billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News

At least you have a good idea what you are talking about. My son did that in his last 3 years at high school. It was his choice and a good choice as well -

Have you ever been in the military, even as a conscript? -
Why would President Biden need to answer very carefully? Firstly DeSantis has to be nominated by the GOP to become the presidential candidate. Secondly he has to win enough states and votes to beat Trump. Thirdly IF he gets that far he then has to win against President Biden, the Electoral College and the voters in the USA.

quote "What's wrong with a special interest group voicing their opinions to legislators?" Voicing their opinion is NOT the same as warning potential legislators NOT to interfere. The law is vague and ill defined and should NOT be accepted as it is. You may want it to happen, but there are a lot of Thai voters that don't want it to happen, and they have more sway than you. Cannabis has always been available in Thailand, even since before the Vietnam war and the US R&R in Pattaya. I have no problem with Cannabis being used medically as that is allowed under the existing law, smoking it recreationally is a very vague part of the law.

TBH I have no idea. Generally the most I transfer at one time is 35,000 baht. I have read that sometimes if the amount is over 50k from Wise UK there may be a problem. A way around that would be split it into less than 50k amounts and do more transfers. It may cost more but it could be an easier way to send the money.

Malaysia detains Chinese ship suspected of looting British WW2 wrecks
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Now scuttle the Chinese ship, but nowhere near HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse. -
Oh Boo Hoo Hoo. It seems as though Russia is quite happy to use missile attacks at Kviv every night but gets upset and cries when Moscow gets its turn. If Putin had not started this war there would be no problem. I, for one, have no sympathy for Moscow or the Russian people. It is their problem to solve.

As a coincidence I wanted to change a light switch in my work area which is powered from the small house. I got my wife to turn off the SAFE-T-CUT while I changed the switch. It was still live and I had the wrong switch anyway. I abandoned the job and she turned the power on but nothing happened. No power to the small house at all. She called out the guy that does the jobs I can't do any more and the fault was in the main breaker in the main circuit box which has been there some 19 years. She gave him some money to get another and I had a vague memory of another box from long ago that I part cannibalised. Luckily the main switch was still there so we used that, which worked. I still have no idea why the switch was live though.

Thailand's Election Commission Probes Pitha's ITV Shares
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Holding shares in trust and owning the same shares is completely different. -
AFAIR the Cannabis Future Network is NOT a political party, didi not stand for election, has no voter base and is warning the possible next government not to interfere in THEIR business. I think that that they are abusing their own product. I suspect that they mean do not stand in the way of our greed to make bigger profits from a badly drawn up law,

Why dispute over House speaker could decide Thailand’s political future
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
IMHO the easiest solution would be for neither to get the post but pass it to the next coalition party. As a simple alternative MFP and PTP take 2 year turns, and the toss of a coin decides who goes first. Are either of those options too much like common sense? -
I use a SAFE-T-CUT from the incoming power and that feeds the main breaker box. By using the SAFE-T-CUT I can disconnect its output before the main circuit breaker box. I also know that no showers, a/c etc is connected to the main PEA input, as I can physically see it. When I kill that I know the whole house is dead, electrically speaking, and I do have a small multimeter that cost about 1,000 thb, and proved it. Electricity is unseen, sneaky, usually silent and can kill you if it bites you.
