After multiple issues with both Canon and HP printers, I bought a Brother DCP-T520W Tank fill - all in one - print and scan. Had it 10 months now and its had lots of use, and no issues so far. Banana IT about 5,400 Baht …. think it would be more than sufficient for your usage, and very good quality printing.

My Brother DCP-T520W Tank fill - all in one - print and scan is about 7 months old and works fine plugged into my pc or on a wireless link.

It is probably the 4th Brother I have bought in over 10 years and I see no reason to change brands. Normally when the black ink runs out after 3 years or so, it is time to replace the printer with a newer model with more bells and whistles.

I don't need the fax facility as faxes are being replaced and I might have to send 1 fax in a year.

5 baht a page (color is more) at the local Kodak shop. And when you get to know the owner you can email him the docs to print. So your 200 pages per year costs 1000 baht. No cartridge issues, no paper issues, no space issues on your desk.

I surely don't understand why anyone needs a printer at their house.

Which is fine IF you live closer to a Kodak shop, IF they will print with the photos stuck on, IF the shop has the Immigration paperwork required, If they are willing to print the 37 sheets, twice, as required by Immigration, IF they will replace any faulty sheets that are wrong at their own expense.

Then of course all the information you provide is in somebody else's hands and you have no control over it.

     Wrong post. Sorry

That is before I type up and print copies of recipes, print a few copies of my passport, all 14 pages, print a few copies of my wife's, my sons, and my neighbours ID cards.

The real question, at least to me, is why doesn't everybody have a home printer, They are not too expensive and printer paper is cheap enough at 100 thb (the last pack I bought) for 500 sheets.

Again - he was nto talking about electrical grounding.

OP was looking for a stick to aid in walking in soft ground. A wooden stick was suggested as preferrable to metal in that instance since it will be able to sink a bit into the ground.

Any single footed walking stick will sink into soft ground. Two, three or four footed sticks will sink less  as the same weight is distributed over a larger area

A single large foot of say, 10 cm/sq, is better than three feet that have say 2 cm/sq giving a total area of 6 cm/sq.

  4. 1 hour ago, Sheryl said:

I don't think he meant electrical grounding but rather giving you stability. Walking on soft dirt surfaces (which seemed to be the OP's issue), a wooden stick will sink in slightly and help give you purchase.

    Thank you Sheryl

    Now I understand.

Time to repeat 1789, indeed.... They are right it is not normal for a fugitive who should be in jail to get treated as celebrity..while the common people suffer in prisons, he is relaxing in the hospital so called ill and maybe not even there...as no one is allowed to visit him

Is it equally right and fair that he was deposed in a military coup, and tried in a court overseen by the military?

    Hmm.

Any false claims in your post?  What about military purposely fighting civilians, is that accurate?  ... Is the military really fighting the civilians right to exist? Maybe you mean the terrorists right to terrorize. ... Maybe there are some human shields?

    How many Palestinians are terrorists. 1%, 5%, 10%, 50%, 100%?

No, I meant what I said, which was "Anyone that does not support the eradication of Hamas, wants it to happen again."

Do you support the eradication of Hamas? If not, I assume you want Hamas to continue committing atrocities like the one they committed on 10/7, correct?

    Completely incorrect as usual.

Please don't assume that you know me or my feelings because unless you know me personally, and you don't, you only assume, which make the ass of you and not me.

If I had my way both Hamas and the IDF would be charged with manslaughter, murder and genocide.

However ALL Palestinians are not members of Hamas or supporters of the Hamas leadership, in exactly the same way that not ALL Israelis are members of the IDF or supporters of Netanyahu or his Likud "war" cabinet.

BTW the term war cabinet came from Netanyahu himself.

Look for wooden sticks they can ground you when not on concrete or roads worked wonders with my dad's circulation in his lower legs and feet.

    That is confusing to me.

Wood is an insulator when used with electricity. Metal is a conductor of electricity.

That is why if someone is connected to a live cable you use wood to free them and never metal. If you use a metal pole to move them away from the live cable it will bite you too.

Because of disability problems been using a walking stick for over 24 years..

If you need one remember if you have a normal stick/cane = you have only 1 hand as the other is holding the stick/cane = nothing but a pain forever falling on the floor

About 6 years ago bought this one https://www.lazada.co.th/products/3-hospro-walking-stick-4-h-ws9321-i2275909994.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.55.4b0027e1d0MTVW

it is perfect for my needs, can let go and it stands there

I do have a older one with has 3 feet but far to wide so never use other than on bad days in the garden,  have a very old walking frame came from the Hospital, never use, as the above 4 feet smaller type suits my needs fine.

There are many different types look to see what is best for you...   normal folding stick with wrist belt ?  normal folding stick with large base ?

     https://www.lazada.co.th/products/1-adjustable-fold-walking-stick-i150215468.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.23.4da750bdKvOCE6   or

     https://www.lazada.co.th/products/folding-walking-cane-with-led-i322882603.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.21.4da750bdKvOCE6

just some ideas there are so many

I have one similar to the third one on your list from Lazada except that it only has 3 feet. It does stand on its own and Thais have a quiet smile when I talk to it, and tell it to stay or, walkies as I would to a dog if I had one.

The led light self destructed itself a while ago and the bits went everywhere and I never found the end cap, not that it matters as I don't often go out in the dark.

My walking stick cost 673.23 thb from Lazada

You compare months of continual bombing during the Gaza invasion with Iraq from 2004 - 2010.

