  1. If I hadn't already wanted Trump to win, I would after reading that post where you disparage millions of Americans. That would surely be the best revenge.
  2. and some of us "Trump fans" don't know whether or not it was stolen, so not having any desire to talk about it. Talking about Iraq would only be in a thread about Iraq, and I haven't seen any of those recently. Perhaps you should start one so we can talk about it.
  3. Seems certain posters don't understand that many Republicans hate Trump as much as any Democrat. When he railed against the "swamp" he was including the GOP.
  4. I'm puzzled about the Yinn thing. I've been on the forum for a very long time but have only a vague recollection of any poster by that name, yet they seem to have been quite controversial. Which subforum did s/he lurk on? I remember a female mod ( but not the username ) that jumped up and down whenever western women were disparaged, but allowed any slander against Thai females. I was happy when s/he vanished.
  5. A long time ago I spent a year in Antactica on a base that had 90 men and 2 females over summer, and I learned a lot about how men become fools just to be around women. I also learned that some women love being queen bee and some women find it too much and hide. All good life lessons. In winter we had 11 men and no women for 8 months. I was fine because I wasn't in a relationship back home, so didn't miss anyone, but the guys that were did it hard, very hard. I consider myself to have been fortunate not to have been in a relationship then, considering how much I missed my Thai wife when I had to spend half the year away from her. Can men get by without women,? Yes if they have to, but not happily, IMO.
  6. During that time a day without Thai Visa was a day wasted, and I spent far too much time on it. I even got into strife at work for having a surreptitious gander at it on the work computer ( I didn't stop doing that, just got more sneaky when doing so ). I remember the exact time it all changed and it was a certain day in November in 2016. after that I got suspended more times than I can remember, and my relationship with TVF became more adversarial.
  7. Personally, if I could time travel back to the days when I was an impressionable youth and thought women were special I'd give myself a good slapping and tattoo my right hand "this is better than the real thing". I might have avoided the user that took me for everything and left me to start over from scratch at 35. However, life does teach us if we want to learn, and after working as a nurse ( where women outnumber males by about a 100 to 1- my first hospital had 900 female nurses and 6 males ) I did learn that women are just people and not much different mentally than guys. We are all just trying to make it through the day and perhaps find a bit of happiness along the way. Where we differ I learned, is that women can get by far more easily without men than men can get by without women. However the power of the small head is strong, too strong to resist, and therein lies the power of women to control men and make them do things they shouldn't, like spending loadsacash just to fly to LOS for a two week bonkfest. Guilty as charged.
  8. Thank you for that. It's the nicest thing anyone said about me on this forum. I'll do my best not to disappoint in future. However about the pill theories; I got lost somewhere in the technicalities and will have to look it up on our friend google.
  9. I have personal experience of that with the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forum. The Thailand forum was a vibrant fun place to spend a few hours on and newbies actually got to learn stuff about Thailand. Site got sold, woke mods took over and forum lost so many experienced posters that it turned to <deleted> and was of no use to anyone. They cancelled it during covid and no idea if it started again.
  10. He wasn't the first to be played by the Soviets. Stalin certainly did well against Churchill at Yalta, and Churchill was a seasoned politician, while Kennedy was a mere political baby compared to Khrushchev. IMO Churchill won the war against Germany, but lost the peace to the Soviets.
  11. As I understand it, it wasn't Kennedy's Bay of Pigs at all. He inherited it and refused to let the US be part of it which meant it failed, as it should have ( should never have been allowed at all ). Thank goodness Nixon wasn't in charge then, if his incompetence in Vietnam is anything to go by. Kennedy apparently didn't want to go into Vietnam at all, but the warmonger Johnson took over and we know how that ended. Just my opinion, but every war the US has been in since Korea ( whether directly or by proxy ) has been a disaster, but they did make the 1% richer. I'm not sure about Grenada, but was that even a "war"?
  12. We ( in the western world ) seemed to live quite well when there were only 3 billion people on the planet, but of course millionaires were a rare breed. The rest of us were mostly happy there were not many millionaires.
  13. Not only do they not realise that, but they think it's their right to live off other people's work.
  14. That last one with Luke was rubbish as they didn't even obey the laws of the force. They also went woke- an automatic turn off. However, the one where the two main characters were incinerated at the end was quite good. At least they didn't have Wookies or Jar Jar Binks. The latest Dune movie was a lesson in how sci fi should be done. They seem to be taking too long to come up with the next installment though.
