billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News

How about the Palestinians right to survive as a people? They also have the same human rights as Israelis, or can't you accept that? -

Austrian Man Detained for Overstaying Visa by 920 Days
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
But he didn't sail under the radar. quote from the OP. "The investigation was initiated based on local residents' tips about the harmful and destructive behavior of an alien, identified as Mr Harald. The suspect, who is suspected of being mentally unstable and a threat to society, did not have a fixed address and frequently stayed in hotels." I wonder, if he had not caused any commotion, and was not reported to the Immigration Police, would they have even bothered looking for him. -

Did you not check the visa yourself, before you left the office that issued it? -
Thaksin's Unofficial Involvement in Myanmar Conflict Questioned

Why not send him an email and ask him? I don't think he would have confided to anybody on AN, so nobody here would know. -

Thai Toddler Murdered: Drug Addict Throws Child into Pond
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
But you seem to think that it is OK to drown a 1 year old child. If it were my son and he was tied up I would have thrown the offender in until he drowned. -
I have that same strip on my pc and I only use Chrome as a browser. I don't bother try to use my mobile to read AN. I also use an Ad blocker to block ads on every site that I use. Now, but only when I am on AN, I get a 90% pop up screen from AN asking me to disable my Ad blocker, but only for AN. as they need Ad subscriptions to pay for the site. I simply click on the little cross and it disappears. I have nothing against that, but the reason for an Ad blocker is to block ALL ads on EVERY site.

Thaksin's Unofficial Involvement in Myanmar Conflict Questioned
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The headline reads Thaksin's Unofficial Involvement in Myanmar Conflict Questioned If it is unofficial, why is there a hoo haa about it? Is Thaksin not allowed to talk to anybody he wishes to? It is not exactly as though Thailand and ASEAN have achieved anything positive in their talks with the Myanmar junta generals over the decades. -
Why should the government give them compensation? Did the government order shops to be opened to sell weed. IMO they opened because they thought it would be an easy way to make money. If any compensation is paid, then Anutin and the BJT party should personally pay it themselves, as they started this whole mess.

Perhaps President Biden should remind the Israeli government that there is an international right to freedom of speech and that there is also a right not to destroy property, especially in a country which is not yours. In the USA the students are lucky that they were arrested by the police. Palestinians in their own country would simply be shot and killed by the IDF for daring to protest. The students in the USA are not starved, nor do they lack food, water, medicines, shelter and the other essentials of life like the Palestinians are, in their own country.

He could also have served in Oman during October 1969 until September 1976. At least he served his queen and country, so it doesn't matter where or when he served, but at least he served.- 96 replies

Ex-President Faces Jail Threat for Repeated Gag Order Violations
billd766 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Me too. In todays BBC News site there is this. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68980820 There is more in the link. "If they go into Rafah, I'm not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah," he said during an interview with CNN. He added that he would "continue to make sure Israel is secure". Despite firm and vocal US opposition, Israel appears poised to mount a large-scale invasion of Rafah. Also from the link. "But a leading member of Mr Netanyahu's Likud party in Israel told the BBC's Newshour on Wednesday he believed US domestic political considerations were behind the decision to halt the delivery of bombs. "I totally disagree that the American election has nothing to do with it," said Boaz Bismuth, a member of both the Israeli parliament and the foreign affairs and defence committee." What is happening in the American election has nothing to do with it," said Boaz Bismuth. It certainly has nothing to do with Boaz Bismuth. To me at least, President Biden is using stronger 'diplomatic language' to Israel to make his point clearer to the Israeli government. Whether Netanyahu and his war cabinet, listen and understand is a different problem. -
MP Criticizes Plan to Use Central Fund for Digital Wallet Scheme
billd766 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
YOU might think so, but I suspect that millions of THAI VOTERS may disagree with you. After all, it is their country and not yours. I hope that you are speaking for yourself only and anybody who may agree with you. "We" is a plural term. and you certainly do NOT speak for me, nor my Thai family or my Thai friends. -
Thank you for that information. I tried it which led me to a screen, which led me to eventually 5 screens and I ended up giving up as it was taking me out of the task manager (where Copilot doesn't show) deeper and deeper into Microsoft and changing the registry. I went to Settings and Apps and features and uninstalled Copilot from there. It seems to be applicable to Windows 11 and Microsoft Edge only and is some sort of AI App similar to ChatGPT and is a stealthy way for MS to make changes without people noticing.

I am using Windows 10 and in the bottom right corner of the screen is an icon called Copilot. It is a preview from Windows 11 AFAIK It doesn't seem to do anything and it doesn't show up on the task manager anywhere. Is it possible to get rid of it, and if so, how? Thanks.

Left behind what? Why would I care?

Why does he, I or anybody else HAVE to change? You are welcome to change as often as you wish, in exactly the same way that nobody HAS to change if they don't want to, and if it works for them (and me), why change something that works.
