  1. All new cars I have bought had a free service at 1 month or 1000 km.

I have never had a Honda before and the dealer says the first service is 6 months or 10000 km - not 1 month/ 1000km

Is that correct? The book says 10000km or 6 months.

If that's what the book says then go for it. There's no way you can invalidate the warranty by following the book. You can always pop it in for a once over and/or a quick oil change after 1,000km if you want, but I guess you'd have to pay something. I'm not 100% sure on this though. Best ask again.

Went to another Honda Dealer today and spoke to the Engineer Manager - he confirms 1st service is 10,000 or 6 months whichever comes first. They inspect the Air Filter, brakes, suspension and something else -I forget The car has a "maintenance minder" in the computer and warns of an oil change needed by showing "A'' on the instrument panel There is also a 'B" that can come up with a mini menu that shows what needs attention. I hopefully get my manual in English on Thursday so I will understand it.. The computer only reports on the quality of the oil and when it should be changed not how much oil is there. You still have to use the dipstick for that.

When the oil has been changed or other work has been completed the engineer will reset the computer

  2. Mats,it comes with very nice mats, but beware the driver side has 2 good locks that the Car Wash folk can't figure out so the rip the bugger out less U show em..I'm hanging on for the 2 door next year, don't one why I do F/A miles here these days.Just love Honda care I guess.

After reading your post I checked the mat locks. Not there.! Wife phones dealer - answer - it came with locks but we take them out because many Thais do not like them. Wife informs them I will be back on Thursday so you can put them back in.!!!!! If only Honda Japan knew they would have a sense of humor failure. TIT

  3. Out of curiosity I just phoned my insurance broker - quote please for my new car? Breakdown, Dealer repairs, any driver.

    Answers

How much did it cost? - 1.2 million Baht

Insurance will be for 1 Million Baht and cost Baht 21,000 !!!!

But I have not told you the engine size yet and it has a turbo attached

It is only based on amount - the cost will be Baht 21,000laugh.png

  4. Went to a Honda dealer yesterday to order a white RS. I could have it on Saturday they said. Okay fine. But they refused include insurance and registration costs in the price so I went to another Honda dealer. Same there but 1 month delivery time and nothing included except windows tint. What extras did you guys manage to get?

We got Anti Rust, Window Covers, Tint, Metal door sills and a complete wax. Manual in English. Insurance cost was 22,000 Baht..

2000 Baht will be refunded on return of red plates.

Had it a week now and we love it.

  5. Someone on the Motoring Forum yesterday reported he tried to order a new car at the Bangkok Motor Show and was told by 3 different people that from 1 March 2016 a work permit was required.

Perhaps that was to get financing. If there had a been a change in being able to register a vehicle there would of already been topics about it.

He wanted to pay cash. Another TV member on the same forum has been told he can only buy a car in the province he lives in / work permit was issued. Maybe a misunderstanding .

  6. I checked the local Honda dealer and they say the 1.8EL would be 2.39% with a 400k deposit over 4 years which is ok .

Might see what they will charge for the turbo over 4 years .The dealer is phoning every other day so must be wanting to push the sale .

When i looked at Fords a while ago i actually had a sales rep come to my house to discuss finance . I could not believe it as i only said the area i lived in ,they must have asked the locals directions to the farangs house?

    Didnt even let them in!

I know fords are not very popular here but jeez desperate much?

Think I mentioned here or somewhere else, motorshow is doing 2.09% for bookings by 3rd April and delivery by 30th April.

Is that for all models? I booked a Turbo RS from Chonburi and they are advising June.sad.png

  7. Anyone know if the RS Model has folding rear seats? The model on show at dealers certainly do not.

Rust underseal ..3. 4 free waxes in 1 year but 500 Bht to workers each occasiongiggle.gif What about a free plastic protection mat for the boot/trunk - NO! Can you please get number plates within 30 days - cannot- minimum 2 months - I will not buy it then - ''' Manager- Up to you - TIT think I will pass!

You checked the RS model? are you sure as they havent got them in our showroom yet just the 1.8 models?

As for number plates i dont mind driving around with red plates for a few months !

Nobody has the RS yet - I mean I asked about the RS seats - red plates should be no longer than 30 days. Dealers never want to register early - they have to pay tax.