    1) You don't include the Iraq invasion! ,which was March 2003! You only quote 2004- 2010.

    2) The Iraq invasion and occupation was from 2003 to 2010.

    2) The main combat period in Iraq took only 26 days before Iraq fell (in 2003)

    3) Multiple counties participated in the invasion, you count US dropped weapons.

    4) The Iraq invasion was the worlds biggest ever tank battle, tanks don't drop bombs.

    5) and [Wiki] during the 30 day invasion the US and UK dropped 29,199 bombs. [official ref]

    6) More than twice the rate you quote for Gaza.

    So question, who is misleading?

The paywalled WSJ article and you were unaware, or your quoting?

How many civilians were killed by the allied forces during the Iraq war? Were the civilian areas deliberately targeted, schools, hospitals, infrastructure. Were the Iraqi civilian deliberately denied water, fuel, food and medicines?

Iraq and the Gaza are 2 completely disconnected wars.

In Iraq the war was military against military.

In Gaza since October, the West bank now and the Lebanon now, it is military against civilians who are defending their rights to exist.

This is one link to the original CCTV, showing time and date stamp.

This is the CCTV footage from the airport itself, that has been used by every news source.

The video I posted above is a zoomed version.

I have looked at the first CCTV that you posted (about 4 seconds long) and I think that it shows the JAL flight landing on top of the Coastguard aircraft. At least that is the way can see and understand it. If I am correct, then the Coastguard aircraft was actually on runway 34R preparing to take off.

But it should not have been there at all, as according to the Narita ATC recordings it was only given permission to go to the C5 holding point to stop and wait, and NOT onto the live runway where the JAL flight  was landing.

I’m getting to the stage where getting out and about is very difficult, not a disability problem but a breathing one, some days I can walk a hundred yards before needing a rest and others ten steps sees me struggling. Slopes and steps are now my mortal enemy, I do have a wheelchair but there are many instances where a wheelchair is unable to be used such as today when visiting a newly opened floral park. Very uneven and soft ground simply not suitable but perhaps a walking stick might be of benefit. Any stick users offer any advice?

Can I suggest that you look up and download these breathing exercises from the UK NHS. They certainly worked well for me.

There are also NHS exercises for the elderly which can also be found on the internet. I have been using them since August 2023 after my second blackout the month before.

I use a walking stick that I bought through Lazada. I am now fitter than I have been for a few years. Around home and my neighbours I usually walk without the stick. Outside I take the stick. I can go up and down steps using a 1 2 3 method, where 1 is the stick on the next step up or down, and 2 3 which is normally left foot then right foot. I have a balance problem and the exercises for the elderly help me a lot.

Steps I can manage, escalators and travellators are OK, slopes going up are not a big problem, but coming down I often use my wife's shoulder to balance on.

I also have a folding Zimmer frame with a seat that has a rated load of 200kg. I am nothing like that weight but I am happy to pay the little extra for it.

If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to ask on this thread, as even if the information is no use to you, it may help somebody else.

  13. All the other reports that I have read clearly say the the coastguard aircraft was on the ground, which even the ATC recordings say it was.

Where that CCTV tape came from I have no idea. Do you have a link for it?

All it seems to show is some Japanese aircraft at an airport. there does not appear to be any time/date grouping on the video, and IMHO, without that the video is suspect.

The collision happened at around 17:47 JST Japan Standard Time which is UTC + 09:00 hours. I have no idea if it was daylight, dusk or night time then, but the video seems to show that it is very dark.

I bet she doesn't even know how to do it.

Most under-30s cannot even boil water.

    So what is the problem?

I have been ironing my own clothes and uniforms since I was 15.

I can do my own laundry, cook for myself, clean the house etc.

I say good for the wife. She works 4 days a week and I don't suppose that her mother in law would turn down any money offered.

    The MIL IS the problem.

I used to scrub the dirt off my sons white school shirts and socks shirts after their overnight soaking, pit the laundry in the machine then take him and the neighbours daughter to school. My wife got up later and did the household chores, cooking, gardening etc.

A reasonable sharing of the work load.

I got one of those 4 outlet USB hubs you can put into one USB port and feed several different USB things like mem sticks, mouse etc

I guess they were designed for data sharing rather than charging.

I only have one USB port / charger in the car and wondering if I would be able to use this safely  to charge a couple of phones at once

and maybe dash cam? Its a fairly decent brand I think (Hoco)

I think that the quickest and easiest way to find out would be to take your existing one from where it is, plug it into the car USB along with a couple of phones and try it out. I have a couple and one I use on the pc BUT only 1 output is USB 3 standard and the other outputs are USB 2 standards. Yours should be OK for charging mobile phones, but using on the pc USB runs slower than USB 3.

According to NHK it seems that the pilot of the coastguard is saying he was given clearance to take-off, even if the ATC recording we have suggest he was only given clearance to wait on a taxiway just before the runway. I wonder if the Coastguard have their own ATC radio channel that might explain the discrepancies?

Why are you quoting the BBC on a topic that pertains to Asia? Try to find a more accurate Asian source, ideally from the country that is discussed, when discussing topics in Asia.

How about because it is a world news topic and not exclusive to Asia? The BBC and other INTERNATIONAL news sites cover events occurring worldwide.

Are you suggesting that ONLY news reports from the countries concerned be allowed to post news from their own countries, and in their own language only?
