So, just another climate change that has resulted in many deaths that has occurred throughout man's history on this planet. Drought, flood and pestilence have been not uncommon as long as man has been around. The difference now, as I see it is that some of us think that we can change nature by some means, to make nature kinder, but is that a realistic theory, given it has never been done before? However, what is certainly true is that some are getting rich off the idea that mere humans can change nature. Carbon credits? LOL.

Where I live there hasn't been any noticeable sea level rise in my lifetime, yet islands I never heard of are suffering "sea level rise". I wonder if it's that they are sinking, and not sea rising at all.

I disagree with you on almost everything. I lived with my wife for a year before getting married. My mistake was letting her move to the village. Before that we were happy, but her sister wanted her to divorce me and marry someone that gave them lots of money ( I didn't ), so eventually the marriage failed. If I had the opportunity to do it over, I'd only get a village wedding, so she knew I could walk away at any time, I would not give her any money, but pay the bills. We'd never live anywhere near the family- as far away as possible and no spare room for them to stay in. I didn't build her a house or buy her a car or anything like that, as I wasn't that daft. She worked for her money, and I'd never have given her an "allowance". I got taken worse financially by my first western partner, so I did learn some lessons, but people change, no matter how we "research" them before getting married. My wife was lovely for years, till the family got to her, then it all changed.

Problem for the young generation is snacking after school, when they head to 7 11 or the food cart for unhealthy food. Their mothers probably didn't have the money to do so or had to work after school. Lots also ride m'bikes to school instead of walking.

That's a generalisation as none of the Thai girls I fed did that. If they stay slim ( lots don't ) it's because they ain't gluttons and they are more active than western equivalent.

I'm far from a fanboy for Trump, but I don't like Biden, as much as I didn't like hillary, which is a lot. I'd be happy if Trump had done the right thing and not stood for POTUS again. As for McConnell, he has long ago passed his use by date and should have retired long ago. It's not like he needs the money, is it?

Let me correct that. The rich that get richer by not using local workers and use exploited labour in China need China to export it's goods so they can continue to get richer. On the one hand I want to see Chinese people turn on the government, but on the other hand NZ depends so much on China to import produce that a destroyed Chinese economy would be disastrous for NZ.

Can't see any jail wanting him in it. Where to put the secret service agents? Constant disruption from protestors outside. Threat of invasion- do they want to have a small army permanently posted outside? Also, if he won the election ( as I for one want to see ), the problem of hosting the residence of the POTUS. Hopefully, if he is in fact convicted ( and that's not a slam dunk ) common sense will prevail and it'll be house arrest.
