I think anyone who voted for this and is now leaving CA should be turned back at the state line. Having ruined their state, they try to flee to another state to do it again there.

It seems that is exactly what they have done, added an auto screening. Unfortunately it seems the criteria/data they are referencing is wrong. I got rejected for supposedly having a tourist visa. Your visa category does not comply with the 90-days notification conditions (tourist). I have a current 1 year extension. I get so tired of being on the receiving end of this.

Yes I am aware that there is a view that processed food is a contributor, particularly with bowel cancer, but it is not a clear cut case that if you don't eat processed food you won't get cancer. You might reduce the risk according to statistics. I hadn't eaten processed food for 30 years and grew up on all natural fresh produce. -

I plan to go back to the UK for end of life care but stay here while I am ambulatory. Reasons: I live alone whereas in UK I have some family. Access to painkillers e.g Fentanyl/palliative care expertise. Living costs in UK are higher but here medical care costs are open ended and I don't know how long I would be incapacitated for. In UK there should be a district nurse coming round and oxygen bottles if needed will likely be delivered. I have thought about hiring a live in nurse here, but feel as I am without a strong spouse who can sort things out, i would be better in UK. -

It seems the SPLC are cut from the same cloth. ' [N]othing was more uncomfortable than the racial dynamic that quickly became apparent: a fair number of what was then about a hundred employees were African- American, but almost all of them were administrative and support staff—“the help,” one of my black colleagues said pointedly. The “professional staff”—the lawyers, researchers, educators, public-relations officers, and fund-raisers—were almost exclusively white' https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/years-of-turmoil-and-complaints-led-the-southern-poverty-law-center-to-fire-its-founder-morris-dees/2019/04/05/58717bfc-50fa-11e9-8d28-f5149e5a2fda_story.html https://www.congress.gov/116/meeting/house/109266/documents/HHRG-116-JU00-20190409-SD022.pdf -

Your tortoise tactic again. If someone asks you to defend your position you retreat like a tortoise into its shell and just shout accusations of "MAGA" and Far Right at them from the inside of your shell. How is this a 'typical MAGA comment'? What other things do you think I believe based on the fact that I see the SPLC as a money raising organisation and politically motivated first? There was an article written by somebody who worked there explaining how SPLC was not what it purported to be (and not what you seem to think it is think it is). I am sure there are some people there doing fine work against injustice, but it labels anything it doesn't like as "hate". https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/magazine/wp/2018/11/08/feature/is-the-southern-poverty-law-center-judging-hate-fairly/?utm_term=.50e97a7a3932&itid=lk_inline_manual_77 What it was really about was fundraising and living well off that. https://www.congress.gov/117/meeting/house/114425/documents/HHRG-117-JU08-20220217-SD016.pdf https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/years-of-turmoil-and-complaints-led-the-southern-poverty-law-center-to-fire-its-founder-morris-dees/2019/04/05/58717bfc-50fa-11e9-8d28-f5149e5a2fda_story.html 'The nonprofit apologized in 2015 after calling Ben Carson an extremist. Three years later, it apologized for including the former British politician Maajid Nawaz, a Muslim and a known critic of Islamic extremism, in a publication called “A Journalist’s Manual: Field Guide to Anti-Muslim Extremists,” and agreed to a $3.4 million settlement with Nawaz’s foundation. The organization has also been dogged by questions, including from former employees, about whether it has been focused on fundraising at the expense of work that would further its mission. Explain for everyone everyone on the web board what is proven by my post, and we can let other members decide for themselves, otherwise they might think it just exists in your head, and that surely can't be the case, can it?. P.S. you forgot to rise to the defence of The Southern Poverty Law Center. -

