  1. One of the problems that is rarely thought about is that by attracting more tourists, more water is used (and has to be disposed of) plus more trash piles up to be disposed of. Tourist business operators don't seem to plan for that and AFAICS neither does the local authority. They are too busy chasing cash and profits to consider forward thinking.
  2. I had a calibrated hammer.
  3. Not only ignoring the toll fee 260 times, but using fake number plates. YOU are one that repeatedly says the law must be obeyed, or do you simply ignore the law for rich people. You cannot have it both ways, Either enforce the law or scrap it. 260 times 10,000 equals 2,600,000 baht she has stolen from the tollway system, and she has done it deliberately using fake plates. How much is the fine for that, 260 times? As you rtepeatedly claim, the law is the law.
  4. Me neither. As a farang I cannot get credit even though I am the one bringing the money in, I can get a credit card, but it means depositing the amount of money I want as a credit card into a separate bank account and paying the credit card through that account. OTOH my wife being Thai can get credit.
  5. I will become a problem for them. At my age of 79 with a problem walking, my wife does all the shopping and she doesn't go to bar visits, girls, drinks, condoms, casino, massage, motorbike rental etc, though she does pay cash for lottery tickets. She mainly shops in the village markets and shops and also the 7/11.
  6. Possibly. Most of the guys I worked with in the 1990s and 2000s who married Thai ladies are still married to them. Some live back in their homeland, some like me live in Thailand, some are still working and their wives are still with them in third countries. Most have children that live with them, some have businesses of their own as well as family.
  7. BS. You saved nothing and wasted a post. I have been married to my Thai wife for 23 years, and I knew her for 7 years before that. Our 18 year old son has just started at Chiang Rai university. Not ALL Thai women are the same.
  8. And what about his 4 year old son?
  9. But Phuket is only a very small part of Thailand.
  10. And there are millions of us.
  11. What more proof do you need? Now you see the problem. President Biden and his son BOTH deny what happened and there was nobody else present, yet you and many others will not accept they are telling the truth. To go slightly off topic, I and many others here on ANN have a similar problem with ex-president Trump. The major difference, is that Trump is a proven liar, whereas President Biden is not.
  12. He could even be telling the truth, and a few members here on ANN wouldn't believe him. More whataboutery. Proof is necessary for a successful prosecution. Do you have any?
  13. Obviously a city dweller. In rural Kamphaeng Phet, 6 km from where I live, there is KBank with 3 ATM, a 7/11 with 1 ATM and a gold shop with 1 ATM. If I go to the amphur village, there is the GSB bank with 3 ATM, a BAAC bank with 2 ATM, the 7/11 has 2 ATM. 2 km up the road at a PTT gas station there is a 7/11 with 2 ATM. It all depends on whether you live in the city, urban or rural.
  14. The rumours will never stop until either the MFP or the PTP win an overall majority and that hasn't happened since 2004/2005 in Thaksin's second term.
  15. PLEASE stop using the word WE. You speak for yourself only, and NOT for everybody else in the world. You certainly do NOT speak for me. Your other problem is, as usual, you cannot produce ANY proof of anything. quote from your post "Hunter Biden texted his Chinese business partners demanding $10 million, warning them 'I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father' – as a photo of the First Son saved on his laptop shows he was at Joe Biden's home that day." What is that proof of? It is easy to change the time/date group of any post, photo or email and proves exactly nothing, especially as the laptop "disappeared' for a year. Photos can be 'photoshopped' even on your own mobile/tablet/pc by anybody, and if they are good enough there will be no trace left behind. As many posters, including me, constantly ask you, WHERE is your proof that can be taken to a court and successfully prosecuted?
  16. Firstly, you actually seem to have no idea where you were on a particular day some 6 years ago. Secondly you use that elastic word IF. But you were NOT there, and the 2 people that YOU allege were there deny it. So whose word should we take? Yours or theirs? Of course you need qualifications. If I were to say that I believe that you are crazy, who would believe me. OTOH if I were to say that in my qualified opinion (stating my qualifications), and that I had personally examined you, that would carry far more weight and be believed more readily. I merely used you as a example.
  17. Really? And you medical qualifications are what exactly? They must be really good if you can diagnose dementia from thousands of km away without actually examining the patient.
  18. AFAIR the caretaker cabinet CANNOT approve ANY expenditure committing the next government to pay for it. If Pattaya want to go ahead, then pay for it themselves and DON'T use ANY government funds. It will do NOTHING for the rest of Thailand.
  19. I remember where I was in 1963 when Kennedy was assassinated because I was in the RAF in Bahrain and I have a record. When I left the RAF and I was working for Motorola from 1988 until 1999 I know which countries I was in during which year, but where I was in any particular country on any particular day I have no idea. I threw all those records away years ago.
  20. Can you remember where you were on every single day 6 years ago?
  21. A very badly written report which completely omits how much was brought into the accounts and where the surplus went to> Republic, which campaigns for an elected head of state, called on William to report his income and expenditure in full, and for his Duchy income to be given to local communities across the country instead. Who really cares what they think? They certainly do NOT speak for me, or possibly millions of other UK citizens IMHO. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_(pressure_group) In 2016, it had over 5,000 paying members and about 35,000 online supporters.[9][7]. Wow, so many people. All they need to do is to organise a referendum, AND accept the result. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/66018052 Prince William is launching a project to help tackle homelessness in the UK. The five-year plan, called Homewards, will see six towns and cities work together with local organisations to help find places to live for homeless people. Each night around 300,000 people in the UK are homelessness, half of whom are children. "It's a big task" said Prince William "but I firmly believe that by working together it is possible to make homelessness rare, brief, and unrepeated and I am very much looking forward to working with our six locations to make our ambition a reality." What is the Republic group doing to help? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7712678.stm Prince William has met young homeless people who were spared life on the streets by a charity both he and his mother have worked with. He chatted and joked at a drinks reception with 10 young people helped by homeless charity Centrepoint. It works with people in the 16 to 25 age group, providing them with accommodation and other support. Princess Diana was the charity's patron at the time of her death, and Prince William has since assumed the mantle. What is the Republic group doing to help? Those who can, do or at least try to do. Those others don't even try, but talk a lot without knowing what they are on about. Nothing like a good bit of bias by the BBC.
  22. And where will the money come from? If that is the cost of the equipment alone, what is the cost of electrification? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Railway_of_Thailand#:~:text=As of 2021 the SRT,to nearly 190 billion baht.
  23. But but Russia will claim that it was a legitimate military target, even if the nearest Ukrainian soldier was 2 km away.
  24. As far as I could read nobody died.
  25. Electricity is a very sneaky and a silent killer, not only in Thailand but world wide. The two ladies who pulled their friend clear are certainly braver than I am. I would have taken the piece of wood I saw earlier and ripped the power cable apart, before I tried to rescue my friend.
