  1. For some posters only one side is right and the other is evil and anyone that does not support the "right side" is to be attacked. However some posters can see both sides of the conflict. I can't be bothered with one eyed posters which is why most of them are on ignore. Put up a reasonable point of view, and I'll debate that, but just saying israelis good Palestinians bad is not a reasonable point of view.
  2. I know something about Christianity and Islam having been brought up a Christian and working for years in an islamic country, and I don't think there is much difference between the core values of both. The extremist element of both is add ons by people I do not respect.
  3. The ten years I worked in a London hospital I never dared to comment on a female nurse's looks for fear of being reported. I also refused to be alone in a room with a female patient for fear of being accused of something I didn't do. It's a very different world from when I started nursing when, taking care of females alone was a normal part of my job, and not something I even thought about.
  4. A female I believe. I worked with hundreds of females in my time, and none of them wasted their time moaning about sexism. Harriett is IMO a moaning ninny, playing the victim card.
  5. How little you know, to spout such garbage. My great great grandparents were being oppressed by the English.
  6. I think the Hamas leaders undertook the October 7 mission with the understanding that israeli revenge would be brutal and many Gazans would die, but better to die in revolt against the oppressors than live forever under tyranny. I also think that they thought that once the attack went too far, world opinion would turn against israel and a two state solution would be imposed on the israelis. So far that is the way I have described. Many Gazans are dying, but the world is slowly turning en mass against israel, and even the Americans seem to be seriously considering a two state solution. Once the death toll reaches a critical mass, whether by bombing, bullet, disease or starvation, IMO world revulsion will make the US abandon its unquestioning support of israel and persuade them to force israel to evacuate the West Bank to allow for a two state solution. Whatever the reason for Americans supporting israel, they have to get along with the rest of the western world, and the western world is not supporting israel to any great extent any more. Even the UK abstained at the last UN resolution calling for a ceasefire. That's a big win for the Gazans.
  7. Legitimate grievances have been put in front of the UN for decades and resolutions condemning israel have been ignored by israel for decades.
  8. After the Romans destroyed the temple many Jews left Palestine and not many were left. Eventually they became a minority as Arabs moved in hundreds of years ago. It's all documented if one wants to look.
  9. Interesting question, considering that what the israelis are doing in Gaza and the West Bank is IMO the same as what was done to the indigenous people of the north American continent couple hundred years ago.
  10. If you can get extension based on retirement your problem is resolved. My non O was based on marriage but my extensions were for retirement.
  11. Thailand has thousands of little back country roads, but the countryside near the Mekong is the most scenic I have seen.
  12. I think you misunderstand evolution. It works on eliminating defectives reproducing themselves, but modern society has kept defective humans alive and allowed to reproduce, so the traits will not be eliminated, but will become more commonplace. BTW, humans have not been in existence for even 1 million years.
  13. Not smoking is the best thing anyone can do to stay healthy, though as I can attest it doesn't stop some getting it. I never smoked, but I got prostate cancer anyway.
  14. No. Cancer is a defect of the body, not a transmissible disease, and bodies are never perfect ergo some will develop cancer regardless. What will happen is that science will get better at detecting and treating cancer. Eg, prostate cancer treatment is light years more advanced now than when I was butchered.
  15. More than made up for by countries in the "third" world. You know, all those that are trying to get into Europe and The USA illegally.
  16. I certainly think the planet has too many people, but that is because I love the planet and having too many people is destroying it. IMO it's irrelevant if we cull ourselves or the planet does, but I can't see a future where humans exceed 20 billion, without a major extinction event happening. BTW, in 1950 there were less than 3 billion people on the planet.
  17. Nice dream. Don't let the gangs catch you and make you a slave, as they will take over the country within a couple of days, thanks to cindy removing all the guns from the law abiding.
  18. Words fail me so I'll let an emoji say it for me.
  19. More than that, the west, IMO, has conditioned men to think of women as some sort of treasure that can only be won with many trinkets and baubles, usually of the diamond variety. How many times do we see on tv shows and movies the man having to "win" her and promising to "make HER happy"? There is no onus on the woman to make the man happy in return, ergo it's perfectly acceptable for muggins to give her many worldly goods and for her to refuse to give him sex in return. Also on movies, though mainly older American ones, it is often shown that a husband is delighted beyond words when his wife indicates that as he has been a good poodle boy she will do him the honour of allowing him to use it for a treat. From many comments on AN and TVF before it, some farangs are still indoctrinated with the BS that a vagina is a great treasure and that men must make great sacrifices to be allowed to access it. LOL.
  20. IMO there is a lot of confusion about that. I always took it as a night out without sex at the end, but seems some regard it as always including sex. That might be because I was "dating" nice girls and back then nice girls didn't, without a ring involved.
  21. I can't understand why Trump has not sued her for false accusations. The onus would be on her to prove that she is telling the truth, and I for one don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth about Trump.
  22. a/ it keeps him in the public spotlight- any publicity is good publicity in a campaign. b/ it garners him more support= votes. c/ he knows that when he wins it all goes away for 4 more years d/ it makes the opposition seem desperate= less votes. e/ he enjoys rubbing the opposition's nose in it f/ he gets to jazz up his base during the campaign rallies with it Pretty much win win for Trump, as long as he wins in November.
  23. Are you claiming that Biden didn't "boast about running up the deficit"? I watched it and he certainly did boast a lot about spending other people's money. Given that the US is apparently broke, it would add to the deficit.
  24. IMO the Pope will be having the last word on it when Zelensky is forced, one way or another, to negotiate. It's sad to see leaders so casual with their troops lives. All that is going to eventuate IMO, is more widows and fatherless children. Zelensky reminds me of Butcher Haig with his "just one more push to win" madness of sacrificing thousands for a few yards of land.
  25. IMO pathetic nonsense, and I hope they get sent packing for wasting the court's time.
