know what happens next because it's probably not a good idea to let it get that far. One way you can keep all of this in check (IMO) is to spread it around and of course don't start acting like Justin Bieber, young Jay Z, or Richard Pryor in Superman III.
  3. Cash in in Singapore. No capital gains tax. Whenever you want to diversify out of crypto (when your Ledgers start to tingle), it's also a great place to store gold bars and also park/grow your capital on the SGX.
  4. Will wait for the first wave of 'live test' M Flow users to feel it out for awhile. Feel a bit uneasy about direct billing from this particular branch of public services. The Easy/M Pass swing barrier is only a minor nuisance.
  5. It is odd that some people are so concerned (almost fanatically) about the financial affairs of others in one particular section of the market.
  6. Plenty of stock available, don't worry.
  7. I don't think they are just counting the ones snapping up Tiger Balm heat bandages at the 7-11, but the ones buying up property by video call (presumably to visit later). Welcome brothers and sisters, let us continue to pillage and plunder together. ????
  8. Sure wish Japan would offer some reciprocity.... even with more stringent hoops given our high Covid numbers.
  9. The answer is: it depends. ???? I wouldn't say it's preferable but that's just me. My issue with having a Ledger or Trezor, etc. (despite the air tight tech protecting your crypto) in my possession is that it announces to anyone who sees it: this guy has crypto. If you're going to lock it away in a safety deposit box in a far off place, then yes, it's probably better than using an old phone with non custodial software wallet apps (which is probably better for your daily carry, going through customs, going to your tax audit, etc....then you're just a dude with a second outdated cell phone).
  10. Can't get the Thailand Pass website to load, but still feeling pretty positive this morning. Nov. 1 baby!!!
  11. I just rinse the bottles when I get home. This goes for bottled water from Lotus or Makro as well. No doubt the workers in the warehouses are all infected by now.
  12. The 'adult' version of rolling around in protest on the floor of a toy store. We've never let that kind of thing become a habit in our house.
  13. You can use the Clear health pass app. There isn't a unified US database of vaccine records so basically all the app does is allow you to upload a copy of your passport/id and your paper CDC card and it generates a QR code for you that just points to the app makers servers. When scanned, a screen pops up with your name and vaccine information (as you have entered them). Of course that whole process doesn't make it any more 'official,' it just makes everything look more official.
  14. Love cashless payments. No more jars of coins multiplying in the house and your car's change tray.
  15. Well said. No one likes the new rules, but it's either adapt or whine with no one listening. I don't like taking my shoes off or getting irradiated just to board a plane either, but what can you do? Not jet set around?
  16. We're not exempt any more. Fully vaxxed Thai nationals up until Nov. 1 WERE exempt from pre flight PCR requirements but after Nov. 1 it's....: The Royal Thai Consulate-General, Los Angeles, would like to provide information on travelling from the US to Thailand during COVID-19, from November1, 2021 onwards, as follows: ******************************************* 1. Thai nationals who are fully vaccinated (i.e. travel at least 14 days after completing required dose(s)), and have a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test result (no more than 72 hours before travel), will be exempted from quarantine BUT will have to stay at one of the SHA+ hotels or Alternative Quarantine hotels (AQ) for 1 night for another RT-PCR test at the hotel. If the test is negative, travelers will be able to travel to other domestic destinations freely.
  17. Maybe some kind of isolated camp with limited recreational activities and social drinking. Or is that plan A?
  18. I don't think there is a way yet. Best bet at present is to keep any paper records (if any) of any jabs received outside of Thailand.
  19. Same as the US. Just did the inbound COE thing from there last month. It's a boring (but beautiful) and safe choice. They're something like 80% fully vaxxed there and it was 'big' news on days when they would have more than 20 new cases.
  20. Not to mention (and feel free to Google this yourself), the founders of XRP have been selling their 'founder's allocations' the whole way faster than Noi and Jim at the gold shop before Paul even gets to the airport.
  21. Naturally. Similar to the cruise industry worldwide. On the plus side, shorter lines, fewer crowds, and nature is recovering everywhere.
  22. Naturally everyone will have to make their own choices as to whether they have what it takes to complete any journey.
  23. I wouldn't say it excludes all people in those categories as you can have children, underlying diseases, be a senior citizen and still be flexible. And yes, of course those who are able to adapt to the current hurdles and challenges of covid travel are going to be in the minority.
  24. Travel now is for those who are flexible and can handle the unexpected. It's like (as I imagine anyway) the old days when your Pan Am flying boat might be grounded for a week because of a passing typhoon. I think Covid just adds spice to the adventure.
  25. Divide by 33, it's not that much money in the 'endorsement' or 'appearance' world.
