Chuan explains why he voted against Srettha for PM

To quote Groucho Marx. "Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others." A bit like Chuan Leekpai (except that Groucho was much much funnier). -
I welcome the enquiry as well. I am old enough to know the difference between President Biden and his son. If, yet again the investigating find no evidence, will they all resign from the senate, and the GOP, and fall on their swords? Or as usual, will they scrabble around desperately looking for something/anything else to whine and complain about. What they have to do is find real evidence and proof that will stand up in court. it seems to me that they are like a bunch of spiteful children shouting that 'cos you lot got our guy legally, we are gonna get your guy any way we can'. Nyah Nyah Nyah. These are supposedly intelligent and well paidpeople, but they don't, can't or won't see the damage that they are doing to the USA or the GOP. IMHO they need their bottoms smacked, wear dunces caps and stood in the naughty corner like the innature children that they are.

Did you appreciate living in the 70s, 80s and 90s?

And I/we managed to do all that without any artificial stimulants. I ate and enjoyed the food in the many macan stalls, at Fatty's in Albert Street, now Albert Plaza, Bobby's beef stew with chillies, pirate taxis. -

I never listened to the radio very much over there. I spent most of my free time in the NAAFI or the Malcom club on camp depending on which still had duty free beer, the darts club behind the NAAFI, at one of the bars in the village, around Bugis Street in downtown Singapore, the Britannia Club opposite Raffles playing slot cars or sleeping. I was also in the yacht club at Seletar and the RAF gliding club at the RM helicopter base at Sembawang. I drank and ate too much in keeping with servicemen traditions when posted abroad but I had a great time. -
Trump asks judge in federal elections case to step aside

Hurrah, the world is safe because you don't believe the members of all the grand juries and special juries in many counties and states of the USA. No matter that they have sat through hour and days of testimonies, (which you obviously have not). Because you don't don't believe it, then it isn't true. I am sure that all of those people will be glad to admit that they were wrong. -
Trump asks judge in federal elections case to step aside

Funny how the Trumpists and the MAGAtrons want to forget about the 91 charges against Trump. The charges that were brought by those ordinary US citizens who sat on various grand juries and special grand juries. Of course if you believe them (and you are perfectly welcome to do that), Trump is perfect, whiter than snow and has never done a thing wrong in his life. Meanwhile in the real world the people Trump has cheated, lied to, lied about, stolen from, bankrupted, assaulted, had their p(deleted)y grabbed may well disagree with you. -
Trump asks judge in federal elections case to step aside

But you seem to believe that Trump can say, print or post anything he wants in any media without ANY comeback. And if the judge does not recuse herself, which in my opinion she should not ever consider doing, then what? Bear in mind that the judge does NOT find the accused innocent or guilty only imposes sentence, and that within strict guidelines. -

Thai government plans central budget use for farmers’ debt relief

A lot depends on the type of ground, the availability of water for irrigation, the type of produce that you think that they can can sell, the costs of seeds, fertiliser, if you can guarantee that they will make more money than they do now, how much it will cost to buy new equipment, how much they will lose IF they can sell the old stuff, how deep they are in debt already. It isn't that simple. -

Yes, I had a great time in the 1960s in the RAF. In the early part going on a pub crawl of 13 pints in Hampshire on a Friday night, then a year in Bahrain which wasn't that bad. 16 months further training near Wolverhampton, 2 1/2 years based in Norfolk with jollies to Norway, Libya, Germany and Gibraltar plus Sardinia. From mid 1968 to the end of 1971. Jollies to Malaysia Hong Kong, Penang, Butterworth plus the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia. Going to the beach in Johore Bahru. I had a great life that if I had stayed in the UK I never would have known. -

I was in the RAF in the 1960s to the early 1980s and whilst there was 'supposedly' free love it never got as far as Norfolk though it did work, to some extent on the odd base and intermittently in Singapore though not in Bahrain. Music in the 1960s to the early 90s was much better apart from punk and grunge music. -

He should have thought about that before throwing HIS allegations around so freely. He condemns himself every time he opens his mouth.- 101 replies

Then EVERY senior military officer still alive and involved in military coups going as far back as possible, should be charged with treason against the King and the state. In Thailand the penalty for treason is death. So in your obvious bias against Thaksin. you should also apply equal justice against the military for their illegal military coups. Their is no point in applying 'justice' under the military control unless you apply iy equally. That is NOT 'justice'.

Not an optimist but a realist. He introduced the 30 baht hospital fee for starters. He was also the first civilian PM to complete a full 4 year term after being elected in a free and fair election. He then stood for election again and was re-elected with an overall majority. He was removed by yet another military coup. Have you noticed that the military NEVER stand for election but simply forment yet another coup. If you are going to comment try doing some research on the subject before making stupid comments.

I don't think that Thaksin is more than a corrupt conman. What I do think is that he was far less corrupt than any military coup government. The amount of hypocrisy that I have seen about him on this thread, other threads and other forums, compared to EVERY military coup government who walked away free and clear with not even a smack on the wrist, is one reason that I support him. Another reason is that he stood for election, as did Yingluck and was found guilty, as was Yingluck under a court of the military. At least Thaksin and Yingluck tried, and actually succeeded in doing something for the poor people of Thailand, something that I cannot remember any other government that I have seen in Thailand doing in the 30 years since I first came to work in Thailand in 1993. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
