  1. The government website states that you should not do another PCR test and if you do another PCR test that is positive after initial positive then you are required to self-Isolate again for 10 days. Its a legal requirement. Private or otherwise. It will be on record. It could affect my insurance claim. So I cannot risk that until I legally have to do the test for the flight and I can get the recovery certificate. The recovery certificate I can only get on 28th. So, I have to do my test as late as possible before flying to hope I get negative. T o rebook my flight i have to get the result prior to 48 hour rebooking airline deadline. With Thai pass approved for 27th i can fly until 30th and that is what I now plan. Take a test on 27th. Get the recovery cert on 28th then I can fly regardless of positive or negative. My problem is that my airline (and many others) insist on a negative PCR test. there is no recovery certificate option. Thai airways is the only one so far that states that a recovery certificate can be used. I cannot get any clarification from airline support, chats, query forms etc. the last 2 days. They refer to IATA rules that only have requirement for a "negative PCR" . I have sent the problem to IATA support yesterday. Trust I may get an answer today / tomorrow. I have to go to Manchester airport on 27th for PCR test and will then check with the main airlines check in staff what they accept. Qatar, Emirates, Finnair, Turkish. That's the only way i will know.
  2. I need any help I can get from somebody returned or knows what happened getting back with a recovery certificate. I am in UK visiting family and friends and unfortunately its my turn to find out the effects of getting Covid. Double jabbed and got the booster 12 days ago, but . . . . . . No issue with health thankfully. Bad throat and a bit of a cough for a few days. No other Covid symptoms Self isolation not too much of a problem. Far easier than 14 day Thai quarantine I have done before. The mental stress is far worse trying to figure out what to do to get back using a recovery certificate. Endlessly calling help lines, support chats etc and getting no help or clarification. Circular loops in websites drive you crazy. NHS do not provide any such certificate. I agree with this, but they could at least inform people on the websites that you have to go to a private provider. Costs between 100 and 150 GBP. Got my new Thai pass , but getting a flight that will allow me to board is not so easy. Stepped up the pressure today for how to fly with formal assistance requests to airline and IATA. I tried some searches on the forum for “recovery certificate” and have found nothing. Two questions 1. Which airlines allowed travel? My airline booked is saying that I must have a negative PCR test and referring to IATA requirements that are not complete and effectively false information. I can see that Thai Airways accept a recovery certificate. Are there any others that people have used? 2. What happens when you land in Bangkok, you have the certificate and get tested positive? Do they allow you to go, or are there special quarantine period or repeat test requirement? FYI, the rules for entry (both sandbox and Test & Go) include the allowance for previously infected people to enter with a PCR test positive provided they have the certificate of recovery. It can take a long time before some people who have been infected may test negative again. I trust that I will not be the first to face this issue and would appreciate any info from others.
  3. Heads up to inform that my application for Thailand pass made on Monday morning 20th was approved. Received today 23rd December. Following the suspension of the system, this should help to confirm that existing applications are being processed,
  4. Its not just travel agents. Hotels are booked through some of the biggest websites. Whether notified or not, Agoda have recently sent to me the advisory below FYI. Good to see they are on the ball. I have a return to Thailand booked with hotel, and wait to see what the clowns next act is. From Agoda Dear valued customer, Hope you are excited about traveling to Thailand! As you prepare for your trip, we wanted to share some recent updates made by the Thai government regarding entry to Thailand. On 21 December 2021, the Department of Consular Affairs/Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Thailand Pass registration for Test & Go and all Sandbox programs (except for Phuket Sandbox) would be suspended from the following day. If you registered for your Thailand Pass QR code before 22 December 2021 and are approved, you will be allowed entry into Thailand through the program for which you applied. However, new health control measures will be introduced. You can get the latest updates on these changes from the Tourism Authority of Thailand ( https://www.tatnews.org/). If you were unable to register for your Thailand Pass QR code or if your application is rejected, you will need to contact Agoda’s customer support team to rebook your stay in compliance with the latest regulations: Travelers to all destinations in Thailand except Phuket will require a pre-paid Alternative Quarantine booking for 7, 10, or 14 nights (8, 11, or 15 nights if arriving between 6:01PM and 12:00AM) depending on your vaccination status and country of departure Fully vaccinated travelers to Phuket who plan to visit other destinations in Thailand will require an SHA Extra+ booking for at least 7 nights (8 nights if arriving between 6:01PM and 12:00AM) Our agents are standing by via phone or email to help assist you in navigating these sudden changes. Kindly reach out to us as soon as possible to ensure you have the appropriate booking required to enter Thailand. Note: Please be aware that due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, rules and regulations regarding entry to Thailand are often being reviewed or amended to adapt to the changing circumstances. These changes go into effect immediately once published in Thailand’s Royal Gazette. Have a great trip, and thanks for letting Agoda serve your best journeys! Best regards, Agoda Customer Experience Group
  5. I have had problems in the past and apart from exercise you need to look at your diet, and what vitamins can help. See what advice you can find. I suggest you try adding daily folic acid two x 5mg and B1, 6, 12.
  6. Can you check again please Joe, all the articles i have read state that no more applications after 21 st, and existing applications will be ok.
  7. Why only Phuket sandbox? Must be something important about it. Reluctant to cut all the income streams at once?
  8. The data does look extremely bad, especially UK. But people are not generally wearing masks. They don't have to. Supposed to on public transport, but many do not. Its not surprising this is spreading so quickly.
  9. NO doubt there will have been a mad rush to get TP applications in now since the news. ???????????? only probably another hour to get an application in, Or will it be midnight?