Here is a paragraph from one of your linked articles: 'In a turbulent White House, the 34-year-old has been the driving force behind controversial policies such as family separation, the travel ban on Muslim-majority countries and a rule that would penalize legal immigrants for using public benefits.' There was no travel ban on Muslim majority countries. this is a lie of the Left repeated constantly in the hope of inflaming the Muslim Ummah one assumes. There was a ban on countries regarded as having very high risk of terrorism, many of which were (who would have thought it) Muslim majority countries. Many Muslim majority countries were not included and countries regarded as a risk for terrorism were not included if their authorities were regarded as providing sufficient information on terrorists. Its always an opinion - yours, the Guardian article writers who label anything that counters their views as "conspiracy theories " Yes I agree, there were groups/individuals at Charlotsville who could be classed as White Supremacists. I saw a Swastika flag displayed and I have no suspicion of a false flag operation with that one. My issue is that the term "White Supremacist" is used literally against anyone who opposes the Left on certain issues, rather than when it is correctly applied. I would say of Charlottesville that there were definitely people who were beyond the pale at Charlottesville, but they weren't all on just the one side. Example. The car that ran into the pedestrians. Your beloved Guardian and NYT both showed the strangely edited version of the footage where it showed the car driving at high speed into the crowd but then showed the car after it had already reversed a considerable distance, the start of the reversal having been cut out. The reason it was cut out was because it showed five people in hot pursuit of the car with 3 of them carrying clubs which they must have brought with them to Charlottesville, but this didn't fit the narrative. The fact that the defendant was convicted by "an all white jury" doesn't alter the fact that there were 5 people chasing the car, three of them armed. If I knew why they were chasing the car I might even find myself in approval, but the fact is they were armed with weapons brought with them. My point is with the distortion by NYT and The Guardian, I have no opinion on the correctness or otherwise of the conviction as I have never looked at the details and do not know what evidence was or was not submitted. There, two examples by you and two examples of lying by omission/distortion by me by your treasured sources. I looked for the original video a while back and couldn't find it, but if you look at the NYT/Guardian version you will be able to see that it is weirdly cut. Why do you assume you are getting the truth rather than somebody else's propaganda? If you tell somebody a small truth you can set them up for a huge lie. Just because the Left points out lies of the Right doesn't mean that they are telling the truth. I have only recently heard of Project 2025, it was mentioned in my Twitter feed a few days ago but i don't know the details so I don't know if I support it. You are just projecting a stereotype in your head onto me. If I believe one thing I must believe all things and presumably support Trump, David Duke and presumably some historical figures. You clearly have me "boxed and Labeled". I thought stereotyping was an absolute No No with the Left, as evidenced by their disapproval of supposed racial stereotyping. -

It's always links to biased sources.NYT and Guardian are biased [false] narrative platforms that you seem to think are unimpeachable (you thought the same of the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center). Do you really believe they are not? Tell me what YOU think is a White Supremacist as you are bandying the term about. Also what is a White Nationalist? -

What about people with false stories and fake documents? Back in 2016(?) Austria turned away 2000 "Syrians" at the border in one day who had false Syrian documents. Is lying about your refugee/asylum seeker/persecution to obtain a benefit (and "benefits") acceptable? -

I have been admitted into a govt hospital as an emergency. Before they would see me they required that I register and that required my passport, whether they checked visa status I couldn't see. Two people later came onto the ward ahead of surgery and asked for my passport. They went through it beyond the data page so I assume they were looking at visa status. I checked in on a pre planned follow up surgery and at admission on the ward the ward sister specifically checked my visa status. SPECIFICALLY CHECKED MY VISA STATUS got it? On a subsequent admission on another ward it seemed not to be checked. This is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS to be so pedantic about Visa exempt vs visa or extension in this context. Everyone but you knew what i meant I am sure. Lets have little poll, shall we? Those who thought I was saying you won't be treated at Govt hospital with a visa exempt entry and that you need a visa or extension click the red "love it", those who thought i meant some kind of valid visa/extension/VE/VoA click purple "thanks" You are the moderator with official responsibility for visa (and of course VISA EXEMPT and PERMISSION TO STAY vs USED visa) related threads like UJ was, right? -

I must say, that if banks never check your visa status how is it so difficult to open a bank account with a tourist visa? Valid visa/extension seemingly now required for: Bank branch transactions. Internal flights even non extension business at L desk CW registration as patient/Admission into Govt hospital. Some hotels (I have had to explain my visa status). This seems to be a move to make it more difficult to function here if not here with valid visa/ext. -

'I have never had a bank look for current permission of stay.' The fact that you have never had a bank look for current permission of stay doesn't mean that nobody else has. I HAVE, on multiple occasions. I have once been asked to sign the copy. Other times it appeared they were taking a copy of visa but not asking me to sign. I have seen them just take a photocopy of the data page (SCB) but usually they copy both and I have TWICE seen them check with manager about visa (sorry PERMISSION TO STAY, visa was stamped "used" ) and then photocopy that. SCB and BBL. Basically it seems they are supposed to copy visa but this being Thailand don't always do so. My advice is don't expect to be able to transact at a bank without some kind of current visa/extension. You might get lucky, or they might refuse, or they might press the red button under the desk.
