Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)

That plan failed but they are doing quite well in stopping most aid getting in. Vile and despicable actions. -
Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)

Rubbish. The Romans called it Syria Palaestina, and the British referred to the area as Palestine. Yes, they are Arabs and they live in Palestine. Trying to deflect does not change the fact that Gaza was not included in the 1948 UN designated area for israel. Israel has no legal right to it. -
It's been so long since a movie came out that people will asking "who is Bond?".

Is life worth living without helping others?

Of course you can do whatever you like, but I was replying to the topic. -
What possible reason would I have wanted male Thai friends for? There was an obvious reason why I associated with Thai females, but not being homosexual that didn't apply to males. The two male nephews of my wife would have put me off any idea of wanting male Thai friends had I thought it a good idea. I'm pretty sure most Thai males have the same idea about farangs too. None of the ones I lived amongst ever wanted to associate with me.

Is life worth living without helping others?

Mostly yes. I stand ( actually sit ) before you to state that I regret becoming a nurse "to help others in society". I was muggins #1 to think it was a good idea. Seemed like a good idea at the time- become one of the lovely people that work together for the benefit of humanity- LOL, the laugh is on me. What awaited was bullying from managers, indifference from colleagues and abuse from the patients and relatives/ visitors. All that and for measly pay that does not reflect the worth of nurses in any way. Following my early retirement to save what was left of my sanity, I was exploited and robbed by my "friends" that I helped greatly, disrespected by my wife that I helped in so many ways and had my property stolen by her family. Even then I had not learned the lesson, but helped someone out by allowing them to pay me for an expensive item by installment, only to have them pay me nothing, while smoking and drinking large ( karma got him though when he killed himself on his motorbike by driving like a maniac, and I was able to retrieve the item in question- never again will I not demand full payment up front ). I'll help my family, and do small things that do not have a monetary component for others, but nothing like I used to. Took me a long time to learn the lesson, but eventually I did. -
Supreme Court says Texas can arrest and jail migrants
thaibeachlovers replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Is that actually in the constitution? I can't believe that the founding fathers ever imagined that thousands of illegals would be crossing the border. Perhaps is an interpretation by some liberal of something in the constitution, that wasn't actually the case now. -
Zelensky and his cabal has no choice but to keep fighting. Fixed it for you. No country can afford to send too many to die, regardless of the short term consequences, else the country, even if they win, will die for lack of men after. In a one sided war, where Russia has men and materiel, and Ukraine is entirely dependent on countries that are running out of money and weapons/ munitions to send, the end is inevitable, IMO. While the west is using Ukraine as a proxy to bleed Russia ( fighting to the last Ukrainian ), some may overlook that certain Asian countries will be as eager to use Russia as proxy to punish the west.

A quick read of that leads me to believe that what the author is saying in plain English is that the benefits accrue to the private sector and the downside is given to the public sector ( tax payer ) to deal with.

Her words are contradictory. She says he should be able to appeal, but goes on to say "Look, no one more deserves to be mistreated, and no one more deserves a system rigged against him, than Trump." which is saying that he deserves to be mistreated and deserves a rigged system. Whatever, it's a misuse of the "justice system" for political ends and IMO everyone knows it. Perhaps it will come back to bite them, or at least I hope it does.

All that is going to happen now is that Russia will punish Ukraine in return. If it comes down to a war of tit for tat, who can survive the longest? Ukraine may be using foreign supplied drones for now, but they are running out of western money to pay for them ( someone has to and the Americans are not, at least for now ), and it is apparent to me that Ukraine is running out of cannon fodder men to fight, which means that those that they do send will be poorly trained, and reluctant to fight.

The poster you quoted seems to have a bee in his bonnet about New Zealand, else why mention it in a thread about Gaza? He doesn't seem to know much about it either. -

The problem with that is that the Gazans own the land they live on. Israelis have zero rights to it. It is not part of the land allocated to israel in 1948, ergo israelis have no business controlling or invading or blockading it, and if it wasn't for the American veto in the UN, they would have been forced to stop thinking they have a right to any say over it, long ago. Are you aware that you are advocating for ethnic cleansing, which is a crime against humanity? Are you aware that you are advocating for apartheid? If you are wanting one state with full and equal rights for all Arabs living in it, get back to me on that, but I doubt you do. -
I believe that the US has some arid regions. Perhaps Kushner can relocate himself to one to see how he likes his"solution", preferably without any means of communicating any more of his IMO moronic solutions to a conflict he apparently has no understanding of.

I am suggesting that he is trying to blame something else for his emotional problems, rather than owning them and doing something about them other than playing the victim card. It certainly had an effect on my development, and I would not be the person I am without it. Some experience trauma and overcome it, while others allow it to overcome them. I don't know if it made me a better person, because of the abuse, but it certainly made me despise bullies, and I believe that I have never been one myself because of that. Perhaps it made me more able to survive the bullying I received in the military and in nursing ( nursing has a great deal of bullying by managers, probably more so than in the military ).

I'm absolutely astounded that immigrants that commit a crime could not be jailed in the state where they committed the crime. To not allow it is just barking insanity.