  15. Famous means sod all. History is littered with famous people that no one knows or cares about now. Does anyone offer thanks to Nelson atop his column now, or put flowers on Churchill's grave every year? Anyway, famous or not I didn't like a lot of their stuff, and loathed quite a bit of it. IMO Fleetwood Mac was better, the Stones were better, along with many other bands. While I have Beatles CDs, I haven't actually listened to them in a long while, like 30 years. The Beatles just happened to be at the right point of time to change popular music, but it was just popular music, not a cure for cancer. You are welcome to care, and I'm sure I care about a lot of things you don't, but don't expect much of the rest of humanity to share your opinion.
  16. No. That would allow the utrethra to be squashed with all the problems that would entail. The designed way protects the urethra from bladder to penis. If we died at 40 or 50, none of the problems would be likely to arise.
  17. Talking of design flaws, the female having the urethra opening almost right next to the anus has to be the worst. Could be designed to cause UTIs. Also not good when having a child. I was unfortunate enough to be at a birth where the Dr didn't do an episiotomy ( cutting the skin to allow a child to be born without tearing ) and the unfortunate woman had a tear right into the anus. I doubt she was very happy with that Dr.
  18. My 2 bob's worth. 1/ We live longer than designed for 2/ mammals were originally 4 limbs on the floor, but some learned to walk on the back limbs. Do dogs and cats suffer prostate problems ( rhetorical question ). That also answers Sheryl's opinion of the spine. It wasn't designed to be vertical. As an aside, mammals were designed to have sex with the male behind, not this frontal stuff the religious dictated way back.
  19. Didn't he already "lose" the case and this is only to decide how much to fine him? I think he expects to get screwed over and is just using the opportunity to to stick it to the judge and his enemies out there.
  20. I can agree with that. Perhaps the Soviets were pushing the boundaries to see how far they could get, but Kennedy was the right man at the right time. Since then the Russians had more than enough disasters to rein them in- Afghanistan, Chechnya, etc. After Ukraine, I dare say they will be thinking twice about any non nuclear war with the west.
  21. Thank you for the above post. I think the western alliance, civilization, whatever you like to describe it as is over, and has been for some time. IMO it's too rotten from within to survive but isn't going to go out gracefully. Rome took hundreds of years to decline to the point that the mercenaries hired to protect it simply took it over. No civilization in all of human history lasts forever, so why would ours be different? If we can't learn to live in peace after 50,000 years, we are condemned to repeat history till we either can or exterminate ourselves. What we are going through is IMO merely the death throes of western civilization. I'm not particularly concerned about the Ukraine conflict as IMO it's just another war in a continent perpetually in conflict since humans learned to use a rock to bash another human's head in. I'm far more concerned about a wider conflict in the Middle east which could bring about another Dark Age of humanity.
  22. I can venture a suggestion as to how it will end. Eventually America and the EU nations will stop pouring unlimited money into Ukraine for any of a dozen possible scenarios and the war will end with negotiations involving transfer of land to Russia and a guarantee of no NATO membership.
  23. Agree. They have the WW2 experience to prove that. The Sherman tank was called the Tommy Cooker by the Germans for unpleasant reasons. The advantage of the Sherman was that it could be mass produced easily and they did outproduce the Germans. The German tanks were far superior and better guns, but sheer numbers were against them, as they took longer to build.
  24. Trump doesn't need to go to Ukraine to stop the war. Simply stopping all military supplies would be an end to it. He could simply tell Zelensky that if he didn't negotiate with Russia that the bullets and shells would stop. War over.
  25. Fired? I don't think so. All that I saw was that he isn't allowed to attend cabinet meetings. Seems that Hamas isn't doing too badly against the mighty israeli army, as how many days since the invasion started? I think Mosul took about 3 months, and the Americans didn't have half the countries of the world against them in that conflict. I'm sure that every Hamas fighter knew that it was suicide mission, and that capture would be worse than death. They also know that for each of them probably a dozen more will join Hamas to fight the hated israelis again. The occupation and daily humiliation by the israeli oppressors is an excellent recruiting agent.
