  1. Which ones? The official Samsung stores in Bangkok seem to stock most models. The only difference is the languages offered from the factory. Thai and English supported anyway.
  2. I think Colombia could be a nice alternative. I have not reached retirement age yet but I think I will visit S-America and see what they have to offer. Unfortunately I do not speak Spanish but it would be easier to learn than Thai. But it depends on the costs, I do not expect a big pension.
  3. I never understood why people buy phones from Europe when they live in Thailand. I bought all my Samsung phones in Bangkok. Not much difference in price anyway.
  4. I guess it was more fun 15 years ago. If you know you know....
  5. Don't do it. Unless you have money to waste. Been there, done that. When your noisy neighbor starts getting on you nerves you wish you never paid a big sum of money for it. You can instead sign a 12 month rental contract and move out any time. Rent is cheap in Thailand.
  6. Waste of resources, anyone over the age of 18 should be left alone.
  7. I would think most of them are suicides, Pattaya draw people in with mental issues, combined with drugs or booze and it's easy to make the wrong decision.
  8. This is very sad news indeed. I studied in London in the early 80's and his voice was always on Radio 1 in the afternoon. As I was studying business English at the time (I'm Norwegian), I used the radio a lot and his voice was very relaxing. I also remember him from Radio Luxemburg, now that must have been a few years before he joined BBC, I think in the late 70's. Then I rediscovered him many years later through the BBC iPlayer app and his show Steve Wright in the Afternoon on Radio 2. He was the real deal and will be sorely missed by many. RIP.
  9. I guess it will be a tough fight for the top 4 places now, we just need to keep going. I don't care as long as the football continue to be exiting to watch. COYS!
  10. I'm still here! I need some more of that stuff
  11. We still need some luck to stay there, I am just happy we are guaranteed entertaining football this season.
  12. Plenty of good hard working visa agents in Pattaya. Clearly they did not do a good enough research. Key Visa is highly recommended. (RIP Darren )
  13. It was 2004, on Boxing day. I had friends that went missing and they posted pictures of dead bodies on a website owned by the police or government, back then they were open for anyone to look at pictures. I did not know what to expect but I soon discovered it was not possible for me to identify anyone from the terrible state of the bloated bodies. It made me really sick for weeks , unfortunately my Norwegian friends, both father and son died that terrible day.
  14. COD works fine, just open the package before the driver leaves with the money. If it does not match return it.
  15. I have never heard of hotels accepting WU as payment.
  16. Always check the past history of the developer before you choose to buy a pre sale condo, I was lucky with my investment in Jomtien, could move in after 3 years. And sold it with a small profit a few years later.
  17. When I click on my content, nothing happens , I tried refresh several time. This page will not load https://aseannow.com/discover/112/
  18. Very strange story, difficult to confirm it without further details. But sending a 7 year old son out alone in Thailand is not a wise idea, even if it was close to the hotel.
  19. I have never felt unsafe in the big buses in Thailand, but I only travel at daytime. Mostly between Bangkok - Pattaya. But I feel unsafe in the smaller minibuses, too many accidents .
  20. Very rare a young man dies of lung cancer. Was he a heavy smoker in his youth? Did he grow up in the jungle area and was close to the burning? Would be interesting to know what he was exposed to.