  10. Thanks Sheryl, I understand that local policies will follow whatever is stated. As i said earlier, i have a full international cover that has its own certificate and separate cover summary etc. but they want just one page jpg. I have no idea why, surely it makes no difference. They accepted what I did combining images with as few pages as possible, (five) and did not query why some page numbers are missing. So it appears they are being practical. More frustrating and time consuming than insurance they did not list my SHQ plus+, even though it is in their list that can be viewed. So you don't know what to put. That lost over a day communicating with the hotel and others finding out what to do. The point I made originally is that all the requirements are not as simple/easy and short an exercise as somebody stated. I did not have as much problem with COE earlier this year. The requirements then seemed staightforward following what i had expected I advise that people go through the Thailand pass process first on a draft basis to check how to fill it in and what is required. The should allow at least another day or potentially two to get it completed.
  11. You may be right but we do not know, and i consider it silly that they state "photo". As i pointed out in another post. More formal documents are getting security measures built in that may omit parts of the information or more commonly cover items with an extra images that help identify it is photocopied and not a photo. There are good reasons for this. I am not familiar with the precise items on a passport that will show different when scanned, but they must be there because i had identity checks in the UK where the scanned jpg were rejected until I actually took a photo. In one case (uk post office registration), i could not get photos to work and had to use my mobile to contact with the chip in the passport. People should be aware that its not now so simple to think that a scan or a photocopy of formal documents will get precisely the same image.
  12. Is that all. So its that easy for everybody and wont take much time at all?? Perhaps you can also help by saying what is required on the certificate to assist others go chase insurance companies and see where they get making new certificates. How many companies do you think will change the standard certificates they use globally. How long is it going to take and will you get it? The point made originally, that is being distorted into other issues, is that these things are not just 5 or 10 minutes when you try to do the application. I got my application approved first time. Done and over. With some of the comments here, i can see that there is no point posting to help people know the potential problems when they try to do the application. FYI, the insurance requirements are on three separate documents with AXA international. So making one jpg file is nuts. You have to put many pages in one jpg file. Then the authorities have to figure out what is in it. It doesn't print readily. Is has to be much easier to have the pages in a pdf. They can then view and print the document readily.
  13. They want one jpg file. I have 3 pdf files of 5 pages from my imsurance to cover what they want. Why is it easier in jpg?
  14. A scanned document is not accepted as a photo in UK. I have had the issue at least three times. If its so easy then please explain how the authorities identified it. Passports and certificates do not always show everything the same when copied or scanned. I believe that security against copying documents like these has developed and been implemented for at least several years, and its very important. If the thai authorities state "photo" for the pass, and you dont comply, if it gets rejected does that not cause far more problem than taking the extra effort to take the photo in the first place.
  15. Surely we would expect the IT people putting the system together to understand how documents are created and distributed. To ask for jpg of insurance documents is nuts. Its potentially falsifying the original doc that now you get internationally by pdf. People do not only have just the <deleted> local insurance, to cover requirements here for entry. Also, if they know how to list all of the SHA plus + hotels there are and acceptable, then why do they have no sense to list them for use on the application. The users often do not create the problems. They may not understand requirements that are not clear. Thats not an IT problem.
  16. Whilst that may help. Shadows cause a problem unless you can do it outside in daylight. Flash is worse. There are too many reflective parts on the uk passport. I find if indoors i have to turn on and off lights to find the appropriate location and position. That is more than a few minutes. I have had issue at least three times before with various requirements for countries requiring photo and it has not been easy. One time i could not get anything good enough despite it looking good to me and had to eventually scan the chip on line to get acceptance. I think outside in daylight would be the best but thats not always possible. However in relation to my post and the thailand pass. The point is that most people have scanned copies, and not submitting a photo can get rejection. For a lot of people this means they have to take a photo and it is not as easy as it may seem to get a clear image with no reflection. It took me only several minutes this time because i have had to do it before.
  17. Unfortuntely for passport that is not true. It states they need a photo. A scanned docment is not a photo. Been there and had that problem before rejected.
  18. What you say is not that easy or simple. I have just done it recently and people need to understand that it takes time and effort. You cannot do it all the first time, as you have to figure out what is required and how. Allow 30 minutes to go through it first to figure out. Then compile the docs that may take more time time than what you prepared. Then allow up to an hour to get it completed. You cannot save partially. What insurance company sends you documents in jpg.? and also gets it changed with so little effort? My insurance policy is a proper full insurance with 5 pages. Not some one page thai policy worth next to nothing. My global insurance company are not going to change it to one page so i trust it will not get rejected. The SHA plus+ hotels are not all on the list you can choose, even though they are listed on the link. It took half a day to communicate from abroad to figure out what to do. I was lucky it did not take a lot longer. It says you have to use a photo of passport. Ie not scanned. Its a lot of effort getting a photo of passport without reflections. It does not ask for visa or return flight ticket. No consideration of people who have gone out for a week or two and are returning. If you state "returning to thailand" there is no section to clarify. Its not been put together well. Been used enough by now for them to have done something to improve it. Sadly TIT.
  19. There is a bit more to it as they published the actual rules. I travelled back on 8th PCR test in thailand not more than 2 days before departure ( the 72 hours is not the criteria) On arrival in uk you must prebook and take the PCR test within 2 days. You can do the PCR test the day you land. I did it the day after. They want to see the passenger locator form at check in, and at transit cities. it was not like that earlier. Make sure you have the paperwork with you and easy to see. PCR test passed before departure. Full Vaccination certificate / proof. PCR test on UK arrival booked. Passenger Locator form.
